The Commandments of the Nice Guy

Always serve as a source of knowledge, encouragement and nurture. I understand that it's a bit vague so let me break it into parts. First of all when I say Knowledge I don't mean to be a walking encyclopedia or to want to know it all, a sense of curiosity is healthy but everything in excess can be harmful to you and your loved ones, what i mean is to share as much of your current knowledge as you can whether it is because someone asked you about the subject or because you want to share a fun fact or something of that nature. It should be pointed out that while it's fine to want to share your knowledge you should also respect people's wishes if they don't want to hear what you are talking about, there is no point talking to someone who doesn't want to listen o feels uncomfortable with what you are talking about.Secondly,when I talk about encouragement I mean in a healthy amount, not the hyper-over the top fanatic that need a restraining order. Just like the previous part, consent and respecting people's wishes regarding your support and encouragement is a priority. Also like I mentioned in the previous chapters, when you give them any sort of help or support it should come from a place of kindness rather than self interest, if it doesn't come from the heart then don't even try. Last but not least, nurturement or nurture in the emotional , mental and even spiritual sense is always encouraged, not only for it's benefits in deepening your bonds with your friends and family but also for it's ability to help you grow as a person and develop all sorts of good things like emotional maturity, a strong sense of empathy and a deeper understandings of human emotion(also applies to pets and plants.)
