You stuck to the shadows of the trees as you quickly circled the building, finding three more cameras in corners around the outside. There were two other doors that had cameras facing them as well. "Shit... I'll need to pick a door and do something to disable the camera."
You chose the door along the side of the building and removed your hoodie, leaving your bag leaning against one of the trees. In your leather jacket with your hoodie in hand, you crept up to the building behind the view of the camera. The device was just out of your reach, but if you could throw your sweatshirt over it, maybe you could block its view.
You lifted the scope of The Finder off of your head and measured the distance with your eyes. You took the hoodie and swung it once... twice... On the third swing, you released it and watched as it flew up and successfully landed over the lens of the camera. "Yes!"
After double-checking to make sure that there weren't any other cameras around, you went up to the door and examined the lock. It appeared to be the same model as the one that the locksmith had shown you earlier that day – the 'Showa CL-50', he'd called it. Pulling the key from your pocket, you positioned it at the entrance of the lock and crossed your fingers. Giving it a small push, it slid into the lock without any resistance. You turned the key and heard a click. "Hell yes!"
You quickly removed the key and placed it back into your pocket before carefully turning the door handle and pushing the door open. As you took a step inside, the door let out a small creak. You froze in place and held your breath, but were met with silence. You released your breath and swiftly entered the building, quietly closing the door behind you. The space you were in was pitch black and you pulled the scope of The Finder back down over your eye and looked around. You were in an empty hallway with gray tile floors. "At least they're not wooden and creaky..."
You slowly walked down the hall, keeping your guard up and your ears pricked the whole way. Seeing light coming from an open door ahead on your left, you quietly walked with your back against the wall and slowly peeked around the corner. You heard the soft sound of snoring and looked inside to see a small room with a computer screen displaying the footage from four different surveillance videos. In front of it, you saw a person sitting in a chair. They appeared to be asleep and you saw that they had a reptilian appearance with scaly green skin as well as fluffy purple hair. They also had some sort of long gray bandana/mask thing wrapped around their face, and a red scarf around their neck. You looked at the screen behind them and saw that one of the surveillance videos was black. "That must be the entrance where I covered the camera with my hoodie... I have to hurry before this guy wakes up and notices." You quietly took out your phone. "9:02... 28 minutes left."
You placed the phone back in your pocket and continued to creep down the hall. You saw a door on the right side of the hall that appeared to be slightly ajar and you crossed the hallway and lingered outside. You heard two voices coming from inside; One was the dry voice of the man that you had followed here, and the other person sounded much deeper and menacing. You took a minute to listen in on their conversation.
Cotton Mouth: "That boy is going to be the death of me..."
Darth Vader: "Patience, Shigaraki... He is only a child. Children can be very stubborn."
"They must be talking about Hitoshi... Wait, so the guy that I followed here was Shigaraki, the LEADER of the League of Villains?!" Then, you heard a third voice speak up... A voice that you recognized all too well by this point.
Dabi: "I'm telling you... You should just kill him and be done with it. He's not going to join us no matter what we do."
Shigaraki: "Shut it, patchwork. You don't get a say in this." You had to suppress a snort at the use of the nickname that you'd given him that night at the training camp. Dabi let out a huff before continuing.
Dabi: "I'm just saying... We can't release him if he refuses to join us. He'll let the pros know where we are and we'll have to move locations again. At the rate we're going, we'll have to kill him eventually... Might as well get it over with."
Then a fourth voice spoke up. "I agree! No, I don't." You recognized this guy as the other dude that you saw at the training camp... The one who's voice changed pitches as he spoke.
Darth Vader: "We can't kill him just yet... We've only had him in our custody for a day. We must have patience."
Deadpool: "But I wanna kill him! The mist man is right."
Shigaraki: "For the love of God, Twice... Shut. Up."
"So the guy in the bodysuit is called 'Twice'..."
Darth Vader: "It's your call, Shigaraki." After a few seconds of silence, their leader spoke up.
Shigaraki: "As much as I have the urge to kill him... Kurogiri's right. We've only had the kid for a day. We can't jump the gun just yet... We could really use him and his power."
Twice: "UGH! You're no fun!"
Kurogiri: "I think that the best way to convince him is to start showing him some hospitality... The boy hasn't eaten anything since he got here. I'll prepare some food for him."
Once their conversation came to a close, you heard an angry grumble and the sound of a chair being scraped across the floor. Footsteps came stomping toward you, and you quickly ducked away from the door just as it swung open. Out stepped Dabi, an aggravated expression etched on his scarred face. You kept yourself hidden from his view and he turned away from you and headed down the hall. You got a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach as you hurriedly followed after him.
Uh-oh... What is flame boi up to?
