14- The First Step to Every Adventure

"Hey," I turn around to see Lloyd. "Sensei's back, and there's trouble, "

Kai walks up to me. I cut him off before he says anything. "Hey, it's fine. Captain wants me to come in anyway. Talk about timing..." I say. He looks at me uneasily. I told him about me training to be a police officer. He's supportive now, but wasn't at the beginning. Overprotective and afraid I'd get hurt and stuff like that. Which was touching, but also slightly annoying.

I graduate in a week, if I'm lucky. But I'm currently a proud trainee of the 62nd precinct. If it all works out, I'll be the fastest graduate ever. Just waiting for my badge and title basically. My captain was an older woman but she treated me fairly and gave be the best desk work posible till I could get out in the field. "It's probably not related." I try to reassure him. We both know it is.

But he smiles gives me a hug and a kiss and then follows the others inside.

I climb down the latter onto the nearest rooftop and go home to grab my uniform. Hopefully it's nothing too serious.

An hour later, I'm sitting at my desk looking over a bank robbery with shady security footage. There were no witnesses so it's my job to clear up the green blob to identify the suspect.

But my mind isn't really in it. Step-demon-dad wants to bond over shopping again or somthing. So I'm trying to come up with a plan to convince him to buy somthing else besides the fancy leather boots no one wears. Like a comic for Lloyd.

His birthday is coming up soon. I'm still confused about how old he is. If he's 13 or 18. The whole tea thing messed me up.

A notification appears at the top of my screen on my personal phone:
'@Fi-ya13 replied to a comment: Of course I'm at the hospital. My hair is sick!'

I groan. Kai, you idiot. I go onto his page quickly and see that there's a picture in the comment section of Kai in a hospital room window, sticking his head out and looking worriedly at the camera.

I quickly comment.
'(Y/u/n) (your user name): Not getting you out of this one, idiot, '

@Fi-ya13 to (y/u/n): haha. You love me though. 😎 but please, help?

(Y/u/n) to @Fi-ya13 : maybe... maybe not...

It was fun watching him get in trouble.

I turn off my phone and look at the time. My shift was over 5 minutes ago. I hit load on the footage recovery. It's going to take a few hours for the picture of the purp to come out so I let my captain know and pack up my stuff and head home. I can finish up the footage tomorrow if need be.

...

In the morning, I wake up with a bad feeling. Like something went wrong last night.

In my pajamas, I make myself a bowl of cereal and turn on the news. Just incase.

"-alling it the crime wave of the century!"

I'm met with a grim faced reporter at his desk. A small screen in the corner enlarges to show the security footage I was working on now with Lloyd clearly laughing with a bag over his shoulder.

"Last night, green ninja, Lloyd Garmadon was caught on tape robbing the city bank,"

My mom walks in and watches with me. The screen changes to show Zane at the amusement park.

"But that's not all, Zane Julien was on a rampage of vandalism and mayhem at Mega Monster amusement park, and it seems like the other ninja are following their comrades into the life of crime!"
