Shai hurried towards the kitchen in the Bunker Tower, she knew the Furious Five and the Dragon Warrior would be there this time of the night. She caught up with Shifu, easily matching his quickened pace. "You know what must be done, Shai," he said, not bothering to look at her. "Nothing can be done - only the Dragon Warrior can stop him now."
Shai glared down at him, her red-yellow eyes shining with sadness and anger. "You have to train him first, Master," she stated matter-of-factly. "He isn't even the true Dragon Warrior until he reads the Dragon Scroll!"
"I know that," Shifu snapped as they began to quickly ascend the stairs. Shai gritted her teeth and flicked her long tail, turning her eyes back to their current path. "I have made up my mind," she said. "So, until you have trained him - until Po has received the power from the Scroll - I will continue on with my decision."
"And what decision is that, Shai," Shifu asked. He briefly glanced up at her; he already knew her answer - knew she would not give up. She kept her eyes facing forward, narrowing them in determination. "I am going to save my brother. I will change him - make him see the see the error of his ways," she answered simply, as if this was the easiest question anyone could've asked. She flicked her eyes down to him. "And you can't stop me from at least trying." She then turned her eyes back to the path ahead. Shifu sighed. He knew she was right - he couldn't stop her... and that was always what he liked about Shai. Once she set her mind on a task, no one could stop her from accomplishing her goals.

As they got closer to the kitchen, Shai and Shifu could hear the faint laughter of the Furious Five and the voice of Po. Shai could tell Shifu was annoyed at this - she could feel his aggravation consume the uneasiness he once had. "Keep training hard, Dragon Warrior," Po declared, making it evident he was trying to impersonate his master. "And one day, you will have ears like mine," he continued, followed by an eruption of laughter. When the two finally reached the entrance of the doorway, they found Po on his knees in front of the table, holding bowls up at his ears - he was trying to make them appear larger. Shai crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow at the Five. The ones who were laughing - Monkey, Viper, Crane and Mantis - instantly quietened. Shifu glared at them, his eyes brown flames of fury. "Ears," Po repeated. "What? Not selling it for you?"
"It's Shifu," Monkey whispered loudly.
Po rolled his green eyes. "Well, yeah, it's Shifu! What else would I-..."
"And Shai," Mantis added.
Po turned around, meeting Shifu's furious gaze. He yelped in surprise and bolted into a standing position; he hastily placed the bowls over his chest. The others chuckled, but Shifu and Shai stayed silent. "Tai Lung as escaped from prison, and yet here you are making jokes," Shifu raged as Po slurped up a noodle that hung over his face. "Po, you must get ready to face him!"
Po's eyes went wide with fear. "But I..." Po trailed off. "Can't Oogway stop him," he asked. "He did it before, he-..."
"Oogway cannot stop him," Shifu yelled. He sadly looked down at the staff in his hands. "Not anymore."
"Well," Po began, pausing to think of something. "What about Shai?" Shai turned to him, her eyebrow still raised. "What about me," she asked.
"Can't you stop him," Po asked desperately. Shai's expression softened - she knew he was scared. Shifu sighed and was about to speak when Shai spoke first.
"I am going to try to reason with him again," she said. "I have a feeling that I might be able to get through to him this time." Po smiled triumphantly and was about to say something, but Shai cut him off. "But if I can't get through to him... you will have to stop him, Po."
"We will stop him, Master," Tigress said, addressing Shifu with determination sparking in her eyes. "This is what you've trained us for!"
"No," Shifu answered, his voice still raised. "It is not you're destiny to stop Tai Lung! It is his!" He pointed the staff to Po - or rather, where he WAS. The others glanced around the room briefly, confusion filling them instead of anger. Shai knew he had left, but she hasn't said anything. "Where'd he go," Shifu asked.
Shai huffed and rolled her eyes as she began walking away. "Where do you think," she called over her shoulder.

The next day - just like every other day - Shai woke after having a memory of her brother. Just like every other day, she found that she has been crying in her sleep, either from happiness, sadness or anger. Happiness because some of her dreams would be enjoyable flashbacks like when her and Tai Lung would try to beat each other in training. The sad ones would be where she stood there, watching as he was being dragged off to Chorgun Prison. But - in all her dreams - Shai would feel anger. Not towards Oogway, Shifu or even Tai Lung... but towards herself. She would always blame herself because she couldn't save her brother from his own darkness.
Shai groaned and sat up, taking in the spectacular view of the distant mountains from her bedroom window. It was still dark and starry outside. But, just on the horizon, the dark blue of the night sky started to give way to the light colours of the sunrise. She breathed in the refreshing morning air, then set her mind to her task: saving Tai Lung from his destructive path. And for that, she would have to train hard - possibly harder than she ever had before. She wasn't about to give up on her brother, but if he couldn't be reasoned with... Shai knew what she had to do.
