Midas x Reader ? Fortnite

After y/n told Midas about how the game went, she just sat on his bed and was in his arms silently for a bit. That was until he spoke.

"Lets.. lets go try.." Midas said hesitantly.

Y/N was a bit shocked but she sat up a bit, looking at Midas. She gave him a small frown, "like.. Now?"

"Yeah, when else would we do it?" Midas said, confused a bit.

"I just.. I dont wanna leave..." y/n said as she stood up, wrapping her own arms around her now.

"Well you have to soon, or else you might die. I can't let that happen." Midas said as he stood up, now looking down at her.

Y/N was quiet and she looked down at her feet. She fiddled her thumbs and just sighed a little. "Can we just... wait for a game to start? Let us spend time together beforehand?"

"We can't do it in a game... it's like being on a team. You know.."

She nodded her head and just rubbed her eyes, "yeah.. I know."

"We can go to the map.... Do it there ok?" he said.

"It probably won't work there. We can do it here... maybe."

Midas rolled his eyes slightly. "Hun, I dont wanna do this as much as you dont want to leave." he said before walking to y/n, holding her hips and pulling her close. He put a hand in her hair and played with it. "I just want you safe, home, and it's because I love you."

Y/N just stared at Midas as he spoke, just held onto him and buried her face into his chest. "If were going to do this can I atleast go so bye to the others?" she asked.

"Of course... go.. I'll be here."

Y/N came back to the room with Midas, exchanging sad looks with him.

"Hun, I don't think I can do this." Midas said as he messed with the holster on his leg.

"You have to... if you want me to get home."

"I don't want you to go home. I just want you safe."

"Well then do it to make sure I'm safe!"

"Maybe this isn't the way! Maybe... maybe we can try vaulting you again! Or if.. another player kills you!"

"That won't work!" Y/N said, raising her voice as she held herself.

"How do you know? Maybe.. maybe the game knows you're not supposed to be here now!"

"Midas! The vault won't work because I can't do it!"

Midas gave her a confused look. "You can't do what?"

"I can't bring myself to just.. leave.. that's why I want you to do it." She said.

"I don't get it.."

"I purposely cancelled vaulting myself while I was in the vault because I couldn't leave just yet. I wanted to stay here. Stay with you and everyone else. I like being here. Hell, I love being here, ok? It wasn't the vault that wasn't working, it was me not wanting to leave.."

Midas started at her and blinked a bit before shaking his head, "but... but then what if we just try one more time ok? I can't.. I can't do it any other way!"

"I need you to do this, ok?" Y/N had tears in her eyes. She knew Midas didn't want to do this. She wanted to push him to get it done with. And oh god, she didn't want to leave. But she couldn't risk everything in her life over this game.

She walked over and wrapped her arms around him, "I'm sorry for not being strong enough to even leave.."

"Don't be sorry." Midas said simply before he wrapped her arms around her back.

Midas just looked down as her. He placed one hand on the back of her neck and another wrapped around his pistol. The two leaned into each other and they just stared at each other.

"I love you.." y/n said shakily.

"I love you too." Midas said.

The two kissed, Midas pulling her closer as his hand was still holding the back of her neck.

His other hand aimed the pistol at y/n's head.
