When we arrive in Sokovia, we drop Thor and Bruce off at the old HYDRA base. Bruce needed to find Natasha and Thor needed to find out what Ultron's been building. Dad flies us into the city and lands the jet on the ground. He opens the back hatch and we all exit. Steve is about to put his helmet on but decides against it and throws it to the side.
"Pietro," Steve says. "I need you to go and get the police to evacuate the city."
"On it," he says. Before Steve can tell anyone to do anything else, Pietro picks me up and speeds off to the police station.
"Now, what if Steve needed me to do something," I say as we arrive.
"Then he'll just have to wait, princessa," he says. "Stay here." He then speeds into the station. "We're under attack! Clear the city! Now!" He speeds back out and turns around to see that they aren't doing anything. He takes one of the guns out of my thigh holster and runs back in. He shoots the bullets at the ceiling and says, "Get off your asses." I giggled at his behavior. He just sends me a goofy grin as he hands me my gun. I put it back in my thigh holster and he picks me up again. He speeds off again and drops me off with Wanda.
"We need to get everyone out of the city," she tells me. I give her a nod and start to manipulate anyone's mind I can find. I see the green glow of my powers float through the air. People start to come out of their homes, heading away from town. Steve is over on the bridge directing cars and trying to get traffic moving.
"Your man's in the church, boss," Tony's new AI, Friday, says. "I think he's waiting for you." I continue to help people get out of the city. The line was moving very slowly. I don't think everyone is going to get out in time, but we have to try. Wanda and I continue to manipulate people's minds.
"Come to confess your sins?" I can hear Ultron say through Tony's comms.
"I don't know," Tony replies. "How much time you got?"
"More than you," Ultron says.
"Uh... have you been juicing?" Tony asks. "Little vibranium cocktail. You're looking... I don't wanna say 'puffy'."
"You're stalling to protect the people," Ultron says.
"Well, that is the mission," Tony says. "Did you forget?"
"I've moved beyond your mission," Ultron replies. "I'm free. What? You think you were the only one stalling?"
"There's the rest of the vibranium. Function, still unclear." So there's vibranium in the church now. That's fucking fantastic.
"This is how you end, Tony," Ultron says. "This is peace in my time." Just after Ultron says this, robots start to crawl up out of the ground. Holy, shit. These are a lot more advanced than the iron legion. He's clearly upgraded. I shoot energy blasts at every bot I can get my hands on. I start to tear them apart piece by piece.
"Get off the bridge," Wanda tells people as we're trying to get through. Robots start shooting at the civilians, but Wanda and I shield them.
"Run!" I tell them. A robot shoots at Wanda causing her to lose her shield and fall to the ground. I help her up and we get back to fighting.
"Ultron," Vision says.
"My Vision," Ultron says. "They really did take everything from me." Wanda and I continue to fight alongside each other using our telekinetic abilities to rip the robots apart.
"You set the terms," Vision says. "You can change them."
"All right," Ultron says. Pietro zooms past us taking out every bot in his path. Show off.
"Friday, the Vision?" Tony asks.
"Boss, it's working," the AI replies. "He's burning Ultron out of the net. He won't escape through there."
"You shut me out," Ultron says to Vision. I shield Wanda from an oncoming robot and send an energy blast its way. "You think I care? You take away my world, I take away yours." What on earth does that mean? Whatever it is, it can't be good. At that moment, the ground starts to shake violently. Is this some sort of earthquake?
"What's happening?" I ask into comms.
"Friday?" Tony asks.
"Sokovia is going for a ride," she responds. Ok, well, the city is flying. That's something new. Haven't seen that before.
"Do you see the beauty of it?" Ultron asks. "The inevitability. You rise, only to fall. You, Avengers, you are my meteor. My swift and terrible sword. And the earth will crack with the weight of your failure. Purge me from your computers, turn my own flesh against me. It means nothing. When the dust settles. The only thing living in this world will be metal." Suddenly I hear Nat in the comms.
"I really hope this makes us even," she says to who I'm assuming is the Hulk/Bruce. "Now go be a hero." Thank god. She's okay. I tear several robots to shreds as I make my way down the streets with Wanda.
"The vibranium core's got a magnetic field," Friday says. "That's what's keeping the rock together."
"If it drops?" Tony asks.
"Right now the impact will kill thousands," the AI replies. "Once it gets high enough? Global extinction." Ok, shit, shit, shit. We're going to have to work fast if we want to get this done. "That buildings not clear. The tenth floor."
"Hi," I hear Tony say. "Okay. Get in the tub!"
"I got airborne heading up to the bridge," Friday says. As I feel my energy start to get low, I take out my guns and start shooting at the robots instead.
"Cap, you got incoming," Tony says,
"Incoming already came in," Steve groaned. "Stark, you worry about bringing the city back down safely. The rest of us have one job, tear these things apart. You get hurt, hurt them back. You get killed, walk it off."
"Yeah, 'cause that makes sense," I say. Wanda and I fight like our lives depended on it. They kinda do, but that's beside the point. I help civilians get inside to a safe place where they would be protected as much as they can be. Dad comes around the corner and starts to shoot arrows through the bots' heads.
"Go, go, go!" He tells us as robots start to charge. We run and crash through the window of a house. I put my guns back into their designated holders.
"How could I let this happen?" Wanda asks.
"Wanda, are you ok?" I ask her.
"This is all our fault," she says.
"Hey, look at me," Dad says to her. "It's your fault, it's everyone's fault. Who cares? Are you up for this? Are you? Look, I just need to know. Because the city is flying. Okay. Look, the city is flying, we're fighting an army of robots, and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense." Robots start to shoot at us through the door and Dad shoots arrows back at them. "But Y/n and I are going back out there because it's our job. Okay? And we can't do our job and babysit. It doesn't matter what you did or what you were. If you go out there, you fight, and you fight to kill. Stay in here, you're good. We'll send your brother to come find you. But if you step out that door, you are an Avenger. All right. Good chat." Dad and I get up to leave. I know Wanda will come to her senses. Dad is good at giving fatherly talks like that.
"Yeah, the city is flying," I say. Dad and I bust out of the door and start fighting all of the robots. He shoots arrows at them, while I shoot energy balls. And I also kind of tear them to shreds. That too, you know.
"I got you," I hear Steve say. "Just look at me." Steve is always the consoling type. If that was me I would probably just tell them to hang on and shut up. I'm not usually a person for the sentiment. Even though there has been someone lately making me rethink that.
"You can't save them all," I hear a bot say over Steve's comms. "You'll never..."
"Never what?" Steve said. "You didn't finish!" I assume Steve took down the bot in some form. "What, we're you napping?" I don't know who he said this to, but it seems like something he would say. Well, I guess clearly cause he just said it. Kind of stated the obvious there. Dad continues to shoot arrows at the robots, not missing once. I use my powers to shut some of the bots down that are in a short range. Dad jumps to hide behind a piece of debris landing on his back.
"Ow!" He said.
"Quit whining and get over it," I told him. He glares at me but stops at we realize that robots were surrounding us. I put up a force field to protect us from the blasts that I knew were about to come. Just as they were about to start shooting at us, Wanda comes out of the house. She takes some of the bots down, allowing me to take my force field down and start fighting again. We take down the last of the robots in our area and start to walk elsewhere.
"All right, we're all clear here," Dad says into comms.
"We are not clear!" Steve says. "We are very not clear!"
"All right, coming to you," dad replies. Pietro then comes speeding to where we are and picks up Wanda. He speeds back off, taking her to the fight. He comes back once again and picks me up.
"Keep up, old man!" He told Dad, as we sped off. Only we didn't go back to the fight. Pietro stopped us in an alleyway, allowing us to take a short break for a second.
"Nobody would know," we hear Dad say. "Nobody. The last I saw him, an Ultron was sitting on him. Yeah, he'll be missed that quick little bastard. I miss him already." Pietro and I laugh at his comment and I see him turn off his earpiece. I turn mine off also so that we can talk in private.
"This is getting out of hand," I say. "I don't know how we are going to get out of this."
"I know, princessa," he says as he engulfs me in a hug. It feels like his arms were made to be around me. "I need you to be careful. The robots keep piling up more and more. I don't know how much longer we will be able to hold them off."
"I'll be careful," I tell him. "You better be too or it'll be your ass." He just chuckles at my comment and smiles at me. God, that smile makes me blush. I look to the ground trying to avoid his gaze. He grabs my hand causing my attention to be back on him. I look into his eyes and see everything I've ever wanted. His hands find their way around my waist and mine on his neck. He leans in towards me and we're suddenly enveloped in a passionate kiss. We kiss each other like it will be the last time because who knows? It might be. Our lips mold with so much desire and need for one another. His hands pull me closer to him, never wanting to let go. I let out a small moan at this action and he takes this as his opportunity to stick his tongue in my mouth. We're in a battle for dominance, entranced with everlasting lust. I can sense a robot coming up on us and I tear it apart with my powers, not breaking the kiss. After a few more seconds, I start to pull away. "As much as I'm enjoying this, I don't think that now is the best time."
"Yes, of course," Pietro replies. "We will just have to pick it up another time." He winks at me and picks me up again. We both turn on our earpieces and speed off to the battle.
