Wish On A Star (Kai x Reader)

I love Kai. But he is a terrible actor. So are the rest of the ninja.

And it only gets worse the more I have to watch them recite the same three lines and beat up a guy in a Skulkin costume.

"I sure do, Kai," drawls Lloyd in an over projected voice. "But I don't know what it says." He puts his hands on his hips as he 'ponders' the problem. "Can anyone help me read it?"

I cringe at the line. Just let me die...
Ignoring my wish, the team continues.

"We can!" They yell in unison. "Because reading is the first step to every adventure," they all put a hand in the middle of a circle like a team cheer. "Go, reading, go!"

When their manager says cut, I can bairly hold in my laughter. Nya walks up to me looking at me weirdly, confused about what just happened. I grab her shoulder to steady myself. "Sorry, Nya. Your brother can not act. It's hilarious!" She gives me a look that says she full heartedly agrees. I hear Kai yell a protest about how girlfriends are supposed to be supportive or whatever.

"That's a wrap!" Cries Dareth.

Nya turns around to look at the 'brown ninja'. "A wrap? But I just got here,"

For the first time, Dareth notices us and comes over to where we're standing. "Oh, Hey, sweetheart," Nya frowns at the petname. "Mind sticking around to show girls how to apply makeup?" He gestures to a pink, makeup corner with a camera crew setting up.

My mouth drops open. This is the first time I've been allowed on the set for one of their setup media- promo things, but I never expected so much sexual discrimination. Beside me, Nya is furious. "Your going to need makeup when I rearrange your face!" She yells and raises her fist.

Jay rushes over and holds her back, with some difficulty. Kai grabs my waist to restrain me, picking me off the floor as I try to attack the middle aged man. I'm at a loss for words but I'm silently mumbling curses under my breath. How could he-

"Nya's one of us now,-" Jay points out.

"And has been for months!" I cut in.

"-There's no reason for her to be treated any differently." Jay finished. By now, Nya is no longer trying to strangle Dareth, but if looks could kill...

The man scoffs. "No reason? You added a girl to your group! You know how much that hurts your image? Your a boy band!" He does a little jig.  The guys look around a little weirdly.  "A hunk machine!" He insists.

"No, we're equals. Our power comes from no one being more important than the other," Lloyd corrects. Nya gives him a small nod of appreciation.

Kai swings his arm over my shoulder. "Important? No. Irresistible?" he leans in and gives me a peck on the lips. I smirk. "Uh, debatable."

There's a commotion behind us and Kai turns around to see a mob of more fangirls by the exit. He gives them a little smirk and they go crazy. Calling out to him and screaming that he smiled at her specifically. I glair at him and elbow him in his ribs.  He lets out a small grunt and laughs at me.

Dareth laughs at the girls reaction. "I don't tell you how to do your business, don't tell me how to do mine. Dareth is in charge and Dareth says don't change the recipe. You boys are the face of the franchise, and now the face of teen idol!" He pulls out a rolled up magazine from his back pocket and holds it out for us to see the cover.

There's a picture of Lloyd in the center, Nya surrounded in a heart with Jay and Cole on either side and in the corner a red silluet of a girl beside Kai.

"'Sensei Lloyd'? But I'm only a sensei in training!" Lloyd points out.

"And I thought that you and Jay fighting for Nya was old news?" I say, looking at the ghost for confirmation.
