"I can't do this," Iris said shaking her head.

She was covered head to toe in snow gear and snow goggles- or whatever you call them- with two Ski poles in her hand trying to get the hang of everything.

"It's not that bad," Jordan told her, "Just- go,"

"What if I fall?" she asked

"You've got tons of snow beneath you to cushion your fall- or a tree if you don't stop like how I taught you,"

"Jordan!" Patricia said causing everyone to laugh.

"Alright, I can do this," Iris said muttering to herself.

James had taken off earlier with his cousin, Lucas, and left Jordan to teach Iris. Although, Jordan did insist, with great brevity, on teaching her.

"Come on!" Iris yelled as she took off down the slopes.

The wind whipped at her face as she picked up speed but she knew not to go too fast.

She felt a rush of adrenaline in her veins as she sped down the slopes.

She knew James was down here somewhere and she might run into him. Literally.

"See ya, wouldn't wanna be yah!" Jordan said as he sped past her.

"Hey!" she yelled laughing.

He was really good at this. Every winter break, their dad took Jordan skiing for a few days. He could probably go pro with this if he ever decided to give up on Football.

By the time Iris reached the bottom, she was one of the last people to join everyone.

"Welcome, welcome," Jordan says laughing.

"Yeah, yeah," she said laughing.

"James went inside to get food," Jordan replied, "We're all starving,"

Iris nodded placing her goggles on top of her hat. She was freezing cold and glad to be finally heading inside.

After taking off all the ski gear, they headed inside the cafe where I see James taking off all of his ski clothes. He was cracking up at something Lucas was saying and Iris smiled.

She was reminded daily why she loved him.

She took a seat on a bench and grabbed her duffel bag with her regular clothes. It was getting dark out so they were done skiing for the day.

Tomorrow they were supposed to be going snow-tubing. Iris was pretty excited about that but apparently, they were supposed to be getting more snow so they weren't sure what was going to happen.

Iris sat down struggling to remove her snow boots. They were heavy and this was exactly why she rarely wore them.

"Need help?" James asked coming over.

"Yes, thank you," she told him.

He took her foot in his hands and pulled at her shoe but he pulled too hard causing her to slide right off the bench and hit the floor.

"Oh shit, babe!" he said his eyes widening.

Iris burst into laughter, "James!" she said cracking up.

"Babe, I'm so sorry," he said chuckling.

"It's okay. I'm alright," she replied as he helped her up.

"You sure you're okay?" he asked

"Yes," she said laughing.

This time she held onto the bench and finally, her boots slid off.

"Thanks," Iris said smiling.
