i.f.l.y. 。luke patterson

Amy walked past Luke and I who stood at my locker, her eyes wavering over us with a slight glare, " What's her problem?" Luke crossed his arms, his head peeking into my locker as well.

"Personal space, Patterson." I hit his face with a textbook to push him away from me. "She's been like that for the past two weeks. Only talks to me in short sentences and that's just in class. It's pretty suffocating."

Just like his twin who passed by, Ollie looked towards us with the same attitude, Samantha hanging off his arm, yapping about goodness knows who. Unlike his sister, they decided to stop by us. Shit, I forgot Ollie and I put our lockers next to each other. I've been coming early every day that I was able to avoid him to the point that I totally forgot this detail.

My breath hitched as he popped up besides me, his arm brushing against mine. Typically that would make my heart race but all of it gave me right now is anxiety. Luke placed a hand on my arm to calm down which worked as my breathing steadied. " You two are pretty cute." Satan's child decided to speak and I ignored as I shut my locker. Luke and I were just about to leave before she opened her mouth again, " Funny how you downgraded."

"Please don't tell me that you're saying that when you're with a cheater. Luke has more human in him than the two of you."

"Slu-"

"And don't call me that when you were willing to be with the guy when you knew he was with another girl."

Luke made a sizzling sound with his teeth, me back kicking his shin to shut him up.

"Lay off, Y/N."  Ollie finally spoke up, slamming his locker close. Luke pushed me behind me but I still remained tall, " Funny how you're coming at me but here you are with Patterson two weeks after we ended things."

But the thing is we never actually ended what we had. All he did was disappear.

"How many times do I have to tell you that we're just friends? And even if I was with him, it's none of your business." I huffed before walking off without Luke. I didn't want to and I didn't need to agree with those two imbeciles. Luke caught up and quickly grabbed a hold of my bag. He accidentally yanked too hard because it was enough to spin me around and slam me into his chest. I held my forehead, " Shit dude." I whined as I rubbed what was probably a red spot on my forehead. " How much does your forehead weigh?" Luke rubbed his chest, almost looking like he was trying to find air. Passing by people looked at us weird but we were both in too much pain to care.

" Are you okay?" He asked between the dramatic deep breaths that was taking. " Yes, I'm okay. I just may have lost some of my brain but other that, my emotions still seem intact."

"I'm talking about Ollie and Samantha."

"Weren't you the one that told me not to care?"

Luke's infamous cocky smile appeared on his face before wrapping an arm around my shoulder, pulling me towards the classroom. He gave me a tap on the back before walking over to the other boys who simply waved at me. 

Amy was sitting in her usual spot that was in the front. This was a class where we didn't get to sit next to each other but I desperately wanted to rekindle our friendship. " Amy." She avoided my eyes as she tried to find a empty page in her notebook. " Did you want to go out later today?" I fiddled with the string of my skirt.

" I don't know..Samantha has been really hard on us at practice. Not that you would know." I felt my heart clench at the not so nice tone behind that but I shook it off. Play it nice, Y/N. " Hey, it's just been a while. We could go anywhere you'd like... and I'll pay.". Amy's head shot up at the suggestion. She licked her lips and sighed," Just make sure I'm home before 8."
