Jaemin was lying on his bed when he heard the door to his room open.
Renjun had left to go find Zhilan and the two others went to go help him. Jaemin was debating whether or not he should go but figured that it was probably better for him to stay back.
He felt bad for saying all of that to Zhilan but at the same time, the girl was getting on his last nerve and this had just pushed him off the edge. It sounded ridiculous that he had flipped just because she had ate Jisung's pork belly, but in reality, it was much more than that.
Jaemin was someone that was often misunderstood because of his nature. He was energetic and outgoing with his friends, but deep down, he enjoyed being alone and keeping his thoughts to himself. It was always hard for him to open up to new people, which made others assume that he was cold and uncaring.
That's why Jaemin really didn't like how Zhilan called him rude within the first few moments that they had met. This girl barely knew him and she was already judging him. And soon, it seemed like everything Zhilan did was pushing him off the edge.
Jaemin opened his eyes to see Jeno standing by his bed. "You good?"
Jaemin rolled over so he was facing the wall, his back towards Jeno. He felt the bed sink and knew that Jeno had sat himself down.
"Zhilan's fine, if you're worried. She's with Soojung at Ayeon's place."
Jaemin stayed silent, closing his eyes. Jeno knew him well though, so he continued talking.
"Renjun's a little mad, and so is Chenle but I think it's fair since they know her better than the rest of us. We all know that Renjun is probably be the most logical out of all of us, but I think this time, the fact that Zhilan is his childhood friend might have clouded his vision."
Jaemin felt Jeno grab his arm, gently rubbing it. "He forgot about you."
Jaemin took a deep breath, turning around to face Jeno. "I messed up, Jeno."
Jeno chuckled, patting Jaemin. "I know. But you had good reason. I think the fact that you keep your thoughts to yourself makes it hard for others to realize that."
"Really?"
Jeno nodded, laying down next to his best friend. "Yeah. You always do this, Jaem. You bottle everything up until you explode like today, but no one ever knows what's going on in that head of yours. But after years of being your best friend, I'm not stupid. I know that literally everything this girl does makes you want to punch her in the face but your whole idea of making the world a better place prevents you from doing that."
Jaemin couldn't help but laugh at Jeno's comment, rolling onto his back to stare at the ceiling. "I guess you're right."
"Yah, you know I'm right." Jeno said, tickling Jaemin.
Jaemin laughed, pushing Jeno off the bed. Jeno landed on the ground with a thud, making Jaemin sit up with his eyes wide open.
The two boys stared at each other, one on the bed, the other one on the ground rubbing his back, shocked at what happened. After a few seconds, they fell into fits of laughter, so distracted that they didn't hear the door open, another person slipping into the room.
"You two look happy." Renjun said, making them whip their heads towards them. "I kinda heard everything, you're not that quiet Jeno."
Jeno got up as Renjun walked towards Jaemin, arms wide open. Jaemin gave Renjun a look, making Renjun throw his arms up in the air.
"Geez, you literally wouldn't let go of me the other day when I was playing that game on my phone and now you don't want to hug?" Renjun exclaimed.
