you chuckled. "the boonies is a term for somewhere far out in the middle of nowhere. a great example is this house. this house is in the boonies."

"ohhhh, i get it. also, what's the polaris?"

"you know what a side by side is?"

   "yeah."

   "it's one of those."

   "oh, okay."

   "any more questions so far?"

"nope." schlatt waltzed up behind you and slipped his hands around your waist, hugging you. he laid his chin in the crook of your neck and started swaying. "thank you for inviting me to come with you." you smiled as you took in his heat, smelling the light scent of vanilla that you absolutely loved. after placing your head on his chest, you looked up at him as you thought of something funny to say.

"who else would i have invited?" you asked with a laugh. schlatt just huffed and said "stop trying to make fun of my sweet comment."

just as you were getting ready to say something, you heard your mom yell from downstairs.

"could y'all feed the dogs when you go outside to show j around, y/n?" she yelled.

"yeah! we'll be down in a minute!" you yelled back as schlatt groaned.

"we were having a moment," he frowned.

"i know babe, i know. now come on, let's go outside and i'll take you up on some trails or something. how does that sound?" you asked looking up at schlatt with anticipating eyes.

"sounds great, hon," he smirked as you both went downstairs and slipped on your shoes.

you walked down to the shed that housed the two dog bowls as you opened the bag of dog food sitting in front of you and scooped out two bowl-fulls, schlatt standing back and admiring you as you focused on completing the task you had done for almost every day since you were around 10 or so.

"look at my little farm girl go," schlatt said, jokingly applauding you as you put the bowl back where you had found it. "oh shut up, i'm just doing what i've always done," you responded, playfully punching his shoulder. he looked shocked for a second before letting a little exhale out of his nose and kissing your forehead. you noticed the small side by side that had enough room to fit three people on it sitting beside of the red building.

"you wanna go down some old back roads and hills?" you asked excitedly as you looked up at your mountain of a boyfriend.

"let's go!" he said as he ran over to the vehicle and got slipped inside the passenger seat while you slipped in the driver's. you started it, all the memories flooding back to you.

"which way do you want to go? we could go to the old cabin, the clearing by the pond, go see the crackheads at the end of the road, try to go over to the other side of this hil- we could really go anywhere, you just gotta tell me," you were wildly gesturing as you pointed in the general direction of each way you had talked about.

"take me wherever you want to go," schlatt smiled sweetly. he loved the sparkle in your eyes that lit up when you talked about the different places you all could ride to.

"alright then, we'll go to all of them. how does that sound?"

"fine by me." schlatt responded as he tried to hide his excitement as much as he could.

"buckle up, i go real fast," you said, smirking. before schlatt even had time to react, you started zooming down the driveway, almost throwing him out of the vehicle and into the creek that lined half of your driveway.
