-Y/n POV-
"If you had a hero name, what would it be?" This question was so sudden that it caught you off-guard as you walked with Chikuchi down the hallway. It was lunch time, and she had to go to the bathroom, so she asked that you accompany her. Today was the day that the hero course students were taking their hero licensing exam and you had wished everyone luck before they left that morning. You wanted more than anything to go with them... If not to take the exam, then to at least cheer them on from the sidelines. But you'd already missed a week's worth of work during the training camp, and you couldn't afford to skip any more school.
"A hero name?"
"Yeah! I know you want to be one, so what would you want to be called?" Chikuchi questioned.
You smile a bit as you remembered all of the times in your childhood when you would think about what you'd want your hero name to be. "I've actually thought about this before... I think I'd like to be called 'Trickster'."
She clapped her hands as you both passed by Ms. Midnight's classroom. "That's such a perfect name for you!"
"Yeah. But I'm not in the hero course, so it doesn't really matter... Besides, I don't even have a hero costume."
Not even two seconds later, you heard Ms. Midnight call out from behind you. "Did I hear someone say 'hero costume'?"
"Ah, great... Here we go."
"You go ahead, I'll meet up with you at lunch." You say goodbye to Chikuchi and she gives you a look that says 'Good luck'. You turn around to find Midnight standing outside of her classroom, hands on her hips, in her signature bustless corset, leotard and garter belt.
"Please come in, L/n!" She indicates for you to follow her into the classroom. Once inside, she gets straight to business. "So, you want a hero costume, do you?"
"I mean, it would be cool to have one... But I'm not a hero course student, so I can't request it."
"That's not necessarily true." She gives you a wink and proceeds to pull out a sketchpad and a pencil from the podium at the front of the classroom. She then began to draw a simple female figure. Midnight was the Modern Hero Art History teacher at UA, so it was no surprise that she had some artistic skill in her. "I can make one for you if you request it!"
You try to be as polite as possible; Knowing Midnight and her sense of fashion, you were a little bit reluctant to have her be the one designing it for you. "Oh, you don't have to do that, Ms. Midnight! Really!"
"Don't be silly, I insist!"
"But... why would you want to take the time to do this for me?" You didn't understand. Why would she want to give you this sort of special treatment?
She sighed before putting the pencil down and looking you in the eyes. "L/n, you're one of my best students... I know how much you aspire to be a hero, and I admire your strength – both willfully and physically. I heard about how you helped save multiple students at the hero training camp, despite not being in the hero course. I even heard that you took on one of the villains yourself! L/n... if anyone deserves a hero costume, it's you!"
You took in what she'd just said. Here was a pro who wholeheartedly believed in your dream of becoming a hero. You knew that Aizawa also supported your dream, but to hear it from a second pro hero made it seem like more of a possibility. She gave you a smile. "So what do you say? Wanna look like the hero that you are?"
You thought about it for another second. "... Okay."
She jumped with glee and clapped her hands. "Yes! Oh, this makes me so happy!" She picked the pencil back up and put it to the paper. "First thing's first... What's your hero name?"
"Uhm... Trickster."
She grinned. "I love it!"

After about fifteen minutes, you both had designed something that you could work with. To start, there was a pair of black leather boots and some violet leggings... You insisted that the leggings have pockets in them; Not having any pockets would drive you crazy! Next was the leotard... It was black and came with a violet collar that resembled that of a traditional magician. You had to make sure that Midnight didn't make the v-neck cut too deep; You still wanted to maintain some modesty. The leotard was also sleeveless... Midnight said that you also shouldn't be afraid to show off your more masculine features (meaning your muscular arms and broad shoulders), which was not something that you were expecting to hear from the 'R-Rated' Hero. You had also told her that you wanted to show off the scar that you had on your right shoulder, and this was the best way to pull that off.
Next, there was a pair of violet arm warmers that came up to your elbows, and everything was finished off with a pair of black, padded, fingerless gloves that had steel in the knuckles. Midnight wanted to include a top hat to go with the whole 'Trickster' theme, but you told her no; There's no way that you'd be able to fight with something like that on your head! The final piece that was added to the design was a cropped leather jacket for the winter, but it was still August, so you weren't going to be worried about using that just yet. She took your measurements and recorded them in her sketchpad before sending you on your way.
By the time you were done, lunch was already almost over and you had to run down the hall to make it back in time so that you could get something to eat. Chikuchi waved when she saw you. "So? How'd it go?"
"Pretty well, actually!" You were already excited to see what the finished product would look like.
"How'd what go?" Shinso looked at you, confused.
"Oh, Midnight offered to help create a hero costume for me!"
He nearly choked on his food. "Midnight?? Are you serious?"
"Yeah!" Then you realized what he must've been thinking, and you quickly added, "I designed it with her, so it's not as bad as you might think."
"Oh... Well, that's nice of her." His demeanor went from shocked to neutral in a split second, and you wanted to laugh... He must've thought that you had let Midnight design the whole thing for you.
"Oh God, I don't even want to IMAGINE how that would've turned out!"
"When is it going to be ready?" Chikuchi asked.
"She said she'll have it done in a week!"

-Shinso POV-
As L/n talked and ate her lunch, your mind began to wander. "I wonder what her costume will look like... Knowing her, it'll probably be something that shows off some skin to keep herself from sweating." You found yourself fantasizing about what it would look like, and you felt your face flush as soon as you realized it. "God, stop it brain... You're acting like that creep, Mineta!"
"Hey, Shinso!" L/n's voice suddenly snapped you out of your thoughts. You quickly shook your head and caught Togeike giving you a sly smirk... You could tell that she knew exactly what you were thinking. You returned your attention to L/n before your face got any redder.
"Yeah?"
"Do you maybe think we could train after I get my costume? I know I'm going to want to test it out right away."
"Looks like I'll get the chance to see it for myself..."
"Sure, we can do that," you replied as coolly as possible.
"Awesome! It should be done by next Tuesday, so let's plan to train then!"
"It's a date." You felt the words slip out before you could even think, and both L/n and Togeike stared at you with wide eyes. You quickly covered your mouth. "I- I didn't mean it like that!" You felt your cheeks get insanely hot, and you covered your face in your hands in humiliation. Sure, L/n had asked you at the hero camp if you wanted to go out sometime, but you knew that training wasn't what she'd had in mind... You looked up from your hands, and found L/n staring at you, her face tinged pink. Togeike glanced between the two of you and was covering her mouth with her hand, trying her best not to laugh. "Goddammit..."
I'll include a drawing of what the costume will look like when we see it for the first time.
