strangersaturn got me thinking abt how much I hate highschool so I guess it's time for a rant.
I just hate highschool. Like I really. fucking. hate. it. I hate how I'm stuck with the same horrible ppl everyday, I hate how the teachers treat us like garbage, I hate how you have to listen to authority figures no matter how wrong they are, i hate how every morning i wish i would just throw up so i don't have to go, I hate how I have no freedom or independence, I hate how art is viewed as unimportant and most teachers don't see it as a career, I hate that I have to wear a uniform, I hate that I'm judged so harshly by the way I work and the grades I get, I hate how we're all taught the same way even tho we're all different, I hate how we're expected to do well in teams and public speaking and how we're supposed to be outgoing and we're not aloud to be shy, I hate that if I can't pay attention it's because "I don't care" and "I'm not trying" and I hate how nothing is ever the teacher's fault. It's such a sucky place. I mean, ik some people love highschool and some adults will tell you it was the best years of their life but for the majority of ppl that's such bullshit. I don't have anything against education, I honestly value education and I think its v important, but the education system is so fucked up. If school is causing depression in teens and is making people hate it as much as I do, there's smt wrong.
I think that life is sm better before and after highschool and I just wish I could get it over with already. I mean, before highschool, you have zero responsibilities and less stress and homework and it's lots of fun, i honestly liked elementary school. And after highschool you have the choice if you want to continue school, and if you do you don't even have to go right away, you could wait. But either way you have so much more freedom and independence and you can live your life and live new experiences. You can start working or you can go to college. And the best part about college is you actually get to choose your classes. Ik you still have to take English and gym and shit, but other than that you get to learn about things that actually interest you. You like writing? Great, take a writing class. You like drawing? Take an art class. You like science? Awesome, go into a science program. You want to be a doctor? Cool, go to med school. My point is, you aren't being forced to go to classes that make you want to throw yourself out of a window. Don't like history? That's okay, you don't have to take it. Hate Spanish? Cool, don't take a Spanish class. Wish you didn't have to draw? Alright, then don't take art. No one's forcing you to do anything. (Except my mom who wants me to go to medical school (boy is she gonna be disappointed)) I just feel like I hate school sm bc they aren't teaching me anything that I'm passionate about or even interested in. I stg if I have to take one more history class I'm gonna scream. And I only have one art class every NINE DAYS. Which really sucks since it's the only class that doesn't make me want to kms. I just can't wait until I'm living in a messy studio apartment with my paints scattered everywhere and I'm willingly going to school everyday and learning art and meeting people who share the same interests with me and making my own food and being independent in little ways like that and just being generally happy with my life. I want to skip forward until graduation. I really just want highschool to be over.
Ok wow that rant got a little out of hand, but that's just how much I hate high school. it's past midnight so gn.
