The Closer I Get To You [ON-GOING]

Chapter 9

Thank God that my family is easy to talk.
Kinaumagahan ako na mismo ang pumunta sa hospital at sinamahan ako ni Gelay.
Saktong andun si Xeb at ang mommy niya.

" Hey, what are you doing here? " Xeb asked us as we get inside the room of Xaidee.
I smiled and hug him as the usual we do.

" I have something to discuss with you and tita."  Simpleng sagot ko. We greeted Xeb's mother and she offered us a seat.

As I looked at Xeb he seems like he never sleep. Round dark lowered his eyes are noticable. He must be tired.

Kinamusta namin ang lagay ni Xaidee at sabi daw nang Doctor ay wala paring progress sa kanya. I felt bad as I saw Xeb's mother cried hard in front of us.

" I'm sorry."  She apologized when we saw her crying. But we understand where she came from. As a mother she's probably hurting seeing his son being laid into the hospital bed still unconscious.

" Actually I have a  news to you." Panimula ko. " My family wants to help. I talked them last night and they said they will take care of responsibility of Xaidee's condition."

I took a glance on Xaidee just behind the glass of the Intensive Care Unit.

" There will be specialist doctor's that will took care of Xaidee once he get there. And last but not least Dad offer you a transportation for you to ride when you fly to America. All for free. The last thing is we need to find a Liver donor. Mom already contacted someone pero hintay- hintay naoang po muna tayo. I'll go here if we already have. We just need to trust Xaidee that he will survive and just pray and pray. "

Xeb's mother immediately hugged me while sobbing. I caressed her back to let her sob. And she whispered thank you. I glanced on Xeb and seems like he's still surprised.
After that Xeb and I talked outside the ICU. Iniwan na muna namin yung mommy niya doon.

Nasa hospital na pag aari namin na confine si Xaidee. Kaya siguradong hindi mapapabayaan ang lagay niya. I hope Xaidee will survive soon. He's too young to suffer from a severe ill. Nag paalam na si Gelay na mauna na dahil magkikita pa daw sila ng manliligaw niya. Habang ako ay nag paiwan muna para samahan si Xeb.

" How are you?" He asked while looking at me like he's checking on me.

" I'm fine. I should be the one who's asking that to you Xeb."  I told him and caressing his face. He seems to be slim down a little bit.

" You should get rest Xeb. You're getting thin. You need to eat properly and have some regular sleep. You're not taking care of yourself." Pag aalala ko. He hold my hand that cupping his face.

" I'm okay. Promise I will take care of myself. How are you doing? "

" The usual. When do you plan to go back to school? You have missed  a lot of lessons."

" I'll cope up. Don't worry. Maybe next week."

Tumango ako sa sagot niya. He hugged me and I felt his lips against mine. I closed my eyes while he's kissing me.That made me shocked. And my conscious awaken me back to the reality.

I never thought he would that.

" Brendt? You're here lang pala! I thought you were going to rounds?"

Someone said near us. I frozed when I saw him. Our eyes met but his are cold while mine was shocked. I immediately free myself from Xeb's hug and gulp endlessly.

" Y-yeah. I'm rounding I was just... checking something and I think I know it already." He said without leaving his stare on me. I can see some emotion that I can't name. His voice was colder than it used to be.
