Lost.
Alone.
Corrupted.
He had lost you a lot of times, but this time, it was more painful than the others. Perhaps it was because he had the reassurance that he would find you in your next lifetime. Perhaps it was because he didn't see you in your last moments.
Perhaps it was because you were so close to reaching your happy ending. But fate was cruel, and you were it's victim.
Was he selfish for wishing that the curse wasn't broken? Maybe if he could turn back time, he would of have never broke it if he knew that this is what would happen in the end.
At least with the curse, he'll get to see you again. He'll get to hold you in his arms again. Even if it would end tragically, at least you would be there.
The memories that he had made with you, the dreams that both of you badly wanted to achieve, it haunted him now. Every single one of them broke him to pieces.
And as he walked through the crowded streets of Liyue Harbor, he couldn't help but feel alone. He couldn't help but break down. Xiao no longer cared if the people would look at him weirdly. He no longer cared. For when you left him, nothing mattered to him anymore. You were his reason to live, and now that you were gone, he was better off dead.
He passed through the bookstore, making his heart clench as he remembers all of your memories there.
"Have you chosen a book yet?"
"Can I make your pockets hurt?"
"Do whatever you want."
"I'm just kidding. I don't want to tell our future children that their father got even broke because of their mother."
Future children. He bitterly laughs as he remembers your words. Future children. Something you wanted, but will never have.
"Didn't you promise me that you'll give me five children?" He asked no one, as he looks down at the ground with his fists clenched and a bitter smile on his face. His eyes started to water once again, threatening to fall. His whole body form shakes, as he takes a sharp breathe before running away.
"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?"
"I can die happy."
He stops running once he reaches a huge tree, sitting down in front of him. He puts his knees against his chest as he pulls on his hair, tears streaming down his face. Memories of you started to play like a movie in his mind, breaking him even more.
You calling for him even if you didn't need him.
Your Almond Tofu.
Your hugs, and kisses.
Watching you read a book.
Dancing in the rain with you.
Everything about you.
It haunted him. And he knew he was slowly losing his mind. He pulls on his hair even more, as he chokes out a sob.
Truly, he was alone.
Truly, you were gone.
Truly, you'll never come back.
And with those facts, he lets out an agonized scream.
It was like millions of daggers had pierced his heart, constantly and relentlessly. Stab. Stab. Stab.
"Come back." His voice breaks as he begs. He shuts his eyes close, "Please. Come back to me."
"Please." He begs, "I don't want to play hide and seek."
And he felt like someone ripped his heart out of his chest as he realized the fact that you were hiding from him in a place he can't go to.
He looks up at the sky, begging the moon. Begging the stars. Begging everything around him to bring you back to him. And they knew, he would do everything for you.
The moment he lost you, he became nothing but an empty broken shell of a man who would do anything just to have you back in his arms.
Not Alatus.
Not Xiao.
Not Ying.
He was nothing without you.
He begs.
And begs.
"Come back."
"Come back to me."
"Rip my body, shred it to pieces. Just come back to me." He whispers, his voice cracking every now and then. "Please."
And as he close his eyes, a shooting star falls from the sky.
Maybe Fate won't be cruel this time.
