"It was difficult to approach it, which is why I took so long getting back." He leans back, making his bed creak. "Kyurem was filled with anger. The poor thing."

You tilt your head to the side.

"I'm not sure why it was so upset, but I think I managed to calm it down. At least, I hope so."

Zoroark snorts and rolls over.

N smiles at him and gives him a little pat. "Why don't we go to sleep? We can discuss things further in the morning."

You nod and go to turn the lights off.

N puts a hand on your shoulder. "No need. I'll do it." He seems a little off after telling the story, but you don't think much of it as you crawl into the blankets.

The lights go out, and you hear N shuffle across the room over to his bed.

...

...

"Hey, Y/N?" N whispers. "Can I talk to you about something?"

"Sure, what is it?"

He takes a deep breath. "Kyurem told me about how it, alongside Reshiram and Zekrom, used to be one Pokémon. I was wondering what a Pokémon like that would be like. Of course, I don't intend to find out."

You've heard a few legends telling of one dragon being split into two, but never three.

"And so Kyurem was angry...because it was left as an empty husk when the two great dragons split."

"I see."

...

...

"Y/N?"

"Yes?"

"D-do you mind if I come over there?"

"Of course not. Go ahead."

You hear him mess around with his blankets, before he tiptoes over to your bed and slips in.

He wraps his arms around you and lets out a little sigh. "I'm a bit of a restless sleeper, especially when I'm worried about something, but I'm better if I'm with someone." You can sense him grin. "But if I kick you, you can just push me off."

You stifle a laugh. "I'm not going to do that."

You two fall asleep, and at some point, N finds your hand under the covers and holds it. As he drifts off, he snuggles in closer.

Good Arcoos he's so cute.

The next morning, you wake up before N, so you get to sit there in his arms until he wakes up.

A strand of green hair has fallen into his face, so you gently brush it away.

You look up at him, his features perfectly outlined by the morning sun. His eyes flutter, and he opens them

"Good morning my dear, did you sleep well?" He smiles and it's the cutest thing ever.

"I slept pretty good, you?"

He kisses your forehead. "Much better thanks to you." He pulls the blanket down and gets up, and you feel a lot colder.

With a sigh, you roll out of bed after him and give Liepard a couple pats.

"I was wondering," N says, pouring a cup of tea for you, "if you'd like to ride the ferris wheel with me today."

You perk right up. "I'd love to!"

He smiles again and hands you a steaming mug of herbal tea. "Then we'll get something to eat and head out."

N pours himself some tea and sits down beside you on the bed. He looks over at you affectionately. "I'm glad I can be with you. I'm glad we're finally together."

Words fail you, so you lean against him.

That seems to be all you two need as you finish your tea.

A few minutes later, you pick up some berries and munch them on the way to the ferris wheel, sharing them with Liepard and Zoroark.

N takes your hand and grins like a little kid. "C'mon! Let's get there so it isn't full!"

You can't help but share his excitement. "Slow down! It's so early nobody will be there!"

You have a point, but the two of you still run off hand in hand.

The streetlights are still on, and carnival vendors are just starting to set up their stalls.

The ferris wheel has just opened, and as you suspected, nobody's there. You and N get into a cart and sit beside each other.

"Haha, this brings back memories," N says, looking out the window. As the ride starts though, he looks at you.

You haven't been in the ferris wheel since you and N went on together after Zoroark pretended to stab you. Good times. You heat up a bit remembering what had happened after though.

N takes your hand, bringing you back to reality. "We've been together for a really long time, and I haven't told you something quite important." He gives you a look between finding that funny and finding that sad.

"And that is?" N rarely talks about himself, so you're excited at the fact you're about to learn something new about him.

"My real name. It's...not actually N. It's..." He blushes a bit. "It's Natural. Natural Harmonia-Gropius. I'd still prefer if you called me N though."

You wonder if he thought telling you that would magically make you stop loving him. You squeeze his hand. "Thank you for telling me. I'll still call you N if you want."

He looks a little stunned, then smiles and pulls you closer. "You're probably the first to know my name, other than father and the Sages."

"How lucky am I?"

His gaze falls to the floor of the cart. "I'm the lucky one...having met you."

Once again, his features are illuminated by the rising sun. He looks beautiful. Well, he always looks beautiful.

"I'm also glad you're here, N," you tell him.

He raises his head, like he didn't think you would say that. He shakes his head and hugs you tightly.

The hug goes on for a very long time, which you don't mind at all. The silence hasn't been awkward anymore, and you two are able to peacefully enjoy each other's company without needing to say anything.

Eventually N pulls away, then slowly leans in. He seems hesitant to kiss you at first, drawing it out, but he closes his eyes and lets his lips connect with yours.

He's soft and warm, and doesn't hold the kiss for long. He pulls back and rests a hand on your cheek, holding your gaze with gentle eyes.

The two of you leave the ferris wheel, holding hands and doing that thing where you swing your arms.

N looks up at the orange sky, then back at you.

"So, what'll we do now?" you ask.

"Meeting in Virbank, remembering the forgotten promise, awakening Reshiram and battling Zekrom... Everything up until now was a prologue. Our story begins here." He squeezes your hand. "I love you, Y/N."
