Enigmatic (Ray x Reader)

9- A Snitch!

      "The smaller the teams are, the bigger chances of survival." Norman said. "First, we'll get Don and Gilda to join us. If they so happen to be Mama's spies, then we'll figure out what to do from there."

     "How do you plan on breaking such a huge truth to them?" Y/n asked. "We've gotta word everything carefully, or else it'll all end up getting tossed to the side as some kind of sick joke." She then glared at Emma. "Not everyone is going to straight up believe everything you say like Ray and I, you hear?" She threatened. Emma flinched.

     "Well, Emma and I were discussing this as well and to sum it up... We won't tell them the truth."

     "Wha..." Ray started. "You want to keep those two in the dark?! The heck!?"

     "If our escape fails, we for sure will be killed. But those two may be spared for at least another year." Norman explained.

     "I don't care if they call me a liar." Emma admitted. "I don't care if they find out later and hold a grudge against me. If Mama ends up killing us all even before the monsters even begin coming into the picture, then that's the real game over. Now isn't the time to tell them the truth."

     "Still. It will be difficult to come up with a plan that will pump them up the same way." Norman said. "Once we break it to them."

     The four walked into the library where Don and Gilda were waiting. (You all know what happened so I'm shortening it.) The four lied to the two ten year olds and said they were being raised for human trafficking. Don didn't believe it at first, but Gilda clarified it with credible proof. She also mentioned how Y/n had taken a sudden change 7seven years ago. Don, being the caring boy he is, asked if Connie was safe. Norman said he didn't know. The two got pumped up thankfully. Ray and Y/n glared at Norman and took him aside after the other three exited.

"I'm glad that worked out well." He said.

     "Hold on, I for one, disagree!" Y/n replied. Ray nodded, saying he was behind her on this. "'We don't know'? 'Save Connie'?! You should've at least revealed her death!" Y/n whisper shouted.

     "No, I think this was the best option we could've taken in order for this to go smoothly." Norman countered.

     "Well, I understand that it'll be harder for them to join is if we tell them to follow us into a world of monsters..." Ray admitted. "But if they turn out not to be spies... those lies are just too cruel! Stop giving them a hope that doesn't exist! When are you going to tell them the truth?! How?! Can you do it?!"

"We'll figure it out when it comes." Norman answered. "Anyways, we still don't know whether they are the spies or not. Let's try something first."

"Try what?" Emma and Y/n asked. Emma had left Don and Gilda and was approaching the three.

      "Telling them where the ropes are hidden." Emma looked at him weird. "Of course, we won't tell them where they're actually hiding. We're going to feed both Don and Gilda different locations. I've hidden some extra ropes in random places in case anyone comes to check. If either of them are the spy, they've successfully made it into our circle and can easily get information. Which means they'll be aching to tell Mama their findings ASAP. Who will make a move? Will we be able to fool Mama? Are either of them the spies? We'll be finding out soon!" He cheered. Emma smiled too.

      Y/n feigned happiness and had a good time with them. "As for the exact locations of our ropes, we'll do this. I'll tell Don that the ropes are hidden under my bed. As for Gilda, I'll say they're above the ceiling of the second floor bathroom."

      Y/n and Ray nodded. "Understood." The bell to begin preparing for bed rang. Y/n and Ray were the first to leave Emma and Norman. Norman watched his friends leave hastily. His eyes saddened. Please, Y/n, Ray. Please don't be the spies. Evidence points towards you, prove me wrong. Am I a bad friend for suspecting them first? Don't be Mama's spies!
