Osial was an ancient God that was defeated by the God of Contracts during the Archon War that had happened approximately two thousand years ago.

After defeating the said God, Rex Lapis had sealed the Overlord of the Vortex underneath the waves of the Geo Archon's stone spears that can be found within Guyun Stone Forest.

Xiao, along with the other Adepti, had seen the God of Contracts defeat Osial. And now that Osial has been released from the seal Morax had casted on him, who would be able to defeat him?

The Adeptus knew that this was just a test that the Geo Archon had set up for the Qixing and for the Adepti. If they defeated Osial, then they were capable of protecting Liyue. If not, the God of Contracts would simply show up to help them and seal the ancient God once again, deeming the Qixing incapable of protecting Liyue.

What would they do now?

Xiao had fought a lot of demons, and he had already been in war. He was powerful, so why wasn't he fighting now? Why was he just watching the other mortals fight off the Fatui as they tried to protect the Guizhong Ballista that the Adepti were using? The answer was simple; if he fought, he would cause damage not only to his enemies, but also to his surroundings and to the mortals near him.

The traveler and his companion saw something above the ancient God. "What is that?" The pixie-like creature asked.

"That is Osial's divine power. I am... very familiar with it." Xiao answered, frowning as he remembered a certain memory. "Be careful not to get hit." Just like what happened to Y/N before. In one of their lifetimes that had happened during the Archon War, the previous archon unfortunately got hit by the divine power of the ancient power, killing her almost too tragically.

Another batch of Fatui arrived on the battle scene, making the mortals feel more pressured. And of course, Osial had to attack them once again. "The ancient God is attacking again! There are so many Fatui, too! We can't hold-" Paimon was cut off by an elderly laugh.

And when the traveler attacked the Fatui, all he had to do was hit them a few times and they were down. "Wow, it's Madame Ping's Shockwave! This granny's really strong!"

After a few seconds, it was Ganyu's turn to talk. "With the blood of the Qilin, I guard you against evil." With Ganyu's adeptal energy, Aether's survival capability boosted tremendously. "Cast your fear of injury by the wayside and fight with all of your might. I, too, did this during the Archon War."
