You put some seasoning onto the pie before placing it in the oven. You could hear Lettie running through the halls again. You were so focused on the sounds of her voice that you didn't notice Simon enter the room. He wrapped his arms around you, and you smiled at him. Soon enough, the pie finished baking and you took it out.

The doorbell rang. Lettie rushed over to see who it was, and you followed. You opened the door to see Marcy holding a bouquet of flowers. "Vampire Queen!" Lettie called out. Marcy giggled.
"So glad you could make it." Simon said.

Marcy sat down on your sofa, and you went to check on the pie. "Did Tree Trunks lend you a recipe?" She asked. You gave her a thumbs up. You brought the pie over. "Want some?" You asked. Lettie gasped. "I want all of it!" She yelled. Simon laughed.

You gave everyone a slice and sat down next to Simon. He kissed you on the cheek. Lettie hopped up next to you. "Mom, tell me a story! I'm bored!" She requested comically. You thought for a second, then began.

"Once upon a time, there was a magical crown. Everyone who wore it had the power to summon ice. That power wasn't always a good thing though. It overwhelmed people with so many possibilities, that it made them do scary things.
One day, a man bought the crown on a trip and brought it home to show his friend. Unaware of the effects of wearing it, he put it on to make her laugh. The man went crazy, but you know what? The woman stayed with him. No matter what happened, she was there to help. Eventually, with the help of others, she saved the man." You and Simon made eye-contact, and you let him finish the story.

"And they lived happily ever after."
