The morning sun shone brightly through my bedroom window. Stretching my arm out, I felt that Ironhide was no longer beside me. With a groan, I opened my eyes and sat up. The clock on my bedside table read 11:13. I had woken up a lot earlier than I intended to, but it wouldn't hurt to go into the base early. It would give me enough time later on to visit Sam.

I threw the comforter off of me and got up, heading straight over to my dresser to pick out something to wear. After a few moments, I grabbed my light blue skinny jeans and my dressy white tank top before heading to my closet to get my white pumps. I have complained multiple times about wearing heels all day, but honestly I was far too lazy to attempt to put on normal shoes. It was also not like I would would be all that active.

I changed quickly and let my hair down. The length of my hair made me smile. It was now about two inches below my breast and I was more than happy with the progress I was making with it. Most people said that having long hair made you look too young, but I obviously didn't care. I was twenty-one years old and my hair made me look no younger than I actually was. Also, Ironhide loved my hair, or at least he loved playing with it. Either way I enjoyed that.

I made my way out of my bedroom and headed down the stairs. My purse was still laying by the door, so I grabbed it and my keys before walking out the door. Without making the same mistake I made yesterday, I took the elevator to the garage. My car beeped as I pressed the button on the control pad to unlock it. I opened up the driver's side and got in, throwing my purse into the passenger's seat. I started the car almost instantly and backed out of the parking space. The streets were fairly busy this morning and I groaned. By the looks of this, it would take me about twenty-five minutes to get to the base and the base was just a mere ten minutes away from here.

I hoped this was the only problem I faced today. If I got to the base and Mearing was on my case, I most likely have a fit. If she attempted to make me leave, I'd probably drop her right then and there. On the inside I was excited to be going to the base considering I hadn't been down there in a about a month, nor had I seen many of the Autobots or my father for that matter. Ironhide, Mudflap, and Skids were basically the only ones I've had contact with while the rest were out on their missions; the Wreckers and Jolt were appointed to help take care of the Xantium, so I actually never saw them much anymore.

The base security gates rolled into view and I rolled my window down. Steve was at the gates and I gave him a warm smile.

"How's everyone's favorite little soldier today? We've missed you down here," he greeted me.

"She's more than okay. How's one of my favorite big soldiers today?" I laughed.

"Oh, he's fine. I believe they're waiting on you though," he informed me.

"Is Mearing about to chew me out? I swear I'll lay her out, Steve."

He let out a loud laugh. "It's highly doubtful. She isn't even here yet," he assured me.

I smirked. "As long as it stays that way, I'll be okay."

He laughed again. "Shut up and go inside, kid," he instructed me.

I chuckled before pulling forward through the gates. My normal parking spot by the hangar's entrance door was open so I quickly parked and got out. The warm air felt good against my skin and the summer breeze blew my blonde locks back. I smiled in satisfaction and opened the door. My heels sounded rather loudly against the cement of the hallway floor, and surprisingly I didn't acquire a headache from the irksome sound.
