As the different games spun around on the large screen behind her, Midnight commentated... in her own special way. "Let's see what we have in store for you next! Will your wildest fantasies come to life? What could it be? The waiting is torture!"

"Oh gawd... Midnight, stahp..."

"Prepare yourselves... for this!"

The spinning on the screen stopped and you read the name of the next challenge. "'Cavalry Battle', huh?"

Midnight continued to explain the points system. You learned that the points are mainly based on your place in the obstacle course race – 42nd place gets five points and the value increases by increments of five... "And the point value assigned to the first contestant is... TEN MILLION!"

"Holy shit... Poor guy." You kind of felt bad for this Midoriya kid... Everyone would be coming for him in this battle. Midnight then explained how the cavalry battle worked. All of the members on the team would have their total number of points added and placed on a headband that the rider of the group would wear. The other team members would be the horses. You had fifteen minutes to collect as many points as possible without having your rider touch the ground. "Sounds simple enough..."

You were then given fifteen minutes to form your teams. "Great... I hardly know anyone here... Maybe that Shoji guy from the USJ would be interested in teaming up?"

As you start making your way through the crowd to find a potential teammate, you feel a hand on your shoulder. "Hello, there."

You didn't recognize this voice. You turn around and are met with slick blonde hair and light gray eyes. You've definitely never seen this dude before. "... Hi?"

"I saw you breezing through that minefield in the obstacle course race, but I didn't see you use your quirk, and I was wondering... What is it?"

"He's rather upfront..."

"Uhh... It's called 'Illusion'. I can create illusions by altering each of a person's five senses," you briefly explained.

"Hmm..." He thought for a moment. "Would you be able to, say... Hide someone from others' fields of vision?"

"Wow... How did he think of that so quickly?"

"Yes, actually I can."

He gave you a rather crazed-looking smile and snapped his fingers. "You'd be perfect! Join my team!"

You look around for a moment and spot Shinso talking to a few other guys. He was busy trying to form his own group. "Guess I have no other options."

"Okay."

You found out that this guy's name is Monoma. You meet up with the rest of his team; Tsuburaba, who's quirk is called 'Solid Air', and Kaibara, who's quirk is 'Gyrate.' Monoma's quirk is called 'Copy'. It was kind of weird to be teaming up with a bunch of guys that you didn't know, but you knew that you wouldn't have been able to form another team and still talk strategy in the amount of time that you were given.

They each gave you the rundown on how their quirks worked and you all discussed your game plan. Monoma would be the rider, you and Kaibara would be the rear horses and Tsuburaba would be the front. Tsuburaba would use his solid air as defense, Kaibara would use his gyration to fend off attackers, and you would use your illusions to make yourselves undetectable by opposing teams. Monoma would copy any of your quirks if necessary.

Before the timer for creating teams ran out, Monoma gave a quick pep talk to your team. "Almost everyone in the audience is foaming at the mouth for class 1A. Why is that? They're so full of themselves..."

"Sure, Bakugo is full of himself, but the others seem fine..."

"Just like Tetsutetsu said earlier, 'Why are they stars?' The only difference between us and them is that they fought a couple of villains..."

"These guys have no idea that I fought some of the villains, too..."

"Just because we're class 1B doesn't mean we're second rate, or can't win this whole thing..."

"I'm actually from 1C, but y'know, whatever..."

"So let's step it up and show those jerks what we can do. Are ya with me?"

You were starting to regret having joined this group. Monoma seemed to be obsessed with beating class 1A. He's convinced himself that they're all snobs, when you know that's not the case at all. You knew of at least two people from the class who were really nice; Shark Boy from the entrance exam, and Shoji from the USJ. So far, the only snobby one that you were familiar with was Bakugo.

"Oh well. It's too late to find a different team now."

"Okay, all you first years! I hope you're happy with your chosen teams!" you heard Present Mic call out to everyone.

"Not really, but I'll survive."

"Let's get this party started!! One final countdown before the game starts!" Mic announced.

"THREE... TWO... ONE..."

"BEGIN!" shouted Midnight.

Yes, we're replacing the 'Black' guy, Shihai Kuroiro. I'm sorry! It's only because he's the only one who doesn't have any speaking lines in the whole cavalry battle.
