Burr is a kind man,

so kind that he outright rejected you when he noticed your increasing advances. Not expecting for you to be stubborn as well. Not expecting for all the adoration and affections that you shower him despite giving you the cold shoulder.

Ever since she was young, she knows that you'll never be satisfied with being just his faithful friend.

People noticed, they noticed how you started acting out on your affections remembering the pitiful attempts you did before he got married to his wife. It made them look at you sadly and wonder to themselves, why are you being so persistent? Seeing the way how Burr pushes you away should've discouraged you. But it didn't. It made you desire him with much more longing as you once again made a promise to yourself,
