He heard a knock before the door slowly opened to reveal his mother. She had a blank look plastered on her face but her eyes---they were worried and much concerned for her son.
Well, he did lost consciousness while being inside a firing building. She slowly took a few steps closer to her son, sitting down on the vacant seat next to the bed before placing her hands on her lap.
"Nagisa, how are you feeling?" She asked, trying her best to converse her son. Nagisa blinked before looking away from her direction.
"I still feel dizzy but I'm alright." He replied.
She nodded her head. She glanced at her son's body, there were bandages wrapped around his arms and a few on his face but somehow she knew---there was more that what he had said to her. She doesn't know if this was her forgotten motherly senses kicking in or whatever motherhood acts that was left of her.
She almost lost her only son. She sighed, guilty for thinking of the worst before another rap of knocks were made.
They both turned to the direction of the door as a nurse came in. "Good afternoon," She greeted before proceeding to do her rounds on him and went away as quickly as she entered before informing them of the necessary precautions and diagnosis made.
"Do you remember who saved you?" His mother asked.
To be fairly honest, he doesn't but it was strange to think that the student council president was the one who had came to rescue him. He had figured it was someone else, someone with red locks and golden eyes to be exact.
But he never once came, even when everything was over. He sighed, this wasn't the right time to think about him.
"It was the student council president right?" He answered in question. His mother looked at him quietly before replying a 'yes'.
"Right after you were delivered in the emergency room, the staff asked all the details from him before proceeding. Somehow he knew you were the only one left in the building and never left your side until his father took him home." She explained.
Listening to her words, Nagisa felt an ache in his chest. It wasn't Karma who had saved him but Asano, he wanted to feel really bad but he couldn't express it not when his mother was here.
He had guess, that this was really it. The last time he had ever talk with the redhead had to be left with unfinished words.
"Good mornin' Nagisa. How are you feeling?" The student council president asked as he entered the room of the blue-haired boy.
Nagisa had to stay another day just to to be sure that his body was stable and healthy enough to function normally for his regular day-to-day activities. He smiled small at the ginger boy before replying to him.
"I feel much better than yesterday." He sincerely answered.
Asano smiled back at him, his shoulders feeling less tense as he sat next to his bed. "I came to bring your homework, and some cards from your classmates. They wanted to come visit but there a sudden activity going on in the academy." He explained.
Nagisa raised his eyebrow at him. "And you're not attending it?"
"I will, later at noon. I just had to some more important matters." He countered with a bigger smile. The blue-haired boy crossed his arms loosely before asking how was the academy and students holding up after the fire.
It turned out, the fire was ignited accidentally during a quiz lab preparation from the first years. One of the students thought it was funny as a joke to harass his friends with random chemicals being heated up by the fire.
