After Gon and Kurapika arrived, we finally went through the gate. I felt my heart rate speed up as I realized how tiny I was compared to everything else. I felt Gon poke me as a reminder that he was there with me and that I was okay. I smiled at him, but my heart was still beating as fast as a hummingbird's.

I started thinking, which at the point I'm at is never a good thing. I'm gonna fail! I suck... god, I can't believe I was so stupid to think I was gonna pass! What' is wrong with me! I felt Killua place a hand on my shoulder. "You alright?" I paused and then started laughing.

"S-SORRY! SORRY! It's just- no..???" I fell to the ground from laughing so hard. He just stared at me. I stood up, still giggling. "✨AnXieTy✨" I wiggled my fingers for effect, making myself laugh even harder.

At this point a few different people were staring, shutting me up. A few minutes later, I was confused and being pushed around by people trying to leave into the forest. Now, there is an explanation for why I didn't hear a word that was said.

I had temporarily run out of space in my brain to move, hear, speak, or even think. It happens sometimes. So I end up just going dumb for ten minutes straight until someone brings me back, such as Kurapika did when we were leaving by grabbing my arm and pulling me with them.

We found a bunch of carnivorous pigs and had a good time chasing them around and hitting them on the forehead, but I still had absolutely zero idea what was going on. Once we returned, I found out that we had to cook these things.

This is gonna be fun~

Forty minutes later, I had finished. I looked around and saw that most people had just roasted it and called it good. The hell is wrong with them!?! These guys are judging us based on food, it's not gonna be that easy to please the both of them! I snuck a glance at the guy who seemed to be stuffing himself and giving everyone a 10/10.

I sighed and waited for my turn. I knew I wasn't the best cook, but at least I tried, unlike most of these idiots. I used to have to cook for my picky little sisters all the time, so I knew how to please picky eaters.

When my turn arrived the woman looked at me suspiciously. "And how long have you been a cook, sweetheart?" She asked. I giggled.

"I've been cooking with my mom since I was seven!"

"And how old are you?"

"Twelve." She stared at me. "I cooked for my little sisters a lot too, and they have conflicting tastes, and I learned to please both of them. I hope you like it!" I smiled at her. I could feel the stares of the other contestants on my back. I just swished my tail as a way of silently giving them attitude.

The woman bit into the pork, a small look of surprise flickering on her face. She held up a sign with the number seven on it. I smiled even wider and then hopped of the stage. I noticed she grabbed a small portion of it to eat after the other's.

When I got back to them, all of my new friends started asking me questions. "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US YOU WERE A GOOD COOK!?!" I just laughed.

"It didn't seem important at any time~" I purred, getting a few looks from the boys. I stood on my toes, trying to look above them. "Does anyone else see that huge airship..?" I asked quietly, making them all turn to look at the airship that was getting closer by the second.

I placed my hands on Gon's shoulders, lifting myself up so I could sit on his shoulders. He quickly grabbed onto my ankles and looked up at me, confused. I just giggled. "I can see better up here!"

As the airship landed, I ran my tongue over my fangs as a reminder to myself, just in case we needed to fight them. I slid off of Gon and slinked into the crowd. The new arrivals didn't seem like they wanted to hurt us... so I hurried back to my friends.

Once again, I curled the end of my tail around Gon's wrist. I had to admit, I had only known these boys for a few hours, and I was already attached. I couldn't imagine letting them go. I still had a little trouble believing this wasn't just an amazing dream where I had gotten away from my family and met people who I really cared about.

We were invited onto the ship to redo the second phase, and when we arrived at the site, I froze. A... cliff?!? My hand twitched over to Gon's, and he gave a smile to try and reassure me. Sadly, just as I thought, we would be jumping down it.

Heights. I had been terrified of them for my entire life, but it had slowly gotten better. But this... this was too much. I watched the woman jump off the cliff and float up, but I still was way too skeptical. "Should we really be doing this?!?" I whispered.

I knew he had heard me, but Killua just smiled and grabbed my hand. "What are you-?!? WAIT- NO-" He pulled me down with him. I bit my lip to stop me from screaming and shut my eyes. After a moment I felt us stop falling.

I slowly opened one eye to see that Killua had grabbed the web and was holding me close to him. As a reflex, in one fluid motion, I kicked myself away from him and grabbed the web myself. "Ow!" He shouted. "What was that for?!?"

"FOR SCARING ME, IDIOT!" I shouted, my face bright red. "WHAT MADE YOU THINK THAT PULLING ME OFF A CLIFF WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA?!?" After another few moments of trying to stop myself from having a heart attack, Gon said that we should drop now.

I quickly gathered the courage to let go, and grabbed one of the eggs. A split second later, I felt the wind lift me up. Once back at the top, I sat down. "I think I'm about to die..." I felt a hand on my shoulder and realized that I was shaking.

"Are you okay, Y/n?!?" Gon asked, running over to me. I sighed, trying to breathe right again.

"Y-yeah... just give me a second...."

We boiled the eggs, and they turned out amazing! It almost made it worth falling off a cliff... but not quite.

Good thing that was over now.
