When I walked into Matteo's house, I was stunned. It's like some kind of museum. If museums were full of gaudy, funky, crazy art. We came to a set of double doors and Matteo pushed them open and told us to come in and get comfortable.

I don't think I can get comfortable, not in here. Everything is white. The ceiling, walls, floor, furniture, artwork - it's all white. There is absolutely no color. Matteo must have seen my look, because he said, "White inspires clarity and communication, two things that are important in my line of work.".

Whatever. "So what exactly is it that you do?" I ask. He grinned, "I help people uncover forgotten memories lost deep in the minds of poor souls," he said dramatically.

Uncle Shota said, "Or sometimes create your own."
Matteo frowned at him. "Perhaps this session would be more condusive without an audience."
Uncle Shota shook his head no. "Not a chance."
Matteo sighed, "Well then, let's get this show on the road shall we." He motioned for me to sit in a big fluffy white chair. It was actually quite comfortable.

"Wait!" Uncle Shota said, grabbing Matteo's arm. "We have not yet made an agreement for payment." Matteo smirked. "I thought perhaps you had forgotten. Well, for you I think I will exchange a favor for a favor. How does that sound?"

Uncle Shota frowned, "I suppose I can agree to that." Matteo's dark eyes sparkled. "Excellent. Then shall we begin?" And he sat on the couch across from me.

He asked Uncle Shota to explain what I needed help remembering. Uncle Shota told him about THAT night, and how I had been having nightmares about it and now the nightmares are manifesting themselves physically. Matteo nodded, then took my hands in his and said, "Then let us begin."

"Close your eyes my dear girl and count backward from 15 to 4. Very good. Now, I want you to see a doorway. Where does the door take you?"

A pink doorway appeared in my mind. "My bedroom."

"Very well. Now open the door and walk inside."

I slowly turned the doorknob and pushed open the door. I'm in my bedroom from when I was little. I walk across the room to a full length mirror and see my 4 year old self, pigtail braids and all. I see movement behind my reflection. I spin around and there SHE is.

My twin. Would be identical, but my left eye is blue and my right is green and hers are the opposite. I want to reach for her, but I'm afraid she will disappear. "Amber?" She turned to me and smiled a huge smile. "Hi sissy! Wanna play?"

I break down crying and open my eyes. "I can't do this! I can't do this!"
Uncle Shota came behind me and put his hands on my shoulders. "I know how hard this must be Faith, but something about that day is not settled in your mind and we must know why."

I took a deep breath and nodded. "I'll try." He squeezed my shoulder and said, "That's the strong niece I know."

I close my eyes and I'm back in my room with Amber. She's playing with her barbies. Dolls and tea parties, and dress up were our favorite things to do together. I sat beside her and she handed me a doll.

Suddenly, I could smell smoke. "What is that?", Amber said. I stood up and grabbed her hand. "We have to get out of here!", I told her.

As she stood up, the bedroom door flew open and a figure stood in the doorway, surrounded by thick smoke. All I could see clearly was bright turquoise eyes. I screamed to Amber, "Run!" Then something hit me and I flew across the room and I hit my head on the wall. When I looked up, Amber and the figure we're gone. Bright blue flames were crawling from the doorway into the room. I screamed and then fainted.
