Y/n. A girl who lived with her siblings all of her life so far. She is four. She loved her life so far although it was not long. She had great siblings and she dearly loved each and every one of them. One of her older siblings, who went by Sherry, was just informed she was going to be adopted. Everyone was excited for her and they played games the whole day with Sherry. She was, after all, like a second mother to all of them. However, she wasn't all that smart, which could mean something truly terrible for the girl.
When it was dark, the whole house gathered at the door for their farewells. Sherry was in her uniform with her suitcase alongside Mama. The girl had clothes, toys, and a bracelet Y/n had made her. She also held a stuffed dolphin in her hands. Y/n stood beside her friends Ray, Norman, and Emma, all who were also four. Y/n took a glance at Ray who did not look very happy.
"What's wrong, Ray?" Y/n asked. "Sherry is getting accepted into probably a wonderful family!" She exclaimed. "I wonder if she'll ever look back on us. Maybe write? I hope she'll achieve her dream of being a writer."
Ray just looked at her. "Yeah." He gave her a smile. Y/n pouted because she knew he was still hiding something. Y/n turned back to say her farewell to Sherry but her and Mama were gone. They were already heading towards the gate!
"Geh! I didn't get to say goodbye!" Y/n yelled. Norman and Emma had already begun playing with the little siblings and were farther away. Ray jerked his head hard to indicate for her to go. "But... We aren't supposed to go to the gate..."
Ray thought for a moment. "You won't see her again. Isn't getting a last goodbye and breaking the rules better than no goodbye but following the rules?" He challenged.
"You're right! You wanna come? You didn't get to say bye either." The girl invited. The boy shook his head.
"I don't want to see it..." The raven haired boy said.
The extremely young girl turned and opened the door. She was still in her slippers and she ran as fast as she could to the gate. The cold night wind blowing against her face as she huffed and puffed. Thankfully, she was given a good and healthy body and immune system. She ran as fast as she could... and then ran faster. (I saw this in a book and I thought it was funny so I put it in too.)
She finally arrived at the tall metal gate. It was open in contrast to usual when it's closed. She stood at the corner of the gate. She rehearsed what she would say to Sherry. She peeked around the bricks.
Y/n almost yelped. She slammed he hand on her mouth to assure she remained silent. Sherry was standing, frozen in fear at what was in front of her. A large, scary monster was reaching out for her. Run away, Sherry! Y/n screamed inside her head, hoping Sherry would somehow hear her. But the six year old girl stood still. The monster grabbed her and she finally got back to her senses. Sherry began to cry and scream. Her hands were free and they were attempting to reach for Mama. The monster revealed a not yet bloomed flower in its long, bony hands. Mama just picked up the dropped dolphin. Mama then watched and did nothing.
"Mama! Help me!" Sherry cried.
Y/n was so puzzled. Mama stood still and didn't interfere. That's when it hit her. Hit her hard. Mama was planning for this to happen! She deduced.
The monster held flower to the girl's chest. The hidden girl's eyes widened in fear. She looked away before the monster plunged the flower into the other girl. Y/n slowly looked back at the frightful scene. The flower... bloomed now into a pretty red one. Y/n's older sister was killed. The monster dumped the girl's corpse into a jar full of liquid.
"Isabella, thank you for another good quality six year-old. Ha. Wish I could try just a nibble. Even just a toe would do..." The monster said. Mama remained silent. "How are those special four four-year olds coming along?" It asked.
"They are well. One of them has perfect scores. The other three are quite high, but I assure you, I will raise them higher." She informed. The monster nodded.
"That's it. Head back to the house."
Isabella bowed and began walking back to the "orphanage". Y/n hid herself in a bush before Isabella left the gate. The scared girl panicked. What do I do? If Mama sees I'm missing, she'll be suspicious. If I try and beat her to the house, she'll see me! Then she came up with an excuse.
Mama entered the house. She greeted all of her cute little children. One was missing... "Where is Y/n?" She asked the other children.
Norman and Emma looked around and shrugged. Three year olds Don and Gilda just looked at her. The door opened to reveal the missing girl.
Mama's eyes narrowed slightly for a moment. She rushed to the girl. "Y/n! My dear, where were you?" She kneeled.
Y/n smiled at Mama. "I was looking for my stuffed fox. I thought I may have left it outside but it wasn't there." She put a finger to her lips and pouted.
Mama smiled. "Don't worry, we'll find it." She nicely assured.
Y/n had many gifts. One of them was being able to feign anything. Just as she feigned a happy smile, she feigned worry for her stuffed fox. She knew exactly where it was. She rushed upstairs after bidding Mama a goodbye. She passed Ray on the way up and he gave her a long glance until she was out of his sight.
The girl went to the bathroom and looked at the numbers on her neck. Although she had always brushed it off as nothing, she now noticed what her numbers 18194 meant.
She flung herself on her bed. She took her pillow and pulled her fox out of the case. She pulled it tight into her. A few tears slid down her face. She sniffled and held the fox away from her and she looked at it.
"How many hands has this fox gone through?" She whispered to herself. She whispered because of course, it's not normal to talk aloud to yourself. Or whisper, but there is less chance of someone hearing.
Ray heard her.
