Jett noticed it was like a stereotypical mill. It had a small work space, with lots of charts of a river, beside the work space was an open kitchen. A pair of stairs lead upstairs but Jett raided the cupboards first, finding little. She groaned and kept her mouth shut so nothing revolting left her mouth.
"Find anything?" Newt called, not looking away from the river chart.
"Not much." Jett groaned. "A box of seven granola bars, a can of chunkie soup, four rotten apples, sunflower seeds and animal gummies."
Newt sighed as well. "How much does Radar have in his sack?"
"An empty water bottle, some protein bars and I think a few cans." Jett thought out loud. "Let's check upstairs."
Newt nodded and followed the teenage girl upstairs. The steps creaky and loud. The top floor was a wide, circle room. A few cots laid against the wall and a small dresser sprawled against the wall to its very best.
Jett felt her stomach turn. "We weren't the first people here."
Newt felt his face drop. "How do you know?" But he already knew the answer.
"It was a family." Jett whispered, looking into the dresser and going threw the close.
Newt walked around the small area, picking up photographs throw everywhere. "Two teenage girls, a little boy and a father it seems." He looked at Jett. "No mother?"
"Haven't you heard of divorce Newt?" Jett shook her head, pulling out some clothes.
He had heard of divorce but never thought to it.
Jett then looked at Newt, a look of confusion painted on her face. "You weren't born into WICKED, why don't you know some things?"
Newt's eyes twitched, his eye colour deepening. "They erased my mind Jett."
Jett's eyes widened. "Newt I swear I had no idea." But she didn't apologize.
"I don't want to talk about it." Newt said though Jett never offered to talk about it.
"Alright."
"We found some water!" Radar almost squealed from downstairs.
"Thank the lord." Jett laughed dryly. "I'm parched."
And Newt laughed too.
