Hailey pov:
It has been a few days after the competition and honestly it has been great. The club has been closer then ever and everything feels as it should be. I had gotten much closer to jake recently and I feel as I can trust him fully.
However. since the competition is finished this means that Jake is going to ask Daisy out.
Which wouldn't be much of a problem except that during the recent weeks, Jake and I had gotten close and I had unfortunately fallen for him.
If I'm being completely honest. I had always some what thought he was kinda cute. When I originally first met him I thought he was super cool however I quickly changed my mind after realising he was friends with Drew.
Then. He auditioned for the club and all the feelings rushed back. Of course when we had the whole fight I stoped liking him but as much as I hate to admit it, even when the whole audio situation happened I knew that wasn't it and I knew that couldn't be the end for us. Luckily I was right.
I think my feelings raised once more when we were singing together on stage.
There was this moment. Where we just stared into each others eyes and I felt like time had slowed down.
And recently Jake had been flirting with me as a joke more then ever.
I needed to get over him and quickly, before he dates Daisy and it twists the knife even harder, soo Milly agreed to helping me find a way to get over him.
"Milly that's crazy I'm not gonna sing him a confession song that will be so obvious plus I don't wanna sing to him" I cry gesturing with my hands
"Oh come on Hailey- you've said no to my other ideas!" The pink hair for frowns.
"Yes. Yes I did but your other ideas were just telling him up front, messaging him and other stuff I don't wanna do!!" I say losing hope.
We both go quiet for a while trying to think of something when suddenly Milly breaks the silence.
"OMG I HAVE AN IDEA" she screams sitting up again. I Look at her intrigued to what she will say.
"Okay so hear me out, I watched this movie where a girl wrote letters to her crushes and stuff and basically her sister sent them to the boys and she met her final love interest and-" Milly begins to rant
"Uh wait why would you out of anyone be watching a love movie-?" I ask a bit confused where this is going
"That's something for later ANYWAYS okay so what if you write a letter to Jake then send it to him while being anonymous?" She asks excitedly
"I.. well hm you know what okay fine this is probably the best we are gonna get-" I say giving in.
"YES!!" Milly screams.
that night I finished writing the letter, it wasn't the best because I was definitely not a writer but it got the main point across. In the letter it explained how I had liked him for a while however I needed to get over him now and that I will be keeping my identity a secret.
The next day I slid it into his locker hoping no one saw me and I wished for the best.

Jake pov:
While I may be good at singing something I'm not good at is being organised weather it's remembering music rehearsals or.. well keeping my stuff tidy.
The teachers had been asking me to clean out my locker for a while because when ever I opened it some stuff would fall out and it would make a mess..
"Okay wait so where's Hailey and the rest of the group-?" I ask Milly who was supposed to be helping me
"Uh I think they are sorting stuff out in my music room" she says watching me open my locker.
As I open the door to the locker, lose papers and note books start falling down and I flash Milly a worried face.
I stand still for a bit not knowing where to start when I notice a red envelope. "Huh. That was definitely not there before.." I think to my self.
picking the letter up and turning around to show Milly.
"Ooh what's that!" She says snatching it . "HEY! Millyyyyy give it back!" I groan. She begrudgingly gives it back and I tear it open.
I see Milly in my side view and some reason she's..smiling? Or giggling?
"Oh! Sorry um Eliot is texting me..haha um.." she says holding her phone up which was definitely not in her hand originally but whatever.
I pull the card out and begin reading the letter.
It was a love letter?

Our school had this thing where new kids would randomly join in small groups throughout the term, a small group of kids our year level had joined which meant a chance for new members! I had sent a email and got nothing for a while except many fake ones back but 1 actual application.
The form:
Name: Daniel William
Instrument/skill?: I can sing and I play the trumpet!
Reason for joining club: at my old school I was in a band so I figured joining this would be good
Days available: any day works for me except Thursday mornings because I have swimming.
I scanned through the form before deciding to email back asking for him to come in tomorrow for an audition.

Jake pov:
My head has been spinning. A day ago I found a love letter in my locker and honestly I feel like I know who from.
It all matched up to Daisy, it said stuff how they liked me for a while but was to scared to say anything and how they thought it would never work out.
But the thing is, is that it also talked about how they thought I was a jerk at the start but soon came to learn how there was more to me. Which is strange, I don't think Daisy ever disliked me..?
Another issue is that me and Hailey keep having these..moments I'm probably confused though.
Today we had practice for the club however it would mainly be auditioning for the new kid who wants to join. I think Hailey Said his name was Daniel or something like that. Weirdly enough but that name rings a bell, I'm just not sure why..
Like always I was a little late to the practice so when I arrived everyone was there already.
"Yeah we can Start in a sec..oh! And this is our club singer Jake!" Hailey announces as I run in.
"Hey guys sorry I was- DANIEL??" I yell suddenly recognising him.
"Oh wow Jake. It's nice to see you again.. it seems your doing better huh?" Daniel says to me sounding shocked
"Hold up you two know eachother??" Hailey asks extremely confused.
"Yeah. I know him. I used to be friends with him at my old school before he ditched me." I say with a hint of annoyance in my tone.
"Jake- I didn't ditch you. You just didn't want to hang out with the people I hung out with." He snaps back.
"Yeah well the people you hung out with were people who bullied me so why on earth would I want to be around them?" I yell starting to lose it.
"Look im really sorry but I swear Ive changed." He says, his eyes shifting around the room.
"Hey guys im sorry but remember I have to leave early so we gotta get started now." Sean says snapping us out of it.
Sighing, I take a seat while Hailey helps Daniel set his stuff up. I don't know why Hailey would let this douch join.
He begins playing the trumpet and I look to see Hailey completely wide eyed, I mean he wasn't bad. I Stare at Hailey before she looks at me and I quickly look away turning a bit pink. That's odd.
Daniel finishes playing and Hailey begins gushing about how good he was. But she seemed almost flustered? Which annoyed me. I'm not sure why though.
Hailey pov:
"Oh my gosh!! That was beautiful!" I say excitedly. "Ah thank you! I started when I was younger and I've been in a few bands before" he grins at me.
Daniel seemed really nice but his past with Jake worries me.
"So uh do you think I could join?" He asks. "Oh sorry! Yes 100% we would love to have you in!" I laugh.
"Would you also want to audition for singing or just trumpet?" I ask him. "Let's go with just trumpet now and we'll see later." Daniel smiles at me.
Jake pov:
it has been a few days since Daniel auditioned and got in and he's been ..flirting with Hailey. I'm not jealous it's just that's what I do and it's like he's trying to replace me.
Well I mean it's ok I'm going to ask Daisy out soon I just need to plan how. But In the mean time I'll have to watch Daniel flirt with Hailey just for her to get extremely flustered. He even has a name for her, he calls her star because she likes stars but I do think my name for her is much better. I mean what can beat princess? His nick name is cringe and mine is well good.
I'm not sure why I'm getting jealous but I'm sure it's nothing.

The next day.
I was walking a bit behind Hailey and Daniel, I assume they had the same class.
I run up to them and tap Haileys shoulder. "Hey Princess!"
"Oh hey Jake!" She turns to smile at me. Daniel seemed almost annoyed? At my presence which was odd but I wasn't sure what to expect anymore.
"So Jake Are you asking Daisy out ?" Daniel asks me. I was shocked he still remembered that I liked her.
"Oh! Um uh yeah soon haha um.." I stutter.
"Honestly I was kinda expecting for you two to be dating already.." he mumbles reaching the door to the music room.
"Here you go star" he says winking at Hailey as he opens the door for her.
I cringe a bit before stepping in after the two.
Hailey:
It had been around 2 weeks since I wrote the letter to Jake and to my surprise he still hasn't asked Daisy out yet, I wasn't sure why.
On another note Daniel has been hard core flirting with me, like it's hard to explain but it just feels wrong, I mean that's what Jake used to do all the time.
Daniel is actually really nice though and has skill in music which I find fascinating.
"Milly I don't know what to do. I don't think he even knows it was from me and I just-" my voice trails off with a hint of desperation.
"Exactly which is why you should get into a re bound relationship with Daniel !! Look it will help you get over him!" Milly says tossing stuff out of her bag
"Look I know I shouldn't tell you this but your my best friend, I over heard Daniel talking about how he wants to ask you out." She continues sounding serious.
"Wait what? Really?" I ask genuinely shocked. Milly nods her head.
"Come on Hailey just try and if it doesn't work then you know you would of tried." Milly says with a small smile
"Okay I guess..."

Jake pov:
Everything has become a mess.
well just for me.
I've been putting off asking Daisy out because I've been scared and I just felt like it wasn't the time to and now.. well two days ago Hailey and Daniel started dating and.. I don't know why I feel weird about it.
I'm sure I didn't catch fe- no I'm sure I didn't. Hailey is just my best friend and I'm just worried for her. I'm sure that's what's happening.
Daniel seems like he's changed but I still don't trust him.
I think about how close I am with Hailey and how much I've been with her, Daisy was sweet but she wasn't ever that close to me and we only talked from time to time. On my phone I have a million pictures with Hailey and none of Daisy and I text Hailey almost every day yet I hardly text Daisy.
Hailey was my best friend but she has Daniel now which meant I had no one.
Maybe I was just scared of losing my best friend.

"Jake why do you need to be dropped off so early?" mum asked. "Oh err I have to help out with something so I'm coming in early" I say looking up from my phone.
I run into the music room and open the door to see Hailey sitting on the floor on her phone.
"Hey Jake!!" She springs up "hey Hailey!!" I grin.
"So is there anything u wanted to talk about?" She asks sounding a bit confused.
"Oh uh i just wanted to hang out Yk? I feel like it's been a bit since we hung out just us two." I smile softly
"Oh! I forgot to ask, have you asked Daisy out yet? It's been like a month since the compilation!" She laughs.
"Actually I'm not gonna do that anymore." I say avoiding eye contact.
"Wait what?" She asks sounding genuinely shocked.
"Yeah um i donno i just don't feel it anymore haha.." I mumble
"Wait why? I thought you were pinning over her for ages!" She asks again increasingly sounding even more shocked and confused
"Well um haha so uh the thing is uh I like someone else!" I splurt out.
It's then when I realised that I have fallen for someone else. I've fallen for Hailey.
"WOAH WHAT???" She yells "who is it..?" She asks trying to calm down.
"I can't tell you that princess." I wink at her with a grin.
"Omg." She grumbles
"How's you are Daniel?" I ask crouching down to sit with her.
"Oh uh It's good haha um yeah he's nice." She smiles weakly at me.
"Look Hailey I need to tell you something-" my sentence gets cut off by no other then Daniel opening the door.
"Oh! Daniel." Hailey says a bit frighted by the sudden appearance.
"Sorry! Did I interrupt something?" He asks walking over to sit with hailey.
He gives me a dirty look waiting for me to answer "oh um no its nothing." I say looking away.
"Sorry Jake what were you saying?" Hailey asks. "Um It's nothing haha uh I have to go sorry!" I say quickly getting up and leaving.
I had fallen for a girl with a boyfriend. What has my life come to?
Hailey pov:
Today has been so strange..it's almost as if Jake was avoiding me. What was he going to say in the music room?
I was walking out of my class when I saw him taking stuff out his locker.
"JAKE!" I yell waving to him. He turns around, looks around and waves to me. Strange.
"Hey! What do you have next?" I ask. "I have a free how about you?" He says smiling. "Same! We should hang out!" I suggest, he quickly nods and I wait for him to finish sorting his locker out.
I peep into it from the side and see my letter that I wrote to him. He must of read it...
"Oh uh Daniel said he wanted to meet me or something, we could all hang out?" I suggest.
"Oh. Yeah of course your boyfriend." He says quietly.
"Uh haha um yeah..." I stutter.
"Is it getting serious between you two?" Jake asks as we walk down the hallway.
"Uh well I donno, he's really nice but... I-I don't know." I pause
"So your uncertain?" He says turning his head to face me.
"Uh I can't say anything to be sure.. but I like him, he's really nice and has been treating me well" I smiley softly opening the door to class room.
I turn away from Jake and turn into the class room when I see it. My hands go weak and I drop everything and tears begin welling up.
"HAILEY!" Daniel yells quickly pulling away from the other girl.
Jake immediately steps in fronts of me and holds my wrist tightly.
"No no no you don't understand I- I- um-" Daniel mutters frantically.
"NO HOW COULD YOU EXPLAIN? YOU WERE KISSING HER!" I scream tears falling down my cheek.
"NO NO I JUST UM UH HAILEY LET ME EXPLAIN!" He cries begging me.
Jake grabs my books that fell to the ground. "I'm so sorry come on let's leave.." he whispers pulling me by the wrist to leave.
"I- I can't believe you. Don't talk to me." I blurt out in between tears.
Jake gently Leads me outside where I proceed to soak his entire shoulder with tears.
He holds me gently and I get a weird fuzzy feeling in my stomach..

Jake pov
It was the end of the day and Hailey had left early. Zander had asked me what happened and I chose to tell him to not pry about it but instead just be there for Hailey.
I felt horrible for her.
Zander texted me to come over as Hailey locked her self in her room and I might be the only solution.
I quickly ran over and knocked on the door carrying some snacks and other stuff to help or distract her.
"Hey Jake, come in she's in her room." The purple haired boy says opening the door wider.
"Thanks" I smile about to walk away.
"Jake. Is she okay? Please I'm worried.." Zander mumbles.
"I'll let you know when I find out." I say before heading to her room.
I knock a few times before I hear a voice say "GET OUT ZANDER JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!"
"Hey Princess..it's not Zander
The door quickly swings open and I'm met with Hailey who looks like she has been crying for days.
"Oh Hailey..." I say pulling her into her hug." She doesn't say anything but doesn't pull away.
Time quickly passes and I try to get Haileys mind off Daniel, we practice music, play games and simply just talk.
"Hey do you want me to stay here tonight?" I ask turning to face her.
"Uh I don't wanna be a bother haha.." she mumbles
"Oh come on Hailey your parents love me!"
Hailey pov:
That was true. My parents loved Jake strangely. Before I could say anything else Jake quickly says he will be back and runs down stairs.
What feels like a minute later I hear a "THANK YOU!!" Which sounded like it came from Jake then foot steps towards my room.
"Hailey?" I realise the voice wasn't jakes. It was Zander.
"Oh uh come in" I say quickly jumping up and opening the door.
"Hey..are you okay?" Zander says looking extremely worried.
"I'm okay..I just need time to get over it. I'm still so confused.." I say.
"Over what? Him cheating?"
"No not that it's that fact that I- um never mind..." I see Jake appear behind Zander and Zander hugs me before leaving.
"Sorry hails, did I interrupt you guys?" Jake says carefully stepping into my room and placing two mugs down. "But..I got hot chocolate!!!"
"Thanks Jake! And it's fine!" I say taking a mug.
We both sit on the end of my bed and it goes quiet.
"I- I'm just so... confused! Like I- I don't know..." I mumble as tears begin to well up. "Hey.. it's okay to be confused!" He says pulling me into a hug. My tears were slowly soaking up his whole shirt but he didn't even move away, instead he just sat their holding me.
A few hours had passed and jakes mum had dropped off over night clothes and toiletries for Jake as he decided to stay the night.
"Um you can shower now if you want?" I ask pointing towards to bathrooom, Jake nodded before grabbing his stuff and heading to the shower.
My phone buzzed and I picked it up. It was a text from Daniel.
Jake pov:
I had finished showering and spent like 5 minutes trying to figure out what half of Haileys products in the shower were for because god knows why.
My mum had packed me a towel so I used that to dry my hair while walking back to Haileys room.
"Hey! Oh uh what happened to your hair-?" Hailey asked staring dumbfounded. "Uhhh no idea- it gets messy when wet haha.." I say chucking the towel on top of my bag on the floor.
"Um. So Daniel message me." She said flopping on the bed.
"Woah what? What did he want?" I ask, running my hand through my hair, She passes me her phone.

"Yeah course!" I smile.
"Oh um by the way, do you want to sleep in my bed or in the guest room?" Hailey asks picking up a hairbrush off her table and taking her hair out.
"Uhh I'll sleep in you room so we can talk at night?" I ask not 100% certain this was a good idea but regardless it meant I got to spend more time with her.
She nods and I watched as she held her hair tie in her mouth and brushed out her long hair.
She looked so pretty.
"Um Jake? Are you okay? Your kinda starring?"
"OH UH UM N-no I'm not!!" I say turning red and covering my face. She giggles, covering her mouth with her hand before tying her hair back up.

We both sit on Haileys bed watching stupid TikTok's and laughing our butts off. It was nice though, watching Hailey laugh and smile, she had been so upset so It a good change.
I still liked her, but well I don't plan on doing anything about it, considering she JUST got out of a relationship it would be to early to initiate something. I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to manipulate her or some crap like that.
As much as I knew I had to wait, that didn't stop me still really wanting to be with her. Not as in dating but just being in her presence. We didn't even have to be doing anything that interesting and it still would be good.
Hailey scrolls onto a slide show, she scrolls and it seems to be a friendship appreciation post. In the slideshow it's the trend: do you think we would be friends in every universe? Hailey then turned her focus off the video and onto me.
"Jake," she turns now facing me. "Yeah?" "Do you think we would be friends in every universe?" She asks with a sheepishly shy grin. "Duh of course we would!" I say as I smile and pull her into a side ways hug. She leans on my shoulder and continues watching videos on her phone.
I realise that she's just kinda laying on me and isn't moving, and it was kinda of comforting.

Time passes quickly and before I know it Hailey is fallen asleep on my shoulder, her phone still on.
Without moving too much I take her phone, put it on charge and get under the cover, while pulling the blanket over Hailey.

Hailey pov:
I Open my eyes and my room is dark, I turn to check the time when I realise I'm laying on something.
I squint my eyes as I suddenly realise I was sleeping on jakes arm. His arm was around me as if hugging me. My face quickly goes red and I try and figure out how on earth I ended up like this.
Crap. I fell asleep...
I Shuffle around still in his arms but trying to find a less awkward position when I hear a quiet yawn.
It was pitch black but I realised I had woke up Jake.
"Jake-?" I say, my voice cracking as I had just woken up.
"Oh crap sorry Hailey- I didn't mean to hug you- I have this teddy at home that I hug and uh I-" Jake blurts, his voice croaking and sounding half awake.
I giggle. "It's Fine Jake.. also you have a teddy?"
"Uh huh! It's a brown bear my mum gave me when I was younger." He says.
"Sorry. Do you want me to move my arm-?" He asks slowly pulling his arm away.
"No no it's fine! It's honestly kinda comforting.." I quickly say. He stops moving his arm and it goes quiet for a bit.
"Do you ever think about how in the future you probably won't remember this happening? Like what if I never remember we hung out?" He asks.
"Yeah I've thought about that like once?"
"Do you think u will remember this happened when you wake up?" I ask
"I donno.. I'm like half awake haha.." he mumbles
"Can I tell you something?" I ask
"Oh uh sure? Only if you want to!" (Beabadoobee ref?) Jake says turning to face me.
Our faces felt quite close but again- it was so dark so I couldn't see anything.
"Actually.. it's something important and I want to be properly awake to tell you.. I'll tell you in the morning" I say quickly changing my mind.
"Oh okay. As long as your happy." He says
"You are my best friend, you know?" Jake whispers, I giggle "I know" I say lowering my voice in case of waking up anyone else.
Jake does a offended gasp "am I not your best friend? Who is!!" He says in a silly voice. "Oh don't be silly you know you are" I say laughing.
He pulls me into a hug and we giggle quietly and before we know it we both doze off.

Uh the morning
Jake pov:
"Oh crap-" i wake up to a voice and something dropping. I rub my eyes as I slowly sit up.
I look up to see Hailey picking up many small hair ties and putting them back into a small container. I jump out of bed "here I'll help" I say grabbing some hair ties "thanks!" She says putting the lid back on.
"Uh what time is it-?" I ask looking out side, it wasn't that bright yet. "Uh 6:38am why?" She asks walking away to her closet "damn two things firstly, do all girls wake up early? And second you slept at like 12 last night do you have enough sleep?" I ask running my hand through my hair.
"Uh well first- no it's not that early Jake- also yeah I wake up at this time so I can eat some breakfast before school and second I'm fine I've slept later honestly-" she says taking stuff out her wardrobe.
"I'm gonna change now I'll be back, you can start getting ready for school the other bathroom should be free!" She says leaving.
I nod, grab my bag and head out the room.

At school
"Hey, look. You're gonna do fine.. I'll be there with you okay?" Hailey seemed worried on the walk over to school, we had left earlier to talk to Daniel which meant Zander would only walk with luke. Works out well though as I'm not sure Zander was thrilled I was staying over night, especially with Hailey.
"I know.. anddd we are here." Hailey mumbles pushing the school door open and heading inside towards the music room.
We arrive at the club room and I hold the door open for Hailey. As I turn to walk in I stop as I see Daniel. It wasn't so much a shock because obviously we were there to talk to them, well we more like Hailey but it's still weird when I see him, especially considering what he did to Hailey.
"Hailey! Oh uh hi Jake." Daniel mumbles as I appear behind the door after Hailey. "So what are you two like dating or something now?" He grumbles glaring at me. Me and Hailey quickly panic and go a bit red "no no! He's just here because I asked him to be! We aren't dating or anything!!" Hailey rushes to explain.
Daniel nods. "Um well I just wanted to explain my self..." he says running his hand through his hair. I stand in the corner of the room not sure what to be doing. I opt for pretending to be occupied with my phone while Hailey talked to him however I was 100% just listening onto the conversation.
"You know. I just don't understand.. you flirted with me so much and you were literally the one who asked me out!! So why did you do that." Hailey rants. "Okay. So well the girl who you saw me kissing was savanna, she's a girl in my class who I liked before you" Daniel begins.
Hailey nods trying to understand "I- did you ever actually even like me? Or was it like just a thing to make her jealous and date you?"
Daniel shakes his head quickly. "No no no nothing like that. Well not at first. I liked her then I liked you and well I thought you liked me too but... I knew you were never fully committed." Daniel frowns shooting me a glare.
I panic quickly going back onto my phone and I notice in the corner of my eye Hailey going a bit red again. Strange...
"I just was done. I don't know if it was your intention or anything but after realising you never will fully like me I- I just got mad and I thought that if I were to secretly have a relationship with savanna while you were off crushing on another then we would be fine and I would never have to tell you and I just-" Daniel continues with his eyes darting around the room.
"I may of not been fully into you but how does that justify to you going off and cheating!" Hailey yells.
"I know it doesn't. I really didn't want to hurt you and I'm so sorry..." Daniel sighs putting his hands onto his face.
Hailey sighs not knowing what to say. "Look. As long as you know what you did was horrible then I guess it's ok. But I think you should consider if staying in the club would be a good idea." The girl sighs clearly wanting to leave.
Daniel nods silently and after Hailey walks out with me.
Hailey pov:
"Hey uh thanks..you know for being there..." I mumble closing the door to the club room and walking with Jake.
"It's not worries!! Hailey i really care about you it's no hassle!" The peach haired boy smiled at me.

Two weeks later.
It has been 2 weeks since me and Jake talked to Daniel and my life has significantly improved
Firstly, Daniel moved schools again, he changed schools around a week after and no one has heard anything from him. I guess I'm not sad but I somewhat feel a bit bad... either way this meant he was no longer in the club, a relief to Jake and Zander.
In the two weeks me and Jake had gotten quite close, we would hang out a lot at eachothers houses after school..much to Zander's dislike-
However something I noticed is that my feelings towards Jake has changed... I can't explain it but I wish I was with him all the time.
My phone buzzes and I pull it out my pocket. It was a rainy Sunday and I had somehow woke up at 8 and couldn't go back to bed as much as I wish I could.
Jake:
heyyy can I come over today?
Hailey:
Ofc!!! Come over in half an hour? Do you want breakfast?
Jake:
Nah I'm good!
Hailey:
Okay! See you soon then :3
I roll over, pulling my self up from the bedcovers. Something I hated was getting out of bed but Jake was coming soon and I couldn't not have him see my room like this.
I twist my body out of bed and walk into the bathroom to get ready.
-after getting ready/ changed-
I fold my pjs and put them into my wardrobe before heading to my vanity. I'm not sure why I have one as I don't always wear makeup and a lot of the time I just use the bathroom to do skin care and sometimes makeup.
I quickly curl my lashes and apply mascara before attempting to pick up random stuff from my room to tidy it.
"God. I cannot let him see this" I mumble before grabbing my secret note book and hiding it between the bed frame and matrice. In this notebook I wrote everything. From random song lyrics to gut wrenching rants, however something else I wrote is my tiny maybe maybe not crush on Jake.. which. For obvious reasons is why I cannot let him see it.
I head to my book shelf to grab my song book. Unfortunately all the Princess stickers were removed immediately after my interaction with Jake, the second time we met however unfortunately by peeling the stickers off, it caused for the actual book to get damaged. This lead to me having to replace the cover. The 'new' cover is just a simple brown cover with my name on it but I have though about decorating it soon..
I definitely miss the old pink cover and in a way I also miss the stickers as I think it shows the beginning to Jakes and i Rocky start of our friendship.
Eventually I got Jake his own princess song book which he now regularly uses and it's nice seeing the gift for him actually being used.
I put the song book on the table and head down stairs.
"Hi sweetie! Do you want some breakfast? I made bacon and eggs!" Shannon asks me and I make my way down stairs. "Oh uh I'm just going to have some toast but thank you for offering!" I say fixing my hair.
Shannon nods "oh did you do something special with your hair? It looks nice" she says turning back to the stove.
"Yeah Ii decided 'm going to have it half up and half down today, similar to how I used to have my hair.. oh! That reminds me uh Jake is coming over in like 10ish minutes, is that alright?" I ask grabbing the toaster and popping my toast in.
"Uh yeah that's good but please keep it down okay? I have an online class with a student because they were sick on Thursday" Shannon says.
I quickly finish my toast and head upstairs to wait for Jake to arrive.
-12 minutes later-
"HAILEY SOMEONES AT THE DOOR!!!!!!" A short purple haired girl yelled "Beth! Keep it down mum is in a uhhh meeting!" I say running down to the door.
"Hey hails!!" The peach haired boy grins at me. "Hi! My mums in a um meeting so we can go to my room!" I say shutting the door behind him.
"So uh what do you wanna do?" I mumble flopping onto my just made bed. "Hmm Oo Theres this new place that opened up in the city! It's like an arcade and it has the floor light game you wanted to try!" Jake says looking around my room.
"OMG YES!! Do we need to make a booking?" I ask grabbing my phone. "No the website said you can just walk in and pay there" Jake said pushing my phone down.
(20 minutes later sorry for the time skips!!)
"Omg finally we are here!!" Jake grins "only took us like 10 minutes to actually find the building once we got to the city" I chuckle.
"Hello! I would like to pay for two passes?" I ask the lady at the front counter. "Oh it's all good Hailey I can pay for my self!" Jake intervenes, the lady looks up at both of us confused.
"Uhh ignore him... I'll pay card!" I insisted handing the lady the card. Jake opens his mouth to speak but the lady quickly scans my card probably too tired to deal with this. I flash Jake a triumphantly earned grin as he chuckled and rolled his eyes.
"Okay so you will be in the same room as two other people, I believe they are there already. Here's your room number the lockers are here and bathrooms are down the corridor..if you need anything there is people watching on the security so yell out if you need help. That's all have fun" the worker says in a monotone voice.
Me and Jake put our bags inside the locker before locking it and heading to our room. "I think the lady said the other people are there already-" Jake says pushing the door open
We were greeted by none other then Daisy and Sean.
Jake pov:
I push the door open eager to see who we would be playing with and I see Sean and the girl who I used to be obsessed over.
There's an awkward silence as we all stare at each other in shock. "Oh! Uh haha I guess we had the same idea?" Hailey says not sounding sure.
"Oh haha yeah um Daisy invited me to this place" Sean chuckle's awkwardly looking back at Daisy.
Daisy, who seemed unbothered smiled at us "yeah! My family friends daughter works here and she got me free passes! It's nice to see you guys though!!" Daisy beams with excitement
"Soo are you two like on a date?" Daisy smirks looking at me and Hailey.
"OH! No no nothing like that haha. Um I just wanted to check this place out! And uh Jake was just uh at my house because...he needed homework help!" Hailey blurts half lying.
I give her a confused look to why she lied and she just rolls her eyes and chuckles.
"OKAY PLEASE STEP ONTO THE TILES AND MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE GREEN ONES. THERE WILL BE RED TILES THAT YOU NEED TO AVOID. YOU WILL BE WORKING IN GROUPS SO PLEASE SEPERATE INTO SEPARATE GROUPS AS THE GAME BEGINS." A loud voice booms over the microphone.
I grab Haileys wrist before running to one side of the room.
"Hey why did you lie?" I whisper to Hailey. "Huh? I didn't l- ohh it's just uh you coming over to my house a lot just seems like we uh are ummm dating-? And I didn't want them to think that haha um..." Hailey whispers as the game begins.
"Hey! You would love to have me as a boyfriend! I mean I'm charming and good looking! What more do you need?" I grin at her earning a disapproving glare.
"ON YOUR MARKS GET SET GO" the voice yells as me and Hailey begin running over, jumping over the 'lasers' while laughing our butts off.
Hailey runs over to the other side touching the wall then sprinting back, she jumps over a red laser and flings her self towards me.
"OH SH-" she yells before falling on top of me.
It goes quite for a second and all I see is Haileys face. I've never taken much thought into how pretty she was, her hair and her eyes and- woah what.
It was a lie that I haven't thought about her like that...
"Eh hem" "Omg shhh!" I hear Sean and Daisy giggling
"Oh frick- sorry Jake uh..." Hailey says getting back up. Her face was red as a tomato and mine was probably the same.
"Uh haha it's fine!" I laugh trying to play it off. Looking over my shoulder I see Sean and Daisy laughing at us and Sean's arm around Daisy.
Sean quickly realised and moves his arm. To be honest I did not care, I stopped liking Daisy, that is if I actually did like her. But I thought that Sean and Daisy would make for a good pair.
Later after the games were finished us four walked out and Hailey began talking to daisy in front of Sean and I.
"Soo...you and Hailey seem to be getting close?" Sean grins at me quietly
"Haha uhh I guess?" I chuckle. "Oh uh...like i Said at the competition, if you date Daisy or like her you have my full support.. I uh stopped liking her a while back-" I continue.
Sean stops walking to stare at me.
"Woah what. Okay 2 things. You stoped liking Daisy?"
"Yeah Im not sure if I told you but yeah.." I laughed starting to walk again
" and uh second...if your really okay with it I might ask Daisy out?" Sean says quietly making sure that the girls won't hear.
I grin "I knew it" I say laughing
Sean and Daisy end up going another way and me and Hailey make our way to mine.
Haileys pov:
We walk into jakes house and see his brother sitting on a stool watching YouTube while eating toast.
"Ugh your here again?" The small boy says as we enter the house. "Milo..be nice to Hailey" Jake says closing the door. "No not her I mean you!" The boy says grinning. Yep he's a Sterling. Jake rolls his eyes turning back to me
Me and Jake head upstairs to his room and I sit on his bed.
"Omg do you know anything about Sean and Daisy?" Jake exclaimed
"Hmm I think Daisy might like him-?" I say as Jake comes to sit down.
"Sean defo likes her!" He turns to face me "omg we need a ship name!! Uhh dean? Wait no....Seanisy OH I GOT ONE SAISY" Jake yells
I laugh and fall back "WOAHH CARFUL" Jake chuckles supporting my back as I flop back. "Can't let the princess get hurt!" He giggles. "Omg shut up!" I say hitting him gently with my bag.
"Ohhh I heard from Daisy you like someone?" I say grinning "who's the lucky girl? Or boy- idk"
"No one and she's a girl- wait fu-" Jake says before suddenly realising.
"WHO? PLEASEEE TELL MEE" I beg. "This Princess doesn't need to know!" He says. "You know you're gonna have to stop calling me that once you get a girlfriend" I laugh realising the sad part.. not that I liked the nick name or whatever.
"Won't be a problem if I call my future girlfriend Princess already" he says with a smug look. "Huh what-" I ask, unsure where this is going.
"I'm kidding hails- plus that nick name is sacred! It can't be changed" Jake says.
My face goes pink as I stutter "o-oh haha right.." it goes silent for a bit and I lay back on his bed. "You know your beds actually quite comfortable!" I laugh.
"Oh yeah? Well...PILLOW FIGHT!" Jake yells. Before I could even process what he said he grabs a pillow and smacks me. "JAKE WHA- Omg okay it's on!" I yell grabbing one of his pillows.
"NOO STOP HAILEY YOU CANT HURT YOUR PRINCE CHARMING PLEASEEE" Jake yells trying to defend himself.
I laugh and smack his head gently with the pillow.
He pretends to die and I begin laughing loudly.
"Omg can you stay for a sleep over tonight? Pleaseee" Jake begs.
"Uhhh I donno, I have to ask my dad" I think grabbing my phone. "Your dad loves me!!" Jake laughs. "Yeah only because you actually care about his old band!!" I giggle ringing my dad.
"Hey dad?" "What's wrong hails are you okay?" "Yeah I'm good, just wondering if I can have a sleepover at jakes?" "Uhhhh check with your mum but I say yes! I like Jake he actually care about-" "okay thanks dadddd I'll ask mum now" I say quickly hanging up.
I ring my mum and she doesn't pick up.
"Oh uhh I'll text her rq..." I say clicking into her. I message her and she reply's with a thumbs up emoji and telling my dad to drop my stuff off.
"Well I guess it's sorted!" I say grinning.
Time skip bc I'm lazy 😋
Me and Jake had accidentally stayed up talking all night, we originally went to bed around 11:30 but it was now 2:24 meaning we had just talked for over 4 freaking hours some how.
We had talked about serious deep stuff, stupid story's and random stuff. It was nice to have someone to talk about everything.
"Okay and then he said oh well you sound too breathy and I said that I needed to breath mid way because it goes for like 100 bars with out a rest and like if she wants me to sing a hard part then just let me breath like once but no" I was ranting about a bad experience of singing when I started hearing tapping sounds on the window.
"Can you hear that?" Jake whispers. "Yeah! It sounds like it's raining!!" I say excitedly "omg can we go outside?" I ask.
"Hailey no It's like 2am and it's raining! You could get sick!" Jake laughs "exactly! That's the point! Not the sick bit but the rain!!! Oh please! I love the rain!" I beg, turning around to face him.
We were both sleeping on jakes bed which at first was a big awkward but then got a bit more comfortable. The thing is, Jakes bed is usually made for one person but just a tiny bit bigger, meaning that we were quite close and when I turned to face him out faces were super close.
I hear Jake sigh before agreeing. We quietly put some rain jackets on and I borrow jakes jumper and jacket which is quite comfortable and quietly sneak outside.
I run out side spreading my arms wide and slowly spinning around as I yell quietly.
Jake laughs and me and his smile looks so genuine. I grab both his hands and spin around in a circle with him.
We laugh until we fall over, laying on the wet grass.
It goes quiet and all you can hear is the rain and our heavy breathing.
"Hey Hailey.." Jake perks up. I turn over to face him "mmh?" I say not sure where this is going.
He sits up and I soon copy. I hear him mumble "wow this is really happening okay."
"Jake?" I ask before he begins talking
"Look Hailey, Theres something I've been meaning to tell you..." he sighs sounding unsure.
"Um... over the past few weeks we have been getting quiet close and little by little I began noticing more about you... how you always make sure you have your star clip in your hair before leaving the house, how you always make sure everyone else is okay before even making time for your self, how you always look effortlessly pretty, how you love the feel of freshly printed music sheets, how you don't let others hurt your friends, how you have such a kind and beautiful heart..." Jake says slowly smiling.
I could feel my face beginning to go red, I never realised how much attention he payed.
"How you tap your leg when focusing, how you always cover your mouth when you giggle, how you actually secretly love the nick name princess"
He continues, his grin getting even wider
"I do not!" I smile, not sure if I was about to cry.
"Uh huh you love the nick name.. look hails..your personality, beauty and talent is beautiful and uh with that being said....what I wanted to tell you is that I well kinda like you..." Jake mumbles
Holy crap.
It was almost like I knew it was coming...but I didn't as well. Rain water falls off my face as I stare at Jake in disbelief
"A-are you being serious? Like do you genuinely like me like actually?" I ask not believing it.
He laughs with his goofy grin. God how much I loved it..
"Yes Hailey I'm being serious" he smiles.
My mouth is open to say something but nothing comes out.
"So...with that being said. How would you like to be my girlfriend?" Jake asks sounding shy.
"Yes! Omg i-i Are you kidding me?" I laugh looking into his eyes.
"God! You could not know how much I wanted you to ask!" I say crying. I didn't want to cry but I couldn't help it.
He wipes my face and hugs me before pulling away and just looking at my face. I watch his eyes as slowly shift my gaze to his lips.
"Can I kiss you?" I quietly ask before Jake immediately kisses me.
The dim street light sheds gentle light onto his face as he held my head. The rain was drenching us, but in his arms I felt at home.

Jake pov:
After successfully making it back to my bedroom without waking anyone, I cover Hailey with a towel from my bathroom to dry her.
"Maybe it wasn't the best idea to go outside..." she giggles.
"Oh really?? I would of never knew!!" I laugh walking to my wardrobe to find something for her.
"I have some spare shorts and shirt in my bag, I can just wear that!" She says noticing me.
"I know I know but you're gonna be cold which is why...I say pulling my signature jacket out my closet."you need this!" I say handing her it.
I didn't wear it outside because I assumed it would get wet due to the rain so it was still dry from being left inside.
"Are you sure Jake?" She asks "yeah! It might be a lil dirty because I only washed it a few days ago but it's warm!" I smile.
She takes the jacket and puts it on while asking "hey what time is it-?" I check my phone "oh gosh it's 3:04..." I gasp "oh- we should probably get to sleep then" Hailey sighs, climbing into bed, her hair still a bit wet.
Following her I get into bed and hug her slightly. "If you told me a few months ago that we would be dating! I would of not believe you one bit" Hailey laughs quietly. I chuckle a bit before yawning.
"I love you Sterling.." she whispers into my ear. "I love you to Austin" I whisper, holding her close
It goes quiet and I slowly drift off with Hailey in my arms.
