Feelings are confusing [Shinso Hitoshi x reader]

"You're late", Shinso grumbled as he greeted his friend.
"Am not! The bell rang like five minutes ago, you're just dramatic", she retaliate, drawing out a playful smirk from the purple-haired-hero.

"First of all, the bell rung ten minutes ago, what took so long? Second of all, we're making a quick stop on the way to your house." He said.
"First of all", she said, mocking Shinso's tone, "It rung...ten minutes ago- shit I didn't realise I took that long, my bad. Secondly, where are we stoping?", she asked.
"A café", he mumbled, and with that he slid his hands into hers and began walking.

"Why are we stopping at café?", (y/n) asked- "wait!", she gasped dramatically, "Is this a date?!", she practically screamed, drawing attention from bystanders.
"What?! No!-" before Shinso could finish talking, he saw (y/n) laughing so hard that she doubled over, needing to hold onto her stomach.
"Pft- you should've-" her breath was laboured as she continued to laugh hysterically, "you should've seen your face! Priceless!", she was still laughing, even after the cramps kicked in and her face felt numb.

Although she looked absolutely out of her mind, Shinso thought that she looked beautiful. This is the most he had seen her laugh. He's seen her angry side, her distant/cold side, affectionate side, and now her absolute carefree side. They may have only met a few days ago, but shinso felt so happy and comfortable around her.

"Quit laughing, it's embarrassing," shinso mumbled as he began walking away.
"Bu-but the face you made," at this point (y/n) had to grab onto his shoulder for support. "Slow down! I can barely walk," she laughed.
"You can barely walk because you're laughing too much," he said coming to a stop.
"Maybe if you'd help me, you wouldn't have to wait for me," she said in a matter-of-fact tone.

"And how would I help you?," he asked.
"Crouch down and look forward," she demanded.
"What?! No!," he gasped, what was this girl thinking?!
"Just do it." Shinso didn't have a choice since (y/n) was already pushing him down.

At this point he just gave in and crouched down, looking forward. Suddenly he felt a weight lower it's self onto his back and two arms slot on top of his shoulders.
'A piggyback,' he mentally confirmed.
"So you want me to carry you to the café?" He asked, even if it was obvious.
"Yep," she simply said. Shinso than stood up right, hoisted her up comfortably and began walking.
As shinso was walking (y/n) rested her head on his shoulder, she was definitely comfortable around him.

"Hey (y/n)?" Shinso said in a question tone, all he got was a hum "what did...- what did Monoma say to you?" He asked, he noticed the girl tensing. "You don't need to answer, I won't push you; Just curious," he quietly said in a soothing tone.
"He knows me from my middle school, that means he knows some things about me," she answered.
"What do you mean by 'some things'?" He asked.
"I'll tell you eventually, I just....don't like talking about it," she mumbled while holding onto shinso just a little bit tighter, also as if a an attempt to bring him closer.
"I understand," was all shinso said as he continued his way towards the café.

"Shinso," the girl started as her eyes gazed across the menu. "What's something I don't know about you?" Her questions was strange but shinso didn't mind.
"A lot." He plainly said, "What's something I don't know about you?" He asked, redirecting her question.
"A lot".
"Toché", was all he said with a chuckle. "I'm going to order for us. Are the coffee's to go?" He asked, not knowing if (y/n) wanted to stay.
"Yeah, I don't like big crowds." She answered.

While shinso was ordering their coffees, (y/n) just scrolled mindlessly through her phone. While she was relaxing on phone her mind wondered to what Mei said earlier.

"There's a girl! in 2B!- she likes that guy from the hero course- the one you've been hanging out with..."

Why did it bother her so much? Why should she care?
While she was overthinking the words Mei said, shinso had returned and saw the odd face (y/n) was making.
