"Wait what?" Jaemin exclaimed, making the two boys sitting at the couch gaming turn around. Jaemin waved his hand, reassuring that he was alright, but his eyebrows remained knitted.

"I'm bringing one of the Beijing Phoenixes home." Renjun said from the other side of the line. "But she'll stay with me in my room."

"Did you just say she?" Jaemin asked, beginning to get concerned.

"Yes, it's a girl. But trust me, she doesn't act like one." Renjun hissed.

Jaemin raised an eyebrow, not particularly excited for the new addition to the household. "So what you're saying is that I need to move Haechan's bed, dresser, and desk back."

"Well you can also ask the others for help." Renjun suggested but Jaemin shook his head.

"By others you mean Mark when he's not busy so never." Jaemin said with a deep sigh.

Jaemin heard a few other voices from Renjun's side before Renjun spoke again.

"I need to go but I think you'll figure something out. I'll see you tomorrow." Renjun said before immediately hanging up.

Jaemin inhaled deeply, already tired before beginning to move. He dialed another number, pressing it to his ear. This girl isn't even here yet and she's already making my life difficult.

"Jaehyun-hyung? Are you doing anything right now? I need your help."

...

"Geez, why do girls take so long to pack?" Renjun said, arms crossed as he leaned on the door frame of Zhilan's room.

"You try moving out of your country with a few days notice." Zhilan replied, placing a few more of her folded clothes into the suitcase that definitely had much more than it was supposed to.

"I already did." Renjun replied, bending down to help her. "Or did you already forget?"

Zhilan bit her lip, recalling that Renjun did grow up here in China with the rest of them. She just hadn't seen him in so long since Jiayi and Winwin normally went over to Neo City, never the other way around.

"You're just not important enough for me to remember." Zhilan said, making Renjun scoffed.

"But I'm important enough for you to come to me when you found out your ex was cheating." Renjun said, sitting down on the ground.

Renjun wasn't wrong. Renjun was the one that patted her back as she emptied a tissue box with her tears, the poor male having witnessed it all. It was unfortunate that Jiayi and Winwin were out on a date leaving her alone with the male.

Renjun was one of Zhilan's first friends when she joined the Phoenixes, the only other Beijing Phoenix that was her age. They bickered a lot but also played pranks on the older Phoenixes a lot, forming a friendship between the two of them.

When Renjun moved to Neo City, it left Zhilan feeling lonely. She loved Jiayi but she was busy as one of the best medics, and she also spent a lot of time with her boyfriend.

Eventually, Zhilan met her ex-boyfriend, Xiaojun, who seemed as perfect as humans could get. Zhilan fell for him instantly, the man filling the emptiness in her heart. Zhilan didn't know where their relationship went wrong, but something about her must not have been good enough for him.

Zhilan glanced at the male that was humming to himself as he stared out the window of her room, remembering back when they were younger.

Renjun was indeed a good person to talk to, he always had been. He stayed quiet when you wanted to rant but also give comforting words when you needed it.
