It’s been a week since Tommy passed and I still feel the pain like it just happened two minutes ago. He went in to save me. He took a bullet because of me and now we are burying him today alone. He is still alone.

Why did he have to die just now that he found love? Why didn’t he get the chance to raise his kids? Love his wife? Get a normal job?

Hazel walks into the bedroom in a stunning black dress but her face is so dull and pale. She was still shocked at what happened and stayed up all night with me through my sleepless nights. She is still sacrificing for me and I don’t think I deserve such love.

“You look stunning babe" I said sincerely hugging her and slipping on her the polar bear necklace, it was all clean and sparkly now.

She stayed on me refusing to unlock her hand that was around my neck “thank you babe. And so do you" she replied placing a soft kiss on my lips before brushing off my jacket. Before running her hands through the necklace.

“Let’s go" she said heading downstairs and grabbing the white Roses on the kitchen counter. We both make our way to the burial site. Soon after Chase, Hazel, A very puffy eyes Vai and Joe arrive along with some of our men. The priest arrives later together with some men to lower the casket.

We all sit down as the priest recited the prayers and gives way for me to give me speech. I tense not sure if I could do it but hazel runs her hand on my arm giving me a small smile which I returned before getting up and moving to the stand.

“Good day everyone" I greeted clearing my throat pushing back the tears forming. “Tommy... was a man, he had a good and caring heart and loved deeply. He sometimes got on my nerves" I chuckled and the crowd did so too “but I wouldn’t choose any other person to be my best and only friend all those long 7 years. He was always there for me through the good and bad times, he was such a great shoulder to lean on and he passed no judgement no matter the situation which was what I found most comforting in him. I... we will miss him and on behalf of everyone here I want to say that we love you so much Tommy. Have a peaceful rest" I said smiling to stop myself from falling apart as I made my way back to my sit.

Vai was supposed to give a speech too but she was too much of a crying mess to do that. We watched silence as they lowered his casket to the ground and we threw our Roses down on it.

“Good bye brother. I’ll miss you" I said as my heart panged in pain.

Hazel rubbed my back in comfort as we both stared down at the casket. We stayed till it was completely put in and by now most people were gone.

We both made our way home with vai.  She and hazel walked together towards her house chatting for a bit before hazel came up to me.

“Hey baby" I greeted trying to sound fine.

“Hey baby. It’s okay” she said giving me an understanding smile and I silently thanked God for giving me this woman.

“I’ll like to stay with vai for a few days" she said asking my permission.

I needed her by my side but I knew vai needed her more so I agreed and she placed a small peck on my lips before heading back to vai and they both went inside.

Vai and I have been together for a week now and she seems off not mentally but health wise. She had been getting tired and having morning sickness. I suspect that she’s pregnant but I don’t to jump into conclusion so I pulled out a pregnancy test slip and wave it to her.
