Chapter 6 - Welcome to the Storm

Start from the beginning

“Storm,” Jeremy said, calmly.

“Jeremy, Alyssa, Dominic and... Ella,” He said smiling at us. “I would say it’s nice to see you but... It’s not.” He smirked.

“Aw you say the nicest things to us,” Ella said, standing up and smiling. At least she still had that big mouth on her.

He ignored that comment, looking at us. “Aw the team all reunited again. Last I heard you guys were separated... what happened?”

“None of your business,” Dominic growled, and I always let out a sigh of relief. I was starting to think he lost his edge. But clearly both of them haven’t.

“You spying on us?” Jeremy asked. Dr. Storm laughed.

“I gotta keep myself informed, how else will I know that you’re creating an army. ‘Cause that worked so well last time...” he taunted, smirking. His smirk reminded me of Shane.

“What do you want Storm?” I asked, getting him to turn and face me.

“Well.... I almost didn’t even recognize you, Alyssa! Look at you.. you look hot,” Storm said, eyeing me up and down. I shivered. Ok that was completely gross and just so creepy.

“Hotter,” he corrected. I glared at him, gripping the axe I had in my hands. I almost forgot I had that there.

“Sorry I don’t date psychos,” I smirked, bringing my ax up to my shoulders and resting it there. He eyed it carefully.

“You dated Dominic,” Dr. Storm said, stepping closer. But he didn’t scare me. Not anymore. Everyone else stepped closer protectively.

“Dated being the past tense,” I said, smirking even though inside I wanted kick and scream.

Dated.

But that doesn’t mean loved.

He stepped closed and this time I took a step back and swung the ax so it was right in front of him and right between me and the crazy scientist.

But it didn’t even scare him. “You wouldn’t,” he challenged, smirking.

“Wanna bet?” I said darkly. He raised his eyebrow.

“You may think you changed, Alyssa, but you haven’t. You’re still the same damsel in distress and will always be-”

He didn’t even finish the sentence when I planted the ax into his leg. Right where Shane had shot him the first time we went to his lab.

“You were saying?” I asked as I pulled it out and he yelled in agony.

“You’re gonna regret this!” He yelled as he gripped his leg. Suddenly I looked up and saw a group of zombies emerging from the trees. Of course he wasn’t alone.

The first one was a girl. She had long black and looked scary as her eyes locked on me.

My eyes widen. I knew those punk clothes anywhere.

“Melody,” Dominic said, reading my thoughts out loud. She let out a howl and Storm laughed.

“Don’t try to decipher that, Jeremy,” Storm said, smirking as two guys came to his aid. “I cut off her tongue.”

None of us even had time to register what he said when the zombies attacked.

Something jump me and I fell straight to the ground, hitting my head. Strands of black hair fell on my face.

Melody.

She growed in front of my face. I kneed her in the stomach as I picked her up with my leg and flipped her over so she fell above me. I quickly got up and grabbed my ax.
