I groaned quietly as I opened my eyes, squinting at the harsh fluorescents in the room. I appeared to have been moved back to my and Kylo's quarters during my rest. He was gone again, probably interrogating the rebels. My energy seemed to be fully back now, which I noticed while getting dressed. Though I could see a faint scar where the wound used to be, it was healed.
As I slowly brushed my matted hair, I kept getting distracted. I didn't know what it was, but the feeling made me uneasy. It was almost as if the universe was trying to warn me of something, but what was it?
It was late morning when I set off into the cold hallways, ready to take on the day. I knew where the interrogation rooms were, but I decided against going down there. I needed to talk to someone, anyone, about what Rey had told me. I didn't want to bother Kylo at the moment, so I decided to go to Hux.
I don't know why, I just had a feeling that he was the one to talk to. We had gotten off to a bad start, but he was the only one who was there with Hersh.
This would probably end up horribly, but I didn't really care at the moment.
For some odd reason, I believed that I could find a way to get through Hux's severe (to put it lightly) exterior. It may have been stupid of me, but I thought that it was worth a shot. From what I had seen by the window, it was clear that there was more to him than what meets the eye. Hopefully, this would be worth it.
Hux's natural habitat was the Main Control room, which I immediately set course to. I had strong urges to talk to Rey, but I resisted them.
Not yet.
Once I made it to the Main Control room, I instantly spotted Hux. He appeared in his normal prideful stance, probably satisfied we had gotten the rebels back before they could get to their Resistance base.
He smiled at me as I came into the room, turning to face me. Now of course it wasn't an actual smile, as far as standard smiles go, more or less a smirk without evil intention. "Ah, l/n. How are you? Gave us a bit of a startle yesterday." He asked, folding his arms behind his back.
"Better than yesterday, thanks." I chuckled, giving him a knowing smile. He nodded, beginning to turn around before I stopped him, slapping a hand on his arm. His eyes met mine in alarm as he yanked my hand away from his arm.
"Also, I, uh, I need to tell you something," I whispered, glancing around to see if anyone had noticed. "I wouldn't be doing this unless it was absolutely necessary for you to hear." I urged, tilting my head slightly.
Hux peered around before nodding towards me and motioning for us to leave the control room.
Once we were far enough away from any staff, I went for it.
What could I lose possibly lose by telling him...
"Hux, I need you to not freak out or anything, okay?" I asked urgently, smiling nervously. He rolled his eyes, agreeing. "I haven't told anyone about this, but I wasn't shot by the traitors." Hux's eyes widened slightly as he motioned me to continue.
Kylo would've killed her before she could tell me any more about the prophecy if I had told him that Rey was the one who shot me.
"I was shot by a girl named Rey. Do you know who she is?" I asked curiously. His eyes now had a gleam of hatred in them. I recognized this look easily, but there was something about this girl that really pissed Hux off.
"Yes, I know Rey. She destroyed our former base and nearly killed Ren in the process." He responded unhappily, crossing his arms over his chest as he looked down.
