I sighed in relief, pleased to hear Master Luke's voice.
Master Luke, I need your help. I pleaded, placing a hand on the cool glass of the window.
What is it, y/n? I heard Luke ask. "Everything," I mumbled, beginning to explain all that had happened.
There was a spy aboard the ship. He was sent by Leia. Luke, I need help. I need your guidance. How am I possibly supposed to go on like this? I questioned softly, gazing ahead into the stars before looking back down again.
Continue. Luke urged.
He said something to me. I wasn't surprised when he confessed his mission to gathering intel, but then he said something else, somethin- you know what, it can't possibly be true I don't even know why I'm telling you this. I interrupted myself, chuckling in disbelief.
No, I want you to tell me. Luke urged.
He said that there was a prophecy, written long ago. The prophecy said that one day there would be two people, both from different sides of the war, and of balance. Light and dark. He said that somehow they would bring back the balance. I explained.
He told me that the prophecized two are me and Ben. Is that true, Master? No more lies. I want the truth, and I feel I deserve it. I asked finally, yearning to hear it from him.
A part of me already knew it was true, but I didn't want to believe it. It was as though Luke's word on the matter would set it in stone. If it wasn't true, I'll have been lied to, which would mean that nothing would change. If it was true, everything would inevitably fall into chaos, and I would be torn.
There was a moment of silence before Luke answered my question.
Yes. The prophecy was created generations ago. We didn't know who it was about, but the answer is obvious now. Luke finished.
My eyes widened as I shook my head. No. That can't be true Master Luke. You know Ben belongs to the dark now. I spoke, growing more and more confused each second.
At this point, all I was doing was lying to myself, and both I and Master Luke knew it.
No one ever truly belongs to the dark. You of all people know this. Leia believes that there's still light in Ben, and I know you do, too. Luke announced, sure of his statement.
I remained silent.
No matter how much I tried to convince myself that Ben was on the dark side, I just couldn't. I could feel it within him. He hid it well, but there was only so much of himself that he could bury, especially from me.
What am I supposed to do? I thought as I sunk to the ground. You know what you have to do, y/n. Luke stated, the emotion in his voice weakly masked. I could feel tears building up in my eyes, it really had already been a rough day.
I don't know what to do anymore. I thought, taking in a deep breath. I didn't even finish my training, Luke! How do I know if I have the strength to do it? I asked, running a hand lazily down my face as my eyes began to feel heavy.
You do, y/n. We both know that you have the strength to do it. You've always been ready to face a challenge, and this will be your biggest one yet.
But you must stand tall. It's unfair, I know, but it's destiny. Your destiny. You've been avoiding this fight for far too long. It's time for you to choose who you will fight for.
