She mostly have the same appearances as her mother as she has jet black hair, her eyebrows are a little bit higher, her complexion is significantly lighter and the same eye color as her mother. Her hair is tied by a red bandana and loosely done up in a braid with the ends resembling curved black feathers. A cowlick can be seen protruding from the top of her head, similar to that of her twin and her mother.

(Corvid form) - As a corvid, Yin is similar to Rave, her mother and her uncle's corvid form, only lacking the boys head feathers. She transforms into a raven rather then a crow and smaller vision of Nevermore, similar to her mother's.

Personality - Despite being raised by her mother and becoming just like her mother, Yin is cynical, patronizing, selfish and stubborn. She never believed her mother's act of "kindness" of saving her twin's life from Neopolitan was sufficient despite having her mother took her and left yank at a very young age and she refused to protect her twin when in a meet after that. Yin is intended to be more intimidating the less you know about her.
Yin has been following her mother's footsteps and always admired her mother as her hero, especially that she is her mother's favorite child so far. Yin is becoming just like her mother and wanted to be led as the new leader when the time comes, in order to achieve those goals, she must follow her mother's footsteps despite being raised and trained in order to survive and to be survivor and mostly to become stronger at all times. She mostly have most of her mother's personalities.
But she also has a fear of Salem is so great that she chose neither to stand or to run from it all after deming the fight unwinnable. She is even really to risk her uncle and her sisters' life in to get assessed to the relic of knowledge in hopes of warding off Salem. As Yang and Roxas both pointed out, Yin and Raven' s definition of strength is shallow. Despite of their own powers, they both chooses to run away from their problems instead of facing them, sacrificing others as shields to gain themselves advantages. In the end, Yin's survival and her mother's survival of the fittest philosophy or just a facade to hide their fears of Salem and their own other insecurities that one is heavily implied to be a fear of being a mother and a sister.
For what she has become as dangerous and hostile, just like her mother, though her uncle continued to care for her and sometimes they stayed in touch, though she simply only contacted her uncle and Roxas to get information from them. When Roxas confronted her on her setting a trap for him, her uncle and her sisters and renouncing her as a family. Yin went as far as implying that she may have never seen her other side of the family as family. She always believes that her mother is right and especially that her mother told her the stories about everything that she knew. She believes that Ozpin is not the man her sisters both thinks he is and condemns those who trust him, such as her uncle, her father and her sisters.
Because of her prideful and self-centered mentality, Yin often fails to measure the consequences of her own actions, such as her attempt to manipulate her twin into staying with her and her mother and to distrust their uncle and Ozpin, revealing Salem's existence and revealing that her uncle and his little professional huntsman and huntresses exposing them and insulting their uncle and their father, which only reinforced her twins determination to reunite with their uncle and their little sister and reject Yin and Raven further. She also advised her twin and Roxas to question everything which eventually cost them to question her and Raven's own motives and actions. She also devised a plan to get the relic of knowledge to keep Salem away from the tribe while overlooking the fact that it would only cost her and the tribe to become a great target for her.
According to Roxas, Yin has a very skewed definition of what a family means, the exact same definition of what her mother said before. Despite having constantly watched over Yang in her corvid form and sometimes with or without her mother, Yin never took apart in her sister's life or try to meet her in spite of her semblance, but deep down, she really wanted to meet her family such much of what she really wants to meet them but she knows that that will never happen because she doesn't want to end up a traitor like her uncle for leaving the tribe. With Roxas, the only reason she would visit him was only when she needed something from him rather than trying to maintain or reestablish a good relationship with him. When reunited with Yang and finally met her for the first time, Yin used a theatrical attitude trying to be welcoming to Yang and Roxas by praising them and offering hospitality, only to drop the act after Yang stated that she wasn't here for her and their mother.
She also does not understand why Yang and Roxas both chose to stay with their former teammates despite how close they both have becoming with them, as well as underestimating how far Yang and Roxas would both go for Ruby by trying to scare or convince them with knowledge about Ozpin and Salem, which instead only reinforced their own determination to reunite and protect Ruby.
Yet despite her ruthless and immoral behavior, Yin isn't totally devoid of morality as she showed some regret for her actions, such as the treatment of her family and for not helping the previous Spring Maiden. When watching her mother battling Cinder, she is also disgusted by her complete lack of scruples in her quest for power, calling her out for having me come a monster by getting a Grimm arm. However because of her pride, Yin often tried to deny her true feelings, hiding it behind an aloof attitude. She also states Vernal that she did not care about her twins and the rest of the other side of the family being in danger due to her mother's plan even though her body language said otherwise. Likewise, when Ruby made a proposal for her and Raven to join them, she showed an instance of vulnerability, before hiding it and dismissing her entirely.
Yin is just like her mother with same appearances and mostly same personalities that she inherited. The question that Yang asked Raven if she killed her previous self including Yin's previous self too, caused Yin to be shocked and looked away, indicating that Raven was once a braver, more in realistic woman before leaving and before raising Yin to become just like her mother's new self.
After defeating Cinder, Yin shows of soccer side, taking the time to close the deceased Vernal's eyes and thank her for her service alongside with her mother. The side of her is further shown in which she, her twin, Raven and Roxas share an emotional conversation. After Yang calls Raven out for killing the former Spring Maiden and Roxas calls Yin for not helping the former Spring Maiden, cowardice and hypocrisy in refusing to fight Salem and Yin determined that she wanted to kill Rave since she knew who and what he really is, being furious at her sister and Roxas for them protecting Rave, but not knowing the whole thing about Rave and for showing a callous interference to her own twin's well-being, Yin once more begs her twin and Roxas to stay out of the war against Salem, but to no avail. Yin subsequently breaks down in tears, apologizing to Yang before fleeing away with her mother who felt the same way.
