I hope you enjoy! And don't forget to vote! I always forget to ask, but it's so nice getting notifications :D

I was swarmed by students the moment I walked through the schools doors. Everyone wanted to ask about the incident. Many who did know just wanted to know if I was all right. I just smiled at everyone and said that I was fine before running off to my locker. I was dreading what was to come for the day. I didn't feel like facing people in every class. I didn't want to face any of the teachers either.
"Let's just get to class," Ave said after closing her locker. I took one last look in my locker mirror before closing it. This time I made sure that I would be prepared for class. I walked as slow as possible to calculus. Ave had helped me catch up over the weekend, but it still wasn't enough. I needed to use my lunches with Dan to get back on track with everything, but I wasn't looking forward to sitting with him all lunch knowing that we weren't together for the time being.
I sat down at my desk as soon as the bell rang and opened my math textbook to the chapter we were supposed to start today. I made sure that I had my calculator, pencils and eraser out so I wouldn't have to draw any extra attention to myself. I looked up and caught Dan looking at me, but he quickly averted his eyes to the rest of the classroom. As soon as Dan started the lesson the classroom door opened and Brittany strolled in.
"Brittany, this is the third time that you're late this month. You have a detention at lunch today," Dan said annoyed. Brittany went to complain, but spotted me and gave me a hard look. What the heck? All class I copied down everything that Dan wrote on the smart board, but I couldn't pay attention to anything he said. I tried my best to listen, but I couldn't do that very well without looking at him, and when I did I got distracted. I decided to get Avery to explain it to me later on while we did our homework—that or ask Dan for help at lunch and just suck it up.
When the bell rang I gathered my things as fast as possible and dumped them into my bag before I ran out of the classroom. Ave quickly followed me to Chemistry class.
"Sky, you shouldn't be running around for a while. You'll get use to this so don't worry too much," she said when I sat down and held onto the side of my head. I could already feel a headache coming on. "Are you alright, Miss Evans?" Mr. Edwards asked from in front of me. I awkwardly looked up at him and nodded before looking back down at my desk. For the first time in my life I was sad that Chemistry flew by. It was lunchtime after what felt like five minutes.
"Are you sure that you don't want me to go with you?" Ave asked for the thousandth time today. I put on a fake smile, "I'm sure. I feel better now so I'll be fine. Now go have your lunch with Garrett," I ordered her before walking to math class.
I was annoyed as soon as I walked in. Brittany was sitting in the back and Dan wasn't even there yet. I ignored her glaring at me and sat down in my usual seat right in front of Dan's desk, which was thankfully the furthest desk from Brittany's. As soon as I heard footsteps outside, Brittany stood up and made her way towards the desk next to mine. I shot her a look that was a mixture of confusion and annoyance before drawing my attention to the door. "I'm sorry I'm late, girls. I had to get my lunch from the fridge in the staff room," Dan said before sitting down. I awkwardly sat there while looking down at the desk. I could feel someone looking at me, though I wasn't sure if it was Dan or if it was just Brittany glaring at me again.
"Did you girls understand todays lesson alright?" Dan asked us. "Of course. It was so easy," Brittany said. I couldn't help but clench my jaw. She doesn't understand anything before her private tutor helps her with it. "Really? Let's go over some questions then," Dan said and looked at me quickly. I couldn't help but smile at him knowingly. I had already told him that Brittany had a tutor so I knew he was doing this for me without making it embarrassing. Dan started writing down a few questions on the board and drawing a graph when Brittany leaned in.
"First Garrett and now Trevor? Why do you keep acting like a slut and making these boys believe that you want something from them? Trevor shouldn't even be getting in trouble for any of this. It's all your fault," she said and quickly went back to looking at Dan. I could feel the tears coming on. How could she say any of that? I didn't lead anyone on. I made it very clear that I didn't want anything from Trevor. She knows that very well, especially when it comes to Garrett. All we were doing was hanging out like normal friends do.
"Here, try these questions at home Brittany. Seems like this is a bit harder than you thought it was," Dan said and handed her a piece of paper. "You could stay longer if you'd like, but your detention is officially over," Dan said, which made Brittany get up quickly and leave the room. "Are you ok?" Dan asked when he saw me. I nodded, but the movement made a tear leak out from my eyes. Dan went to where Brittany was sitting and sat down there. "Do you want to talk about it?" he asked me. I shook my head and took a deep breath. "It's nothing important. Brittany was just trying to get to me again," I said and looked back down at my desk. This desk has been getting a lot of attention from me today.

The next three weeks were basically the same. Brittany hadn't gotten another detention (thankfully) so I had the chance to catch up with math. I was getting a few notes in my locker that was without a doubt from Brittany and her clones, but I learned to ignore them. I was feeling a lot better and only had a few small bruises left. You could only see the scar from the stitches if you looked through my hair and felt around for it. Today was the last day of exams for me. I had just finished my math exam with a smile on my face. I know I didn't do well, but I know for sure that I at least scored a 60%, which was good enough for me. I had plans with Ave and Garrett to watch a movie at the theater near the school. We decided on watching a funny movie and would decide as soon as we got to the theater. I went to my locker to take my purse out when a piece of paper fell on the ground.
Don't think that you're going to win this case, Sky. I have a lot of people rooting against you in this. You wanted to play this game so you better be prepared - Your worst nightmare.
I crumpled up the note. This would be the seventh one I got in my locker since I got back to school. The handwriting seemed messier than the others, but I guess it was because Brittany wrote it in a rush before going into the exam. "Let's get our movie on," Ave said and dragged me towards her car where Garrett was already waiting. "How do you think you did?" I asked Avery. She smiled nervously at me. "I think I got perfect. I checked it over at least four times, but there's always the chance that I made a stupid mistake or forgot to put something small down," she said. "I don't think you made any mistakes, Ave. You're just worrying yourself," Garrett said. I smiled to myself. He's already using her nickname. Garrett was such a good friend. It was fun having a normal guy friend for once: Especially one that got along with Avery without flirting with either of us.
"Have anyone in mind for Valentines day?" I asked Garrett. He smirked at me before answering, "maybe, but you'll only get to know if they accept," he said. I gave him the puppy-dog face, but he just laughed at me. "For the love of God, don't ever do that again. It looks like you ate a sour gummy bear or something," he laughed. I punched him in the arm, but he didn't even flinch. "Stupid jocks and their muscles," I mumbled to myself, which made both Garrett and Ave laugh.

Five weeks.
Thirty-five days.
840hours
50400 minutes.
That was how long Dan and I have been broken up for. I would be lying if I said that I was over it. Today, in particular, I felt like crap. "Come on, Sky!" Ave begged for the third time. I groaned and walked over to the closet in defeat. Ave was really happy when I turned around in the dress she bought for me. "Yay! See? I told you it wouldn't be so bad," she told me before bringing me next to the full-length mirror. I had to admit it; the dress did suit me well. It reached just above my knees and the rose red colour went well with my skin tone.
"Fine. You win. Let's just get this day over with," I said before grabbing my backpack. I put on my long jacket since Ave convinced me to wear a dress to school in the middle of February. At least I knew that half of the girls at school would probably be dressed up for Valentines Day. My assumptions were confirmed as soon as I stepped into the main foyer. Almost every girl I saw had some type of valentines symbol on them. That or they were wearing the holiday's colours. Ave decided to wear a black skirt with a fancy red sparkly shirt and matching flats. People were still giving her weird looks. Everyone was so use to the all black "gothic" Avery and now they were getting a nicely dressed Ave with light makeup. As we walked through the crowds of students a girl from student council asked us if we wanted to send a cute message to someone via telegram or on the announcements. We both turned her down before we heard obnoxious laughter from behind us.
"Of course you don't have valentines. Who would want you anyways?" Brittany said before laughing again. As usual, Brittany was dressed inappropriately. She was wearing a super short dress that revealed her entire back and sides. There was a little metallic piece where her belly button was that held the fabric together. "Does it matter? What if we have boyfriends that don't go to this school?" Ave retorted with clenched teeth. "But you don't. Just accept that you two are never going to have someone there for you," she said. I rolled my eyes and began to walk away when Avery decided she wasn't finished.
"And where would your valentine be?" she asked tauntingly. Brittany smirked at her and stepped closer. "At home preparing for court." I couldn't concentrate all day. Dan was going over a part of today's class that I didn't understand well, but it just want enough for me. "What's wrong, Sky? You look really distant and worried," he asked me. I gave him a look that he quickly understood. "Brittany again?" he said more than questioned. "Yup," I said popping the P. "Bothering you about Valentines day I'm guessing," he said. Spot on. "That and something else too," I answered. Dan gave me a look that showed his interest. "She's dating Trevor now," I said without emotion. Dan immediately sat up. I told him everything else that Brittany said after bringing up her news.
"That little bastard isn't coming back to school, is he?" he asked me. "Only if he wins the case, which might happen." "No!" He shouted and crumpled the piece of paper that he was holding. Thankfully the door was closed and no one ate near the math hallway. Dan came closer to me and grabbed my face lightly. "He will not win this. He won't get away with what he did and tried to do. I saw what he was going to do and he has no excuse. I will never let him or anyone hurt you like that again," he said seriously. I was surprised that I hadn't started crying yet. Usually when people mentioned that day I couldn't control myself. It was probably the look on Dan's face when he said that to me. He made me believe him.
We stayed in that position for a few minutes just looking into each other's eyes. God I miss him. I miss being able to look into his eyes and give him secret looks that only we recognized. I miss being able to lean over and kiss him whenever we were alone. Would we ever have the same connection again? Does he even love me the same anymore? Did he move on permanently? "Sorry, I just got carried away," Dan, said awkwardly when he realized how close we were.
"You can uh... you can go spend the rest of lunch with Avery. I'll see you tomorrow morning," he said while walking over to his desk. I started walking out of his room before he interrupted me. "Sky," he said, which made me stop in my tracks. I didn't turn around. "I promise that I'll make up for Valentines Day. I had plans for a while, but I'll just postpone them for the summer. We can even make it our own holiday," he said. I felt a huge wave of relieve flow by me as I smiled. I turned around and sent him a small smile.
"Thank you," I said and left the room.
