We walked into the throne room where will and Angelina were having a scream off. The queen groaned under her breath. She had a growing headache. "That is enough out of both of you." The queen finally shouted. The two of them stoped shouting. "What do you think?" She asked. It took me a moment to realize she meant me. "Oh don't mind me, I just came to watch the spectacle." I said with a smile. With all my perceptive prowess I couldn't tell who was more surprised that I was here, will or Angelina. "Well I think I'll let you decide which option suits you more. Stay here in the castle, or leave with will." The queen made a gesture at each one her dress flowing with each movement. A smirk came to my face. "I like what you did there." I said making the dots connect. Confusion spread from every body other than mine and the queen's. "I have no idea what your talking about." She fined innocence. "I'll be going with will, I've grown tiered of the same boring room." I said knowing that the queen was gong to kill a large number of birds in one stones throw. "Very well." She turned to leave. It was all a front. "Your majesty I must object, we simply mustn't let this assassin leave unattended." Angelina protested. The queen pretended to ponder this a moment. But she already knew this would happen. "Then your ordered to go with them as one of the wizard's guards." Said the queen with finality. I couldn't manage to suppress the smile on my face. The queen had managed to solve the problem and reprimand both parties. Sure I felt a little used, but it was totally worth it. I had a new found respect for this queen.
Three hours into this trip and all I knew was that Angelina was furious. But I don't think she even knew why. Will had been silent ever since the queen hand picked his guard. The two of them hated each other to an extreme degree. So having to work with each other like this was killing them. What's worse is that neither had power to chose who was right, or get some one in power to agree to their side. What the queen did was make me a tool to take any power they thought they had and rip it from them. Then bring them close as possible to each other. I don't think I could have done better myself. I stoped dead in my tracks. Angelina noticed first. She looked at me annoyed, at first. By then worry flooded her face. "Defensive positions now." She shouted at the hand full of guards who barely had time to raise their swords before their heads were removed. A black cloaked figure rushed me. I quickly drew my knife and fought my attacker off. Will had already sure surrendered and Angelina was covered in cuts. It had happened so fast. A handful of cloaked figures came out of the shadows ready to attack me. "I didn't think an envoy of the queen would know how to fight." Said one of the attackers. She had on a fancy mask designed in the likeness of a tiger. I was confused at first as to why this girl thought I was with the queen, then I remembered I was wearing a different cloak that had the queens coat of arms on the back. She lunged at me first her twin daggers flashing in the shade of the trees. I backflipped out of the way. She stoped her attack. I thought she might stop and let me go, but it was only a distraction letting one of the others rush me. I cut them down swiftly. Only to be attacked by the girl again. She was angry that I killed one of her comrades. Then again who wouldn't? I finally decided to get serious and pulled my second knife out and dragged it along her mask. Which by the way was made out of a very hard steel. She took my second of confusion to stab at my head. I narrowly ducked out of the way. The hood of my cloak fell onto my shoulders. Surprise hit her hard. She recognized me? I lowered my blades. Probably not the best choice. The girl knelt down before me. The other attackers fallowed suit. "I'm so terribly sorry sir, we had no idea it was you." She said in a hurried voice. The attackers were filled with fear, all except the tiger faced one. Her fear mixed with her joy. An emotion I was currently unaccustomed to having pointed at my direction. "Just one question. Who are you?" I asked. The fear changed to confusion. "I think I might be able to answer that." Said will dusting himself off. "These are the night hawks. They work directly under the reaper, thats you, as his army of assassins." I was still drawing a blank. The name was familiar, though I couldn't place it with any memories yet. "Now to further explain the situation before anyone else dies, Leo here was found by our soldiers unconscious. And our queen was nice enough to let him live, I have been going through rounds of trying to recover his memories seeing that he has amnesia." The air was tense. No one wanted to move. I had to do something. "So help me." I said looking at the masked girl. She unclasped the mask and let it fall to the ground. "My name is Mira, I have been fallowing you since the day you saved me from a hunting party who were going to sell me as a slave." She said her voice trembled with sadness. Quick flashes of my memory ran by in my head. I had come up on a small hunting party. They were laughing at some great haul they had. I assumed it was food, and so I thought I would get some. When I found Mira caged I felt bad for her. Taken from her family so a couple of guys could make a profit. A level of rage had built in me. That day. Not near the time when my parents had died, but enough to send me into berserk mode. There were bodies, just less of them. "I remember." I said quietly to myself. I knelt down and placed a hand on her head. An action I did the day we met. "Thank you." I said. She lifted her head so she was looking at me. I stood and faced the crowed. They were my assassins. "Mira update me." I said. She stood up quickly. "After you disappeared Kyle was the first to proclaim your death. He then manipulated the night hawks to elect him as head assassin. But I couldn't let go of the feeling you weren't dead. So I along with your most loyal assassins set out to track you down." I thought for a moment. My next questions had to be perfect. "What was my objective?" I asked. Mira took a second before answering. "It was a privet mission. You wouldn't even tell me what it was about." A hint of sadness laced in her voice. She blames herself. "Kyle. What's his deal?" I asked switching topics. "Kyle joined four years ago. He kept his distance at first but then got all buddy buddy with the other hawks. He rose quickly in rank to your left hand man. You told me once that he felt off to you. But you couldn't tell why." I thought for a moment. My mind was sluggish. But the details Mira provided were quite helpful. I could pice together a vague picture. I brought Kyle to the front of my mind trying to call forth any memories I might be able to. "Describe him as I can." I said to Mira. "Tall, deep voice, well toned but not bulky. Hated heavy armor like you. Used a short sword." She listed these facets off one by one. I had a concrete idea of who he was now. "That's not a lot of helpful information." Complained Angelina. I had completely forgotten she was here. "What about hair color, eye color, any sort of facial features that would set him apart in a crowd?" She demanded. Mira looked at the knight with malice. "I was not asked to describe how he looks, but who he is." Mira spat at the other woman. "Ok as much as I'd love to see Mira beat the snot out of you I have more important things to deal with." I said stoping the two from killing each other. "Mira were heading back to base you take point." I said. She nodded. Here goes something.
