MIKASA POV
It was about 6 years ago when I was 11 years old. Levi was babysitting me while my parents were at a wedding.
I went to bed and fell asleep knowing that when I wake up and run down stairs in the morning, my parents will be there greeting me and making breakfast. It happened a million times.
Instead of waking up on my own, I feel someone shake me. I slowly flutter my eyes open. It was still dark, but my lamp dimmed the room.
I look up and I see Levi. I was confused. Why is he waking me up? He shook his head and his face was filled with pity and sadness.
The next thing I know, I'm at the hospital saying goodbye to my parents.
They died that night from a drunk driver. I will never forgive whoever did this. I hope they suffer the way I am.

Levi then got custody of me. I love Levi, but I didn't want him to take care of me. I want my parents back.
I left my house and moved into Levi's apartment and went to a new middle school. It was hell for me though. I couldn't handle living my life without my parents. So I forgot. I pushed everyone away and forgot the worst years of my life. I thought it was the right thing to do, but I realize I only built a cage for my emotions and it's only a matter of time it's going to break free.
