Feelings are confusing [Shinso Hitoshi x reader]

Shinso had only just finished getting changed, when there was a knock on the door indicating (y/n)'s arrival. He took one last glance in the mirror before walking over to the door. He then placed his hand over the door handle and pulled down, the first thing to greet him was the sight of (y/n) still in her UA uniform; with her arms behind her back.

"Hey Inso", she greeted him happily.
"Hey (f/n)- what's behind your back?", He asked curiously.

"Oh? Getting straight to the point are we?. Well anyway if you really wanna know.... Close your eyes", she instructed.
Shinso was hesitant but closed his eyes nonetheless. He heard some shuffling, (y/n) moving her arms a he assumed.
"Okay, open", she said happily.

It took a moment for shinso to realise what was happening, but once his senses came to him he realised (y/n) was holding something in front of him.

"My mask?", he asked amazed by how fast (y/n) worked.
"Yep, sure is!", she was so happy to see the shocked look on shinso's face; staying up was worth it.
"What? How?" He was absolutely amazed.

"Well if you're asking what's new, it's made out of a different material then your old one; it's a lot more resistant to things such as heat, cold, fire ect., there's a few updates- technology wise- oh! It's also a lot lighter then your old one so it's easier access." She beamed excitedly.

"Holy shit! Wait, how did you do it so fast?" He asked.
"I... kinda stayed up...a little late" she mumbled, not wanting to lie but also not wanting him to feel bad.

"(Y/n)! You should rest!" He said sternly.
"Hey! You can't lecture me about sleep." She spat in retaliation.
"Well yeah, but still- you need sleep." he said shaking his head slightly.
"I will..... after ice cream", she said happily.
"Fine." He agreed.
"Oh yeah and you're paying!" She said.
"Fine." He agreed again knowing that it was the least he could do.

"Oh and Inso?" All she got was a groan as an indication to continue talking "you can tell me your proper name later, after ice cream".

After Shinso and (y/n)'s little catch up they headed of to the ice cream shop around the block.

The walk was pleasant shinso and (y/n) soon we're walking in sync down the empty streets. On their way shinso couldn't help but think about his mask back at home and how much effort she would have gone through.
There was a pleasant silence fell between them, the only sounds were the cars in the distance and the soft taps of their shoes.

"Hey uhh where are we going?" (Y/n) asked suddenly breaking the silence. Shinso then realised that he was zoning out and took the wrong turn which lead them....to the park no one visits anymore. "Are we lost?".
"Uhh so don't hate me... but we took the wrong turn.." he mumbled slightly embarrassed by him getting lost in his thoughts. "We can get ice cream on the way back, wanna chill here for a bit?" He offered.

He didn't even realise that (y/n) was no longer by his side- inside she's hanging upside down like a kid in the monkey bars.
"Come on Inso! It's fun!" The girl laughed.
"(Y/n)! You're wearing a skirt don't go upside down!" He shouted turning his back on her; trying to give the girl privacy.
"Oh don't be silly! I'm wearing shorts!" She said proudly.
"Of course she is, swear she'll be the death of me one day.." he mumbled as he walked to the monkey bars to join her.

Shinso grabbed the bar and pulled himself up to sit at the top with his feet dangling in the air, (y/n) then sat right next to him, copying his actions.

"So... the hero corse huh?" She mocked raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, yeah I only got in recently... my quirk wasn't really great for the entrance exams." He mumbled looking out further in the park that was only over grown with weeds, but not overbearing.
