Chapter 10

"Kaname...Kuran...?" you said to yourself.

"What are doing out here, (Name)? Day Class students are forbidden to be on school grounds at night, it's dangerous." Kaname asked, his gaze sends chills down your spine.

"I was looking for Yuki...I couldn't find her anywhere." you lied. "Isn't the Night Class still in session right now?" you asked, quickly changing the subject.

"Class has already ended. Everyone returned to the dorm." Kaname replied.

"Oh well, I wish you a good night Kaname Kuran." you said, bowing your head and quickly ran past him.

"You should be more careful." Kaname called out to you.

You stopped in your tracks.

"Does he know?! No it can't be true." you thought to yourself as you once again ran to your dorm.

Kaname glared at you as you departed.

"I'm guessing you sense it,too...Kaname." Yagari called out as he revealed himself from behind a tree. "She looks a lot like 'her'...I can see it in your eyes." he added.

Kaname just glared at Yagari as he smoked his cigar. The Pureblood chuckled as he headed to the Headmasters office, leaving Yagari alone.

{at school}

You and Yuki walked to class together along with Yori.

"Zero...will come to school, right? He must come. As long as he's alright, that person has no reason to kill him." you reminded yourself.

"(Name), have you heard anything about Zero?" Yuki asked.

You nodded in reply and began explaining to Yuki about what happened last night with you and Zero.

{at the Chairman's private quarters}

Zero sat against the wall in a pitch dark room, no light anywhere. Yagari opened the door while carrying a large suit case.

"Why are all the windows covered up?" he asked Zero as he went over opened the curtains followed by a bright ray of sunshine, causing Zero to squint. "How is your shoulder?" Yagari asked, catching Zero off guard. "That gun was made specially to deal with vampires. Even vampires with high recovery speeds cannot heal that quickly...unless he drinks fresh blood." He protested, pulling out the Bloody Rose and pointing it at Zero.

You began to wander where Zero was since he didn't come to class. Yuki noticed it as well.

"He's not here...he didn't come..." you thought to yourself.

You suddenly realised what you've done and darted out of the classroom.

"(Name) where do you think you're going?!" yelled the teacher.

"Teacher as a disciplinary member, I'll go get her." Yuki said as she ran after you.

You ran towards the Chairman's private quarters when suddenly Yuki grabbed your arm.

"Yuki, what are you doing?! Let me go?! I have to save Zero!" you struggled to break free.

"(Name) hold on--" Yuki said.

"IF WE DON'T FIND ZERO, HE'S GOING TO DIE!" you shouted, causing Yuki to realise the same thing.

{at the Chairman's private quarters}

You and Yuki arrived at the private quarters and ran towards Zero's room, bursting open the door to find Yagari aiming the Bloody Rose towards Zero.

"NO! ZERO!!!" both you and Yuki shouted.

BANG

Zero quickly grabbed the gun in time and dodged the bullets.

"Isn't it a good thing to be killed by me?" Yagari asked placing his hand over his right eye patch. "Have you forgotten? 'I won't let you regret losing your right eye to save me.' That day, you made me an oath. Seeing you like this, makes me want to kill you. I kinda feel that doing so, will make me feel more comfortable, somewhat happy even. While you can still fight, struggle to your hearts content. The life you have chosen now is that much of fresh blood." Yagari explained as he turned his back towards Zero. "Don't run away...Zero." he added.

As Yagari glanced at you and Yuki then glared.

"Hey you two! Once this guy breaks down, you must stop him." he reminded you and Yuki as he grabbed his suit case. "His crooked arm is due to his injury. Just sew up that wound and it'll be alright. All of this is for his own good. From now on it's up to you two." He added.

"Then...when you shot at Zero..." you said out loud.

"Are you kidding? Missing a shot from that distance? If I wanted to kill him I wouldn't have just left him with a wound." Yagari admitted. "Ah...I'll just send for this suit case some other time. I'm a busy man, and there's work for me to do. No time to slack. See ya around Zero. I want to see you alright at our next meeting." he said.

Both you and Yuki's sweatdropped when Yagari couldn't pick up his own suit case.

"Zero...'that woman', it seems that she's still alive." Yagari protested as he left the room.

"That woman?" you asked yourself.

Zero's eyes grew wide. Both you and Yuki approached Zero quietly.

"Zero, we really thought you were going to die." you said, tears begining to form in your eyes.

"We don't know what we'll do if we lose you..." Yuki added, tears forming as well.

"Yuki...(Name)..." Zero said out loud.

He stood up and stared at you and Yuki. He approached you both and reached out to you and Yuki but then he hesitated. He clutched his fist then ruffled yours and Yuki's hair.

"I'm not going run away...not anymore...so, don't cry." Zero promised as he left the room, leaving you and Yuki alone.

You and Yuki wiped away your tears and gazed out the window.

"I won't regret...!" both you and Yuki thought.

You and Yuki turned towards eachother and smiled. Yuki took your hand and dragged you back to class.

Kaname was in his room looking stressed as he clutched the bedroom curtains.

"Yuki..." he said to himself.
