I Want What I Deserve// Loki x Fem Reader

Hello everybody! Today is May 8, 2020. I cannot believe that we are at 463 reads, this is a dream come true, thank you all so much. Today is May 7th, 2020, and I hate online school! The Avengers charge into the forest, weapons charged. They all assume postions behind various shrubs and trees.

Tony signals for the team to move in. They all charge in and take down the guards effortlessly. Natasha bends over a guard and takes the keycard with a smirk.

Swiping it over the pad, the heavy metal doors whoosh open. The Avengers creep in. Everyone notices that Loki has his arm behind him, almost in a protective stance of Y/n. 

"Alright, we're splitting up. Buddy system please," Tony says. Nat and Y/n scoff and rush out in different directions, taking out the guards along the way. They both whip around seperate corners. Loki calls out for Y/n and rushes off. Y/n is running down the halls, shooting at the guards and ransacking every room. One of them actually put up a good fight, but all it took was for Y/n to jump from the desk to his shoulders and snap his neck with her legs.

She leared that from Natasha, of course.

Y/n places her guns back in the holsters on her theighs.

Going throught the drawers, she scans the files. Y/n spots a familiar name : James Buchnan Barnes. Curious, she snags it and opens it, placing it on the desk. Nothing is in it except one piece of paper and a handful of photos.

Testing: Successful

Status report: Project terminated

The pictures are from the '40s, clearly. They are black and white and they all are of him in uniform. Some are of him on the field, others are with him with Steve. 2 stick out to Y/n in particular. The first one is of Steve and Bucky. Steve has his hand on Bucky's shoulder, and they both have massive grins on their face, clearly in a large fit of laughter. The second is of Bucky dancing with a girl, with Steve in the background dancing with the woman you have heard so much about: Peggy. Although Bucky is dancing with another woman, his eyes are clearly set on Steve in longing.

Everyone had a sneaking suspicion that Bucky was crushing on Steve, even Tony, who occasionaly poked fun at him for it, but these pictures confirm that this isn't just a crush: this is love.

Suddenly, the loud click of a gun cocking brings Y/n's attention up. She grins at the man holding the gun. "Hi."

"Scum," he whispers.

Before Y/n even has time to draw her guns again, the man pulls the trigger and fires right into her chest.

Her eyes widen in shock as the man flees. She looks down and sees blood flowing from her chest.

Loki drops to the floor in pain. It feels as if he has been shot in the chest. He inspects himself for any sign of harm, but he finds nothing. Suddenly, it clicks.

"Y/n," he whispers.

"Y/n!" He yells.

"Y/n, love, where are you?!"

He frantically searches every room untilhe finds one with the door already open. Loki goes in but sees nothing but a desk and some shelves.

He turns to leave until he hears a faint whisper.

"Loki."

Loki whips around and goes around the desk, where he find Y/n laying on the floor, top unzipped, with her hands covered in blood from an obvious bullet wound in her chest.

"NO!" He screams. He drops to his knees and pulls Y/n into his lap.

"No, no, no, no, no," Loki sobs. 

Y/n's eyes flutter open. "Hey. Hey, it's okay. I'm okay. I'll be okay, I promise."

"Why did you do it? Why do you have to save everyone?" Loki asks.

"'Please know I am quite aware of the hazards. Women must try and do things as men have tried. When they fail, their failure must be but a challenge to others,'" Y/n whispers before her eyes widen and she becomes completely still and ice cold.

Loki screams agonizingly. "GET DOWN HERE!" He yells into his earpiece.

Soon all the Avengers are in the room, crowding around the desk, where Loki is still clutching his dear Y/n.

Natasha screams. "NO! Y/N NO! NO YOU CAN'T GO! NO!"She falls to her knees and clutches her dead sister's face.

Steve turns around and buries his head in Tony's chest. Tony is completely numb, tears freely rolling down his cheeks.

Clint covers his mouth in horror. Thor walks behind his brother and places his hand on his shoulder, tears quitely falling.

Soon, every single one of Loki's illusions fell apart. Every single scar, cut, or bruise he had ever gotten appeared on his body. All the imperfections he always covered up appeared. He also turned blue, his Jotun marks appearing on his skin as his eyes turned red.
