~Draco's POV~
I was beyond worried after Femi snapped at Axel and stormed outside. The fact that there were rogues out there made me even more worried. But I knew I shouldn't underestimate her. She wasn't a damsel in distress, she could handle herself.
"Should we go after her?" asked Axel, stressed.
"No, we shouldn't. She just needs some air." I answered, shaking my head. Felix hummed in agreement. But that did not cease his worries one bit.
"Even if there are rogues out there, I'm confident that she can fend them off." I continued.
"She is not some damsel in distress. She doesn't need rescuing, she does the rescuing." Felix piped in, lifting an eyebrow, chuckling.
"Alright, fine. But if she doesn't come back in a few-" started Axel, but was interrupted by the ground shaking. All of our eyes darted around in alarm. The student body started to shuffle around anxiously.
"Let's go outside and see what's happening." said Felix, already heading towards the exit. I nodded at Axel and we both followed him out. What we saw next surprised all of us.
Femi was there clad with her horns and tail but that's not all. She was f*cking consuming dark red flames.
"Oh, sh*t. She's eating hellfire." Felix said, his eyes wide. I and Axel looked at each other, our eyes widened in shock as well. All supernaturals know that hellfire is extremely deadly. Any living thing that touches it dies and turns to ashes. From what I've read in books, hellfire is only found in the barren parts of Hell as nothing can survive anywhere near it.
"What the f*ck is it doing in the mortal world? And why the f*ck is she eating it??! Shouldn't we help her?!?" exclaimed Axel, ready to sprint over there and save her.
"Wait, Axel. Look closer. It doesn't look like it's hurting her in any way. She isn't decaying like the other living things that touch it." said Felix, furrowing his eyebrows. Sure enough, I looked closer and saw that she was not hurt. Nor dead. Nor did she turn into ashes.
"I think we should just observe first. If things get too out of hand we'll dive in and help her." I said. Axel slowly took deep breaths and rubbed his temple to calm down.
All of our eyes almost popped out of their sockets when she had run toward the rogues and spirits, somehow yielding the hellfire and hurled it towards them. I could hear her laughing maniacally. Jesus Christ, this woman scares me.
They tried to dodge but it had grazed them and they immediately turned to ashes on contact. The rest of them slowly backed away but no, Femi was not allowing them to escape as she hurled another ball of fire towards them. Ashes. Another ball of hellfire. More ashes. Until there was only one left.
She grabbed the spirit and it seemed like she was threatening it, a wicked smile on her face. She let it go and it scurried away, its imaginary tail tucked between its legs.
"Don't mess with Femi. Noted." Felix, his eyes still as wide as saucers. Axel and I chuckled nervously.
I won't be arguing with Femi anytime soon. Who knows when she'll threaten me with hellfire.
~Felix's POV~
We went home early as the dean didn't know if the rogues were coming back or not and he didn't want to take any chances so he sent us home. I mean, I'm not complaining.
No one knew what had caused the rogues to disappear, nor why there was a sudden earthquake. It was as if the world didn't want people to know of Femi's powers. Which is honestly great because we didn't have to do the hiding of her powers ourselves.
Femi and I went back to our apartment while the other guys went back to theirs. They did try to invite themselves over, which Femi said no to. She said that we needed "Best Friend Time" which I smiled at. We had promised each other way back in middle school that bros would come before h*es. Seems she still remembers.
We were lounging on our couch like normal bros until Femi's phone went off with notifications. I saw her scowl but other than that, she paid no mind to it.
We were binge-watching our favorite anime that we discovered in middle school. This was probably the thousandth time we rewatched it but it's still so good.
"Elias is still babe though." Femi said, wiggling her eyebrows. If you were wondering, the anime we were watching was called The Ancient Magus Bride.
"Hey, my baby Ruth needs some love too." I said, chuckling. Yes, we still had crushes on 2-D anime guys. How can we not? They're literally better than real guys in every single aspect.
"Bro, Chise is still so nice even though she's been through hell. She doesn't care about herself. She puts other people before herself and that's just so...heart-warming." Femi said, sighing in content. I nodded. She and Chise were similar. They both put others before themselves, not caring if they got hurt protecting their loved ones.
And I think that's just beautiful.
*Author's Note: Ello people that were probably not looking forward to my updates because no one has even gotten this far except for my friend but she doesn't count. Don't know if you can notice but this chapter is way shorter than the other ones. My creative juices have not been flowing these days so that's why this chapter is like 600 words less than my other chapters. Usually for one chapter, I use about 7 pages on the google doc I write my draft on, with size 20 font. So right now, I have 115 pages on my doc. All my drafts are all together on one doc so yeah. 115 divided by 7 is 16.4285714286 so I would say I wrote about 16 to 17 chapters with my 115-page doc. Wow, math. I'm so smart. Just kidding I used a calculator.*
