"WHAT!? NAGI WENT INTO THE CAFE? AND HE'S FRIENDS WITH REO?!" Aoi asked but more like shouted at you as she slammed her hands on her study table.
You covered your ears from the loud noise which started ringing.
"Yeah," You answered as you were folding your clothes and putting them in the drawer. It's currently 8:00 in the evening and Aoi is in your room to talk to you about a topic.
"What is it you want to talk about?"
"A little birdie told me that someone has taken a liking to Reo" She grins as she places her hand on both your shoulders.
You turned your head back and lightly chuckled. "I'm not sure though...I think I'm just attracted to him..." you muttered shyly.
She squealed and shook you making you dizzy. "I better have him as a brother-in-law." She stated but you just ignore her thinking that she's just overreacting.
"I HATE YOU!" You yelled to your mom as you closed the door. Tears are flowing down your cheeks. There was a school event and your parents didn't attend because they were too busy. Your dad was on his business trip overseas and your mom is going somewhere. It was parents' day for god's sake.
You recall the events earlier every kid in your class had their parents present. You awkwardly sat on your chair with your head hung low.
'That poor kid'
'I wonder where her parents are'
'Money can't buy you happiness son remember that.'
You heard a man say and in the corner of your eyes, you saw him pointing at you. This is humiliating you thought. You clenched your fist and felt your nails digging into your skin.
"Looks like the spoiled brat doesn't have her parents"
The event started and you were asked to play in the sack race.
'You can do it, honey'
'Just a few more jumps son!'
'I believe in you!'
Words of encouragement were heard in the crowd as their kids jumped. You tried your best and jumped despite falling multiple times. When the other kids finished they were hugged by their parents.
Unable to focus you tripped one more time before giving up. You panted heavily tears threatening to fall out.
"YOU CAN DO IT Y/N!"
Your eyes widened reacting to the familiar voice you looked around to find the source and there it was, a few jumps ahead of you.
"HURRY!"
It was your sister Nomi wearing her middle school uniform. With that, you pick up the sack and continue the race. You were hugged by her after you crossed the finish line.
"What about your school?" You panted as you broke off the hug. She ruffled your hair which is a habit that she picked up from F/n.
"Don't worry about that. C'mon, let's get you some ice cream." She smiles and holds your hands. You're still angry about your parents but still keep quiet not wanting to ruin the mood.
As you got home the feeling of anger flared up when you saw your mom who looked like just gotten back from somewhere.
You heard a soft knock on the door and called your name. It was your sister you opened the door and took a peak. Behind her is M/n with your favorite snack she gives you an apology look.
"Can we enter? I wanna apologize." She stated.
You opened the door and let them enter. You hate this feeling after you yell at your parents whenever they do something you do not like and they always apologize despite you being the one who wronged them.
"I'm sorry." You uttered and sat on the bed beside your sister. "I'm sorry for making you feel that way, my dear." M/n crouched down and looked up at you as you fidgeted with your fingers avoiding eye contact.
"I love you my baby and I didn't realize that it was today...that's why I asked your sister to come over. I was at the hospital earlier."
Your eyes widened and looked at your mom. "Did you get hurt? Have a disease?"
Your sister chuckled and you looked at her confused.
"You're having a baby sibling." Your mom smiled. You immediately hugged her burying your face on her shoulder she hugged you back and didn't mind the snot on her clothes.
Nomi also joined the hug and after that, she made fun of your puffy eyes. The fetus is 3 months old and looking healthy. Every night you and Nomi always read bedtime stories for the fetus.
"Are you hungry fetus?" You asked and rubbed your mom's tummy. Your mom chuckled "You can't keep calling her that." Nomi stated as she drank her coffee while writing on the paper.
"Why don't you come up with a name?" M/n suggested to Nomi who was busy scribbling. You stood up to get your phone on her table but accidentally spilled a bit of coffee on her paper.
"I'm sorry Im sorry Im sorry Im so sorry!" You repeatedly apologized and got tissues. She was sad but she reassured you it's ok.
"Are you sure?" You asked her worried. She gently pats the paper with the tissues and reassures you again. She glanced at m/n and smiled.
"I wanna name it Aoi." It's a good name. It can be a boy's or a girl's name. During this time the gender of the baby is still unknown that's why she chooses a gender neutral.
She would've loved to hear that she's having another little sister.
It was summer. The sun is radiating heat on the beach specifically your private beach which your parents own in Hawaii. You were wearing a white shirt and light blue shorts.
Your parents decided to have a family trip since Nomi just graduated middle school. She's currently in the shade watching over you while she eats an ice cream.
You played with the sand but you soon got bored. "I wanna play in the ocean!" You informed her and she wanted to join as well.
Hours have passed and Nomi began to feel tired but you're still full of energy. "We better go back before the sun sets down." She stated. You pouted but followed her orders.
You respected her a lot looked up to her and aspire to be someone like her brave and kind.
As you swim towards the shore Nomi's leg felt cold and heavy. You heard water splashing behind you and saw her struggling to swim.
"H-hey are you ok?" You asked her and quickly swam in her direction not noticing the big wave behind her you only realized it when you were hit by the large wave.
You tried to look for her on the surface but she's nowhere to be found. You dive into the water and see her reaching her hand out.
'Im gonna save you'
You desperately swam to her but as you got closer you noticed her losing consciousness and sinking deeper in the water.
You suddenly felt the lack of oxygen in your body but if you went to the surface now you'd lose her but if you're gonna continue to swim you're gonna die.
You made up your mind and decided to swim up but it was too late you began to feel suffocated. With that, you blacked out.
"I'm sorry about what happened to your daughter." A police officer was talking to F/n who has visible bags in his swollen eyes from crying since last night and m/n isn't doing any better.
You sat in your hospital bed unable to comprehend what happened.
"Beach, sea, swim, play, Nomi" you mumbled repeatedly and the nurse looked at you with a concerned expression.
"My sister is taken here with me right?" You glanced at her with a forced smile.
She avoided eye contact. It was your 5th time asking her that but she already answered your question earlier.
Deep inside you know the truth but you're still in denial. Moving on is hard in your family. It wasn't the same afterwards but everyone is trying their best to be strong for each other.
A few months after that Aoi was born. "Look it's your baby sister." Your mom sobbed with your dad as she held the baby.
You took a peek and it was a small being. She looks so pure, innocent, and peaceful. You felt warm tears streaming down your face. You tap at her fingers and her tiny hand holds onto your index finger.
'I will be a good sister Nomi just like you.'
"Look Nomi it's our baby sister."
