-Serena's pov-
It's been a week since I heard Benny say the stars aren't as beautiful as I am. That still lingers in the back of my head and fills me with butterflies each time I stare into is hazel eyes.

I didn't think I could love Benny more than I already did, but he proved me wrong. I'd do anything for this boy. Just to spend the rest of my days in his arms. Sometimes Benny would say cute thing now and then to me. Lately he's been asking for a lot of hugs. Of course I didn't mind.

Benny and me were sent by squints to go get a new baseball to play with. "Are you excited for the fair tomorrow?" Benny asks brushing his hand against mine. "Of course! Let's hope the boys do throw their guts up again like last summer" I said laughing. We got to Vincent's drug store and he opened the door for me "Thank you sir" I said with a sarcastic smile, "shut up Martinez" he says shaking his head.

We bought the ball and went back to the Sandlot. Benny took a turn to take the longer way there, "Benny why are you going the longer way? It's shorter over her-" but before I could finish my sentence he pulled me by my arm, "i know, i just wanna be with you for a little longer" he says with the biggest smirk on his face, "fineeeee" "thank youuuuu" he says mocking me.

Benny and I walked slow and just talked about everything possible. "Took you long enough!" "Yeah yeah" squints and yeah yeah said yelling at us while just opening the gate. "Yeah yeah sure, you probably were sucking face" "you wanna say that again yeah yeah?" I said crossing my arms and raising an eyebrow "yeah yeah, I said-" Smalls covered his mouth, "I wouldn't do that man, you know how she beat up Monica at school that one time" all the boys cover their mouths to hide their laugh, including Benny. Monica would always bully Smalls so me being overprotective dragged her. "What are you laughing at Benny?" I said shoving him "nothing nothing I just remembered how you dragged her" he says laughing. "I-, whatever let's just play!" I said turning around to my spot.

We have been playing till dark already, today went by real fast, nothing big happened thankfully. The boys all left but me and Benny stayed behind to play a little more. Benny was gonna pitch the ball so I could hit it. Hitting the ball wasn't really ever my thing so I kinda struggled at times, "Here lemme help you" Benny says as he gets behind me, Benny presses up against me holding my waist. I melted inside, that the closest hes ever been to me. "You got it?" He asks. "Mmh" I mumbled shaking my head yes. "Alright, imma pitch it at you now" Benny says letting go, but I didn't want him to. He pitches it and I hit it "You did it!!" He says lifting me up and spinning me. Once he put me down he was wrapped around me and we stared at each other for awhile. As I was looking up at him there was a long pause till he smiled and hugged me again but tighter. I could hear his heart beat pumping fast. I could feel my cheeks getting warm. 'I love you Benny' I thought to myself as he pulled away.

"You ready to go home?" He asks, I nod my head and walk out with him.

"Today was fun" I said with a smile. He smiled back and ruffled my hair, "stop doing that" I said taking his hand off my head. "Whateverrrrr" he says. "I'll see you later" I said turning around, "bye Serena" as I walked to the front door I felt eyes on me. I knew it was Benny because he always waits till I'm safe in my house, that made me fall harder for him.

I walk in and all I see are boxes everywhere, "uhhh what's going on?" I said putting my house keys on the kitchen table. "Oh Serena hunny, um we have something to tell you." "We?" I asked questioning "let's sit down" my dad says taking my hand.

"Catalina is moving with us." "What why!" I said furrowing my eyebrows, "shh keep it down she's in the shower. I really like her Serena, I think it'll be good for us." He says smiling, "ya right, good for you" I said standing up angerly and kicking a box that was on the floor, "Serena please", I stomp up the stairs and slam the door. I dropped to the floor and put my head on my knees. Tears started to fall from my face leaving streaks. "Serena please open the door" "go away I don't want to see you!" I yelled. The reason I was so upset was because I felt like my dad was betraying my mom, I love my mom and miss her so much, it was all going so fast....

-Bennys pov-
I was getting out of the shower and my phone started ringing, it was Serena's dad so I panicked since something could have happened to Serena, "hey mr Martinez" "hi Benny, would you come over? Serena won't talk to me and she really upset, she locked herself in her room and hasn't came out since she came back." "Oh yeah, I'll be over in 5" "thanks Benny, see you soon" I hang up and start wondering what was going on, but I felt happy that her dad called me because I get to spend more time with her.

I get ready and go to kitchen to where my mom was, "ama Im going to Serena's, she's upset, her dad called me" "ok mijo, don't be too late" she says kissing my forehead. I leave the house and cross the street to Serena's house and knock on the front door. "Thank god for you" Serena's dad says leaning on the door, I laugh "can I come in?" I ask politely, "oh yeah of course, she's in her room." I step in and run up the stairs and knocked on her door. "I already told you to leave me alone!" She yells, "Serena it's me" "Benny?" "Yeah open up" I hear the door unlock as she opened it. "Surpise!" I said smiling she pulled me into her room and shut the door fast and locked it again. "I don't want to see my dad I'm mad at him right now" she says sitting back down on the floor, I sat next to her "why not what happened?"

She began to tell me everything and when she finished her voice got shakey which I knew meant she was about to cry, "Serena please don't cry" I said putting her head on my chest,"it's so hard to see him with someone that's not my mom Benny" she says stuttering trying to keep it together. "Hey listen to me, it gets better" I said lifting her face up.

"How about we do something fun?" I ask standing up. "Like what?" "Ummm we can build a fort!" I said pulling her up from the floor, "ok sure" Serena said wiping her tears off her face." "Ok I'll get the snacks from downstairs and you get the blankets and chairs!" I said unlocking the door, she nodded and we went to go do our things.

I walked to the kitchen and there was Serena's dad and Catalina, "how's she doing?" He asks sping coffee from his cup, "she's ok, I'm just distracting her for now" I said smiling. I barged into thier snack cabinet as if this was normal, it actually was since me and Serena always had movie nights when we were younger. I got all the snacks and smiled before I went upstairs to Serena's dad and Catalina.

"Omg Serena open the door now! I'm about to drop everything" I said struggling to open the door, Serena opens it and I drop everything and as soon as I did she lost it and started laughing uncontrollably, "it's not funny" I said laughing at her. " it very much is" she says bending down to help pick up stuff.

As I finished picking up the stuff I see the fort already made, "you built the fort with me?" I said pouting, "oopsies" "ya oopsies you know that my favorite part" "be quiet" she says pushing me, "oh yeah? You wanna play the pushing game?" I said shoving her. We start play fighting till she falls on her bed and I have her wrist pinned down on the bed. "Uhhh" I said getting off of her, she giggles and dosnt say anything. I smiled, 'why can't she be mine' I thought to myself.

We went inside the fort and watched a lot of Netflix. To be honest I wasn't even paying attention to the movie but I had all my attention on Serena and they way she'd laugh at the stupid parts in the movie. "How about we watch a scary movie now?" I suggest. She gave me that nervous look, "oh stop being such a baby, I'll protect you" I said smiling, "fine" she said rolling her eyes.

My mom told me and said it was time to come home. By the end of the movie Serena was all cuddled up next to me. I stood up from the fort, "where you going?" She says sitting up, "my mom says I need to come homeeeeee" "whyyyy" she says sadly, i found it cute and smiled "I'll see you tomorrow! We can hang out all day at the fair!" I said excitedly. "Fineee" she says standing up. She stuck her arms out for a hug, of course I give her one and pick her off the floor. "Can we FaceTime when you get home?" She and holding my hands, "of course" I smiled.

I got home and got confortable in my bed, I FaceTimed Serena just like she wanted to, even though I was gonna go sleep I wouldn't pass up an opportunity to see her beautiful face and green eyes. "Heyyyy" she says giggling, "heyyyy" i said back.

We talked for about an hour and she eventually fell asleep on FaceTime. I admired her long eye lashes and how soft her little snores, it made me warm inside, "I love you", i hung up the call and laid my phone on my chest. 'I can't believe I said that out loud', i thought to myself, good thing she was asleep.

The whole night I could only think of her. I was planning a surprise in my head for her, so much thinking made me fall asleep...
