~Chapter 66~
Another day ahead, don't wanna leave the bed, and it couldn't apply for Felix who woke at five in the morning exactly. The sun was shining brightly outside but also the chilli air floating. As the curtains floated, Felix's eyes opened slightly but surely. He rambled in his spot just to get a growl from his alpha who had cocooned him in his embrace.
Felix slightly rubbed his eyes, moving his head towards the alpha who was slightly whimpering, snuggling in his neck. Was he asleep or what? Felix thought for a while before he tried to push him just to make Hyunjin to tighten his grip at Omega's small frame.
"Where are you going?" The alpha whispered, his voice deep sending shivers throughout Felix's spine. "I don't know, probably downstairs," Felix answered, catching some breath.
"This is too early, get some more sleep," Hyunjin mumbled, eyes still closed, he shifted a little closer to Felix. Felix sighed pushing the Alpha's hand away from his body but failing, "I can't. I should even form a habit of it because in a few days my school and classes will start," he sighed.
Hyunjin just groaned in displeasure, he might say to Felix 'leave studies and your job I can feed you the whole life' but he knew Felix would rather leave him than his studies and a job that he has got as a highschool teacher.
"You're too packed, will there be any time for your hubby?" Hyunjin asked, pouting, mumbling in his raspy voice, he again spoke, "you sleep at night early and wake up in the morning early, go to your morning classes and then school, where is there any schedule for your husband?"
Felix looked at Hyunjin, the Alpha's expression was gloomy as if he was displeased, Felix softly ruffled his hair, he didn't speak for a moment kind of losting in his own thoughts.
This is why he didn't want to get married earlier, not until he settled in his life properly, now he has to look for everything, from his studies to his work, and also taking responsibility as the wife of Hwang family's son and all together he forgot to specify his time that he has to give to his husband, the most important.
As Felix didn't answer, Hyunjin slightly frowned flickering his gaze up to Omega's face. Hyunjin's frown deepened as he saw Felix lost in thought, not responding. He shifted slightly, propping himself up on one elbow, his face softening as he studied Felix's expression.
"Hey," Hyunjin murmured, his voice gentler now, "I'm not upset... I just want to spend more time with you." His hand moved to Felix's cheek, cupping it softly. "I know you're busy, and I love that you're working so hard, but sometimes I feel like I'm not a priority."
Felix's gaze fell upon the alpha, his expression soft, well he himself didn't have any idea what his priorities were, work, study and his dream but his husband? he stared at Hyunjin's face for a moment, a warm smile on Alpha's lips that was kind of assuring. "It's not..." Felix mumbled.
"You're a very important person of my life Hyunjin, that's all I know..... and of course you're my priority, you're my husband," Felix said, he wasn't planning to say it all but he said, before wrapping his arms around Alpha's shoulder, he muffled his face on his neck. Hyunjin blankly stayed like this, before he held his husband, lowering his gaze to the Omega.
"What about you?" Hyunjin slightly flinched at the Omega's sudden question. He slightly ruffled his hair. But... really what is Hyunjin's priorities. His work? His passion? Or his mother? His mother...
Was she his priority? Of course she is, after all she is his mother who he respect the most, who he wants to make happy forever. But...his husband, his Omega? It felt like he got asked the question if your mother and your wife drained in a sea who will you save first?
It wasn't even the matter to take seriously because everyone is important in his life, he needs everyone.
As Hyunjin didn't answer for a long time, the omega pulled back, of course he hadn't anticipated that the alpha calls him his priority right after when he has his family before the Omega. Felix softly smiled, as he pecked on Hyunjin's lips taking him out from his thoughts, "Don't think too much, it's not that important." He says before pulling back more, "get some more sleep I'm going to downstairs," Felix declared before rushing out from the bed leaving Hyunjin with his thoughts.
Hyunjin watched Felix dissappering from his sight, he felt like he lost the warmth right after. He took a deep breath before he mumbled to himself, "of course you."
Felix walked through the stairs, the hall was empty so no one has wake, just few maids cleaning and doing chores here and there. He looked around, all the things were done by maids so what specially he has to do he thought before entering the kitchen.
Mr. Hwang was there who was chugging down the water, his attention turned to Felix right after. "Good morning Felix, you wake up early" Mr. Hwang asked with his usual playful tone, placing the waterbottel in refrigerator.
"Good morning dad, where are you going?" Felix asked in amusement, as he saw his father-in-law in a jercy and shorts with sneakers.
"I'm going to jog, wanna join?," Mr. Hwang immediately asked. Felix grimaced, finding it surprising that Mr. Hwang was this fit in this age, he laughed a little, "of course I'd love to, since I don't have any specific to do here," he shuggered looking around and some maids were preparing breakfast there.
Mr. Hwang chuckled, "finally I got my fitness partner, you know your husband is so lazy, I ask him everytime and he be like 'no dad let me sleep more', Mr. Hwang imitated his son. Felix laughed at how adorable he was.
"God knows how he has that body while he does no exercise," Mr. Hwang sighed, walking to Felix. Felix just shuggered well he would held mr. Hwang's hands while he says of course your son is a boxer that's why he has that body.
"Let's go then."
"Sure."
Felix slipped into his sneakers and joined Mr. Hwang outside for the morning jog. The crisp air greeted them, invigorating Felix as they started a slow pace around the estate. Mr. Hwang was surprisingly energetic for his age, and Felix found himself admiring the older man's stamina.
"You know," Mr. Hwang began, breaking the silence, "it's important to take care of both your body and your relationships. Balance is key." He glanced at Felix with a knowing smile, as if sensing the weight on Felix's mind.
Felix smiled softly, nodding. "Yeah, I've been thinking about that a lot lately."
Mr. Hwang chuckled, "Hyunjin's lucky to have you, but you don't have to stretch yourself too thin, son. We all need to make time for what matters most."
Felix took in his words, reflecting on his conversation with Hyunjin earlier. Maybe it was time to re-evaluate how he was managing his responsibilities, making sure not to neglect the things—or people—that were most important to him.
They jogged in comfortable silence for a while, the sound of their footsteps mingling with the early morning breeze. Felix felt lighter, as if this simple run had cleared some of the clouds in his mind.
Their lungs filled up with fresh air, the sky was clear, there were few noises than usual. Felix took deep breaths, calming his senses. Mr. Hwang is a fun person to hangout with he joked around even could adjust with the people of different age groups.
"Let's take a break." Mr. Hwang said, halting at a park, there were more people working out. Felix stopped with him, his face had brightened up a small smile tugged on his face. He bend, panting for a moment, "okay," he answered.
They sat on a bench at a side of the park, chugging down the water. As they caught their breath, Mr. Hwang leaned back on the bench, eyes scanning the park with a relaxed smile. "You know, Felix," he began, "life can feel like a constant run, always moving from one thing to another. But it's in moments like these, when we pause, that we find clarity."
Felix hummed, scanning the park as well. His breathing relax as he took in the words of his Father-in-law, he smiled to himself before again got called by Mr. Hwang. "Son, I'm planning to surprise my wife," Mr. Hwang declared, narrowing his eyes.
Felix widened his eyes in surprise, "wow, that's sounds amazing. What do you want to surprise her with?" Felix asked curiously. Mr. Hwang Chuckled, "what an woman wishes for?" He asked changing his glance to Felix, Felix thought for a while.
"I don't know? Mhm..some good treats? Dresses? Makeup?" Felix said, scrunching his eyes. Mr. Hwang nodded, "but I think an woman mostly wish for a handsome husband," as Mr. Hwang said in laughter, Felix looked at him confused, what it supposed to mean?
Mr. Hwang looked at his confused face with a chuckle, "what if I colour my hair as black, look there are so many white hair and I am looking old," Felix laughed at his Father-in-law's complain.
"Mhm.. that's a really great idea, mom will be surprised when she'll see you Young again," Felix joked, Mr. Hwang laughed with him. "Then let's go to the salon."
They got up from the bench, jogging again. Towards a nearest salon from there. Felix was content that coming with his father-in-law for jogging was great. And his idea was also great, since Mrs. Hwang hadn't been in good moods lately, it'll maybe help her to lighten up her mood.
As soon as they reached a salon they entered. Mr. Hwang looked around, inspecting the salon. "Let's make this quick," he said, still in good spirits. Felix chuckled as they approached the counter. The salon staff greeted them with warm smiles, and soon Mr. Hwang was settled into a chair, getting ready for his transformation.
While Mr. Hwang chatted away with the stylist, Felix found himself lost in thought again. His conversation with Hyunjin earlier kept resurfacing in his mind. Hyunjin was right—between his studies, work, and responsibilities, he'd been neglecting the one person who stood by his side through everything. He smiled to himself. Hyunjin always acted tough, but deep down, he craved that closeness and time together.
"Felix!" Mr. Hwang's voice snapped him out of his reverie. He turned to see his father-in-law, now with a fresh, youthful look as his hair had been dyed back to black. Mr. Hwang grinned, looking pleased with the results. "What do you think? Will your mom like it?"
Felix smiled warmly. "She's going to love it. You look amazing, dad."
Mr. Hwang winked. "I hope so! Now let's head back. I'm sure she's up by now, and we don't want her to find out before the surprise."
As they left the salon and jogged back, Felix felt a sense of lightness. Spending time with his father-in-law, reflecting on his relationship with Hyunjin, and seeing Mr. Hwang’s efforts to surprise his wife—it all reminded him of the importance of nurturing relationships.
By the time they returned home, Felix felt ready to put more effort into his own marriage. He made a mental note to carve out time for Hyunjin, just as Mr. Hwang had reminded him—to balance work, relationships, and the things that truly matter.
As soon as they reached upto the home, Mr. Hwang and Felix laughed. "This was amazing, I can't wait to see mom's reaction to your new look dad," they chatted as the entered the mansion. Mr. Hwang laughed, "she will probably be shocked, let me make a surprise, don't tell her," Felix nodded, giggling quietly as they entered to the kitchen to grab some water, just to find Mrs. Hwang there.
Felix snickered, curious to see Mrs. Hwang's reaction on his husband but she acted normal, and gave a cold glare to Felix, whose smile immediately faltered.
"Where have you been?" She asked curtly, frowning. Felix trembled slightly with the pitch of her voice that he couldn't even give a simple answer, "we went for jogging," Mr. Hwang replied casually before Felix could say something.
"I'm not asking you," Mrs. Hwang raised her voice to her husband taking Felix and Mr. Hwang off guard. Felix with his thumping heart looked at Mrs. Hwang, "Did you hear what I asked?" Her voice venomous. Felix took a deep breath, "right, we went for jogging," he changed a quick surprised glance at Mr. Hwang.
"With your Father in law? Don't have any sense of idea about who you should get close to or who not?" Felix stood there startled as well as Mr. Hwang.
"You're just laughing with your father-in-law so casually? He is your husband's dad not your some cheap bestie."
"Jia, what are you saying? He is like our son," Mr. Hwang intervened, "you keep your mouth shut whenever I'm teaching kids to behave," Mr. Hwang went shut when her wife's voice got raised up.
She again changed her glance to him, Felix was trying hard to suppress his wails, he didn't have anticipated that Mrs. Hwang would put this allegation to him, "and what's there important for you to jog? You don't have to seduce any alpha as you have your own husband, stay at home and learn chores." (How to say 'shut the fuck up bitch' in different languages)
Felix's head hung low, he bit his lips, "I'm sorry mom," Mrs. Hwang rolled her eyes. "Sorry won't work every time, you're not a kid, be a responsible person." She said firmly.
Felix couldn't say anything just nodded, he wished he won't come back from where he went, in a corner of his heart he felt like shit as how irresponsible he seemed.
"I'm going to wake up my son," Jia announced eyeing over Felix with curt eyes but this time Felix spoke, "you don't have to, I'll take care of my husband."
