Shai, Shifu and the Furious Five rushed into the village, running along the roofs. Jade green, statue-like beings charged at them. But these were not just creatures, Shai noticed: they were the Master Badger Twins and Master Porcupine.

Each of the Masters helped each other as they fought these Masters of the Past. Though, by the looks of things, no one else had noticed the identities of these jade creatures.

"What..." Po trailed off.

He crashed through one of the roofs. Everyone paused. After a few moments, they began fighting again.

One of the Badger Twins swung his staff towards Master Shai's head. She quickly ducked and took his legs from beneath him. She sprung up.

"Look out!"

Shai turned toward Viper's voice. Another green staff nearly met her face. She grabbed it, tearing the weapon from its grasp. She quickly hit it over the head. The Badger flew through the air into one of the houses.

She felt a few quills zoom towards her. She turned toward them, throwing kicks and hand slices to deflect them.

Out of the corner of her eye, Shai saw one of the Badgers jump down from the roof. She quickly ran after it. She leaped off the roof and pounced on the Badger.
She pinned him to the ground as Tigress and Po pinned the others next to her. Po was in the middle with Porcupine, Tigress and Shai were on either side of him.

The same dark chuckle came from each of the statues. Their eyes seemed to glow a brighter green.

"I see you," they said in the same dark voice that sent shivers up Shai's spine, "Your Chi will soon be mine."

"Is he taking to me," Po asked.

"Which one," Tigress asked, "They're all talking."

"Whoa, you're right. That's so scary. We should try that, too. Maybe it'd be scary back at them."

Mantis nodded, "Okay, but we gotta plan what we're gonna say first. Otherwise, it won't be scary, it'll be just stupid."

Shai face-palmed.

"It's not them talking, you idiots," the voice yelled, annoyed, "It's me talking through them, Kai!"

Shai froze. Her eyes widened.

{Flashback Start}

Shai's eyes snapped open. She stood on a small island of stone; it floated in the air. She looked around the place. There were pieces of stone - of all shapes and sizes - floating in the void. The void itself was green. A bright yellow light glowed in the distance.

"Your Chi is strong," a dark voice echoed, "The strongest I have ever come across."

Shai whipped around toward the voice. A large, muscular bull towered over her, his horns adding to his height. Huge jade blades hung on his hips. The sclera of his eyes were a jade green, the iris glowing light blue.

"Who are you," Shai questioned.

The bull chuckled, "I am Kai. I want you to join me."

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me, Shai Lung," he sneered, "You will join me, or your friends will pay the price. Your... brother will pay the price. I will take everyone's Chi here in the Spirit Realm, then I will take the Chi from the Mortal Realm."

Shai shook her head, "No, Kai. I will not join you."

Kai sighed, "You could have made this easier. But it looks like you chose the hard way."
Kai put the heels of his hands together and slowly turned them anticlockwise. They began glowing green.

Shai could feel him begin to drain the Chi from her. She looked down. Jade began slowly spreading from a spot over her heart.

Shai looked up to stare him right in the eyes. She growled, laying her ears back on her head.

"Are you sure you don't want to change your mind," Kai asked, "We could rule the world. No one would be able to stop us. We would be unstoppable. You and I could bend the people of the Realms to our will. We could do whatever we wanted."

Shai could feel the jade begin to consume her heart. Even though Kai was taking her Chi, she could feel it build up inside.

She fell to her knees, putting her hands over her ears. She closed her eyes tightly.

"Get out of my head," she yelled.

A powerful yellow-green wave exploded from her. It carried Kai away, pushing him through a few stone walls.

Shai looked down at herself. Even though Kai had been cast away, the jade still remained in her heart.

She glanced around. She was back in the Mortal Realm. Pain and dizziness fainted her. She fell to the ground; darkness overtook her vision.

{Flashback End}

Kai gave a small dark laugh, "I will come for you... Shai Lung."

A green mist engulfed the jade creatures. A bright light emitted from them as they swirled into small, ball-like forms. They then zoomed off, the green smoke trailing after them.

The others looked over to her. A confused expression crossed their faces.

"You know who this Kai is," Shifu asked.

Shai nodded, "Yes." She turned her on her heel and set off toward the Jade Palace. "Come," she ordered bluntly, "If Kai has returned, I will need to tell you one of my favorite stories."
