Iris laughed.
The minute they got home, they cleaned and began to pack. By the time they were done, the house looked perfect.
"Wow, I've never cleaned like this," Jordan said.
Iris laughed, "Come on we've gotta pack and be out,"
An hour later, they were locking and setting the alarm to the house.
"Upstate, here we come!" Jordan yelled.
Iris laughed. She was actually pretty excited.
She had printed out the directions just in case they lost service and texted her mom to let her know they were leaving.
"So how long is the drive?" Iris asked Jordan.
"Two hours,"
"Great, this should be fun,"
"You know I love car rides with you sis," he said.
"Yeah, that's a one-sided thing," she replied causing him to shove her playfully.
James sang his heart out practically the entire ride and if Iris wasn't singing with him, she was embarrassing him by recording it.
"If you send those videos to anyone, I will seek revenge!" James said causing them both to crack up.
They had about half an hour left and the snow was coming down heavy. The temperature had also dropped about fifteen degrees, the closer they got to the house. It was true when they said that upstate was always colder than downstate.
Luckily, Iris and James had packed their parka's, extra hoodies, snow boots, hats, gloves. Anything they would need for their stay. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too long but the storm was supposed to be pretty bad.
Iris's phone rang and she saw James' face light up the screen. She had sent him their location so he was right on time.
"Hey," she answered, "We're turning onto the er... road?" she said causing James to laugh.
The house finally came into view and Iris was rendered speechless, "Whoa," she muttered.
"This is not a house," Jordan said, "This is a freaking resort,"
When they pulled up to the front, the front doors opened and James came out.
"Hey," he said grinning.
Iris shivered as she stepped out of the car. It was definitely cold.
"This place is gorgeous," Iris said
"Thank you," James said
"Dude," Jordan said, "If your parents ever need someone to take this place off of their hands, please let me know so I can start saving my dollars from now,"
James laughed, "I'll let them know,"
Iris shook her head.
The inside was just as gorgeous as the inside and she heard laughter coming from down the hall.
"Mom, Iris, and Jordan are here!" James yelled.
She saw his mom come down the hall smiling, "Guys, so glad you made it safely,"
"Thanks for letting us come stay with you," Jordan said.
"Oh, no problem at all. The more the merrier," she replied hugging them both
"You have a beautiful home," Jordan told her.
"Thank you, you guys are welcome anytime. I'm sorry your parents are stuck,"
