Chapter 26 ~ Back to Normal

Once I was dressed, I went in the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I brushed my hair out and put it up in a messy bun.

Once I was ready, I slid my shoes on and went downstairs. I went in the kitchen and wrapped my arms around Cal.

He turned around and kissed me. He said, "You look beautiful baby girl. Now go sit at the table and I'll bring you your breakfast."

I went over to the table and Cal came over with a plate of waffles and fruit and a cup of tea. He sat next to me and said, "I know that waffles are your favorite thing when you aren't feeling all that great."

"Thank you baby." He kissed the top of my head and we both at our breakfast.

Once we were finished, Cal went upstairs to get ready and I cleaned up the kitchen.

After everything was cleaned up, I went in the living room and waited for Cal. Soon he was downstairs and we left to go to our appointment.

Once we got to the doctor's office, we checked in and waited to get called back. After a few minutes we were called back and the nurse did all of the normal measurements.

She took us back to a room and said, "Dr. Smith will be in shortly." We nodded and she walked out.

Cal grabbed my hand and said, "How are you feeling baby?" "Well, um, nervous."

"Nervous about what?" "I don't know. Like I know the baby was healthy the last time we were here. But I'm just nervous."

"Don't get yourself stressed out." "I'm trying not to."

Soon Dr. Smith came in and said, "Laura. How are you sweetie?" "I'm doing well Dr. Smith."

"I'm glad to hear that. And how has the pregnancy been? Anything you're worried about?" "Um. No. Not that I can think of."

"Okay. Well let's go ahead and take a look at the baby." I laid down and she started the ultrasound.

She moved the wand around and said, "Oh. Well. It seems that you're actually having more than one baby." "I'm having twins?"

"Triplets actually." "Wait. What? How is that possible? Last time I was here there was only one."

"Well. Sometimes it can take until close to the end of the first trimester to see if there is more than one baby." "Are all three of them okay?"

"Yes. They're all okay. They're very healthy. I know the nurse told me that you had been experiencing a lot of morning sickness. That is more than likely due to the fact that you're carrying multiples." She turned on the sound and I heard all of my babies heartbeats.

"See. Nice, strong heartbeats." "Wow. That's amazing."

"So everything looks good. I will get your sonograms printed out and then you two will be free to go." I nodded and she walked out.

I wiped the gel off of my stomach and said, "Cal. Can you believe it? We're having triplets." "Wow. I did that."

I smiled at him and said, "Yeah baby. You did." He kissed me and said, "I love you."

"I love you more." Dr. Smith came back in and gave us everything, and then Cal and I went up front and made my next appointment.

We went out to the car and I said, "We need to tell our moms. Oh my gosh. This is so crazy." "You wanna call them when we get home?"

"Yeah. And then after we talk to them, we can tell my brothers. I know that if we tell them first, they'll tell mom before we can." "Alright. Can you text both of our moms and just tell them we're gonna do a group facetime call?"

"Sure baby." He started driving home and I texted both of our moms.

Once we got home we went inside and Cal grabbed his laptop so we could facetime our moms.

We called them and it didn't take long for them to pick up. Mom said, "So sweetie. What is the big news you two have to share with us? We rarely get these group facetime calls."

"Well. Um. As you both know, Cal and I had our second appointment today. And the doctor told us some news." Joy said, "Everything's okay, right?"

"Yeah. Everything's fine. But, um, Cal and I are actually having triplets." Mom said, "No way. You're having triplets!"

"Yeah." Joy said, "Oh my goodness. Three grandbabies to spoil."

We talked to them for a little while longer and then we ended the call. I laid back on Cal and said, "Can we call the boys over so we can tell them?" "Sure baby. When do you wanna tell your brothers?"

"I'm just gonna text them and tell them. I don't have the strength to deal with them in person." "Understandable."

I texted my brothers and Cal called the boys over. As soon as they walked in the door, Ash said, "So tell me the tea. I need to know why we were called over here."

Cal said, "Chill out dude." "But I wanna know."

I said, "Okay. If you guys just chill out. We'll tell you." They all sat down and looked at Cal and I.

"So. Um. You know that we had our appointment today. And the doctor informed us that I am pregnant with triplets." Luke said, "No way! Yes! I'm a god father to triplets."

All of the guys were so happy. We spent most of the day with them and they ended up going home around midnight.

After they left, Cal and I cleaned up the house and went to bed.
