A Zuko X Reader story. As always, I wrote this for myself but you can read it, too, if you'd like. Y/N was an air bender, she was tasked with watching over the avatar as a punishment for something that she had done; something that the air nomads frowned upon her for. When she discovered what had become of her people, she was furious- but not at the Fire Nation, she was furious at Aang, because Aang was supposed to protect them, and he didn't. But was it Aang that she was really angry at?

Ivana was the granddaughter of a highly respected fire nation general. She grew up playing and sparring in the palace with Prince Zuko. They'd been friends since before she could remember, but when he's banished, he changes for the worse. Despite dealing with her own issues, including family secrets and a fear of fire, she stays by his side. She thought that their fight was already over that her father had won and that she would never have a real place to call home and be safe, until she meets the Water Tribe boy. She grew up around the royal family as her adoptive father was an important advisor to Fire Lord Ozai, she became good friends with Prince Zuko as she grew older, until he was banished. Until, she made a huge decision that would reunite them, but change her destiny... It was one mistake that led (Y/n), a young girl from the Northern water tribe, down a path of twists and turns. After being somewhere she was told not to be, she ends up being abducted by the Fire Nation Army. Being dragged back to their homeland, she happens upon the opportunity to work within the Firelord's palace as the Prince's attendant. Being the same age as the Prince, Zuko, the two become friends. But as time passes, (Y/n)'s feelings for the Prince chance as well. Now she is conflicted by the idea of being a mere servant and in love with the Prince, along with the fact that back home in the Northern water tribe her best friend and arranged fiance waits. Kaida has to either follow her heart or change her future for the better, deciding to open up can sometimes be a good thing.
