"Ah! Welcome, Soma!"
"Thank you for having me," the female quietly said, entering the room. She closed the door behind herself, refusing to allow her eyes to leave the mouse-bear-whatever the fuck he was principal and underground hero beside him. Nezu had agreed to meet with her the day right after the festival, much to her own gratitude. Her arm was still not the best, the cast still fully wrapped around it, but Recovery Girl had promised she would be able to remove it once school started again. Snipe was also there, sitting across from the two teachers. A small table sat in between the small group.
"Please have a seat!" Nezu chirped out, the girl just nodded her head. She placed herself beside her homeroom teacher, not seeing any other open seats around. She moved her injured arm, attempting to get it in a better position for herself. "I'm sure you already know why you're here?"
"Ah, yes. I was told the basics of why I'm here," she admitted. The man only smiled at her, her statement being enough for him.
"Wonderful! I take it you have come to a decision then since you're here?" the principal asked. The female nodded her head, looking at him head-on.
This was it, what she had been waiting for.
"I'd like to stay in general studies."
Both Eraserhead and Snipe seemed to be taken back by her statement, the female refusing to let her eyes leave the other person.
"I see," Nezu let out. "May I ask how you came to your decision?"
How had she come to her decision?
From what she had gathered, Eraserhead and Nezu most likely both thought the same thing about Masami: she wanted to be a hero. There was even evidence to support that, even if half of the things they could use had been done against her own will. The fact was, Y/N had thrown herself at any chance she had to save a class she didn't know and had even gone as far to dedicate parts of her free time to assist the hero course students. She had undoubtedly proven a want to help people and shown just how far she was willing to go, the principal using this as his cause for wanting her to join the hero course. There was absolutely no possible way she was avoiding this, Nezu being fairly adamant about playing off her sense of heroism.
But she could use this to her advantage.
If Nezu truly wanted her in the hero course, then there was no possible way he was going to let her go that easily. By her guess, he was only asking for her reasoning in order to appease any worries she may have. This was her leverage.
"There is...a person I cannot leave behind," she decided to say.
"A person you cannot leave behind?" Nezu repeated, the female nodding her head.
"Shinso Hitoshi, my...classmate."
Shinso was ultimately destined to be in the hero course later on in the series the more the female thought over it. He was going to become a hero one way or another in this storyline under the help of Aizawa who had seen his potential. If she was going to screw up this story, she might as well attempt to speed up his character arc in the process.
Her eyes tore away, opting to glance down as she tapped her fingers over her knee. "I've...always wanted to be a hero. Being in the hero course despite being quirkless is more than I could have ever hoped for," she started. She wasn't quite sure how well the teacher would accept her lie but there was no harm in trying, seeing how this was her best bet at helping him. It wouldn't be strange for her to dream about being a hero either from how Masami had been established in this world. "But it would be entirely selfish of me to leave behind someone who deserves it just as much as myself. Shinso-kun is...a very dedicated person whom I respect very much. So for that, I cannot leave my current class."
